Bob Barker to Rosie: Replace Me!
Former Price is Right host Bob Barker is backing pal Rosie O’Donnell as a possible replacement for him on The Price Is Right
“I believe they’re going to have a meeting with Rosie,” Barker told The Associated Press backstage Friday night at the Daytime Emmy Awards, where he won his 19th trophy (pictured).
“She knows the show,” he said. “There’s no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don’t know. I’ve never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they’ve only auditioned men.”
“She told me she loved ‘The Price Is Right’ and wanted to host it one day,” Barker added,
Barker retired last week at age 83 after 35 years hosting the CBS game show and 50 years in all on television.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Rosie as the host of “The Price is Right”? Would you watch?

I think that fat pig will ruin that show like she did The View. She is a gross loser who thinks her opinion matters most. Stay home and eat waffles you lard ass!
She will be great!
Yes, It’s Time for a Woman on that show, in other capacities than just furniture pushers.
Go for it Rosie!
why in the world would Rosie want that job?? Lmao
Does anyone under 40 watch it?
I think she would serve the public better by voicing her opinions rather than telling contestants to guess who much a stupid food product costs.
Rosie will be great, but I like to see her on talk show.
Yeah, right!! That game show is not enough for loud mouth Rosie. She needs a forum where the attention in on her and her alone. My goodness, she would go off on a contestant for guessing the wrong price and asking them about their political affiliations LOL.
Did you see the Ellen beat the View out of an emmy? I am so happy for Ellen. I never get the chance to see her show, but congrats anyways.
This or something similar would be a great move for her. Rosie suffers from depression and loves to help people. Giving away prizes to people and seeing how happy they are would be more fulfilling for her.
Rosie is very opinionated, but a lot of the issues she cares about are so huge that she’s not able to conquer them and that is making her feel worse. She has an extremely giving heart. She needs to feel like she is making a difference in the lives of others. That is her true calling. A show with a happier environment would make her less tense and more joyful on a daily basis.
I don’t watch the show now, and having Rosie as the host won’t change my viewing habit.
hell no, can’t stand her. she needs to shut her pie hole.
Why the hell do people keep giving this woman a job? She needs her own **** plain and simple. Can you imagine this woman replacing the seemingly warm-spirited Bob? This would have been a nice suggestion before everyone was aware of what an ass she is but now? NO! And please, let’s keep something in its original format. A woman hosting this cheesy game show is not a step for mankind it just doesn’t fit. It’s like a man replacing Oprah and still calling the show “Oprah”.
She will be the wrong person for this program ..can you imagine her complaining about the prices and verbally abusing contestants …NO! They need someone with a cool character … it is a boring program anyway, couldn’t watch it when I was in the US!
No way!
Even though The Price is Right is a straight-forward format, she would manage to gum it up, interjecting it with her narcissistic views of the world. Remember Tom Selleck? While appearing on a lighthearted daytime talk show, he was ambushed by Rosie. While it’s all great and good to lead off your talk show by giving away free sh*t and giving Jane Q Public her moment to shine, being respectful to everyone, including those whose philosophies differ from yours makes more of an impact, IMO. And so far, we never seen that from Rosie and it’s doubtful that we ever will.
god I hope not.I agree with #13 she would just be a mess!

You described Rosie to a tee. She would be great for that job. Rosie has a big heart.

Don’t be ridiculous you fool. Rosie never abused anyone on her talk show when she had it, or on The View. It was ElisaB*tch would abused the guess on the View.
Rosie would be great for the show.
Jane Public has spoken
if she was offered, i highly doubt she’ll take it.. since she won’t be able to give her opinion on touchy subjects which i know she loves to do!!
TPIR is too limited a format for rosie. she’ll get bored with it and certainly would not last 50 years. she needs her own talk show - would be excellent paired with Ross (the intern) Mathews from The Tonight Show. There would be more range there for Rosie and for Ross. TPIR should be retired.
I sent a question to the “Ask Ro” section of her website regarding just this topic, and she responded. I’m copying and pasting from there.
Harrison writes:
Ro, I think it’s stupid not to ask you on TPIR. But people keep saying since you’re a generous person, you’d feel bad and give the losers the prizes anyway. Do YOU think you would do that?
Rosie writes:
yes
i would like to add a conselation prize
for all losers
and gift bags for the audience
She’s a closed minded liberal. You heard me. She’s so open minded to new ideas but if you don’t think she’s wonderful and progressive then you’re wrong. I love how anyone who disagrees with her is closed minded.
Maybe on that show she can’t use it as a propoganda factory. Maybe a show where she can’t talk politics will be good for her.
heck yeah i would watch rosie. She’s the one and only reason i started to watch the view again. So i’d start watching the price is right with rosie, because i lost interest after i turned 13.
I think she could do very well on this show. It is not the “view”, so those people who think she will be using this as a forum to express her own views are just blowing hot air. She is smart enough to know the format and stick to it, with adding some Rosie-isms to it, much in the manner when she had her own talk show.
I think the biggest issue by far is will middle-America accept her as the host. I can’t see the average view of the Price is Right to be a Rosie fan, and I think viewership will plummet accordingly, which is a shame, because I think she could bring some new life to this show
Look at nicole Richies stomach, She has it showing out of her bikini, I think this is her right? shes definetaly pregnant, just put in a real cell # or a friends and hit agree then submit its on the 2nd page, shes huge (use a real cell or it doesnt show the right page)

I wouldn’t watch that fat pig on anything!
hell, yes! Rosie, c’mon down. I will watch whatever Rosie does (I’m a huge fan) but truthfully I’d rather see her do a Bill Maher type show on cable.
I wouldn’t miss a second!
The host/hostess of the Price is Right needs to be (1) someone who knows the games well enough to easily be able to officiate them, and (2) someone who can relate to the contestants, be friendly and ask questions, and ensure that they are comfortable while playing their games.
Sorry haters, but of all the names that have been floated so far, Rosie’s the one.
I think Rosie will do fine. It’s a game show and not about world events. So she has no reason to discuss politics or anything other than the game itself.
