‘The Tudors’ Kicks Off Season 2

Here are some sneak peek shots of co-stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Henry Cavill from the season 2 Ireland set of The Tudors!!

Season Two begins with Henry and Catherine still not quite divorced, and the nation in upheaval. Multiple Oscar nominee Peter O’Toole, 74, recently joined the cast as Pope Paul III.

“We’ve already written season two,” Showtime entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt says. “And it really is the marriage of Anne and Henry, which doesn’t happen until Episode Three. But then three through 10 are basically Anne of the Thousand Days, which is the three years of that marriage. She’s beheaded at the end of Episode 10, which won’t be a surprise to anybody. I think people do know that.”

And who can we expect to appear by the end of the second season? Jane Seymour! (Not Dr. Quinn…)

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ new look?

Dear Robin,

I am not from the states and I’ve always loved England (for its traditions, atmosphere, literature and myths amongst other things) and certainly know more about it than you know or even I know about my country. I studied English history in school and went to university in England.

There’s no need to be sooo serious or derogatory. The whole point about tv is fantasy and an avenue to escape from the sometimes mundane reality of daily life and don’t tell me that men don’t go on about women either (does that automatically make men shallow dim-wits?) So we ladies are more than entitled to have a bit of fun and gush about the sights we have been blessed to behold.

When one is serious, of course one would agree with you that the acting, costumes and locations make this a pretty decent drama series.

And continuing on a serious mien, naturally the men who really matter to us are the ones who go through the daily grind of life with us like our fathers, husbands, brothers, pastors, teachers, leaders, etc.. They are the ones that make life worthwhile. But I still don’t think there is anything wrong in enjoying that little bit of tv in any way we wish to!

Robin,

Who died and made you the moral judge? I believe that you are the biggest hypocrite there ever was. I don’t believe for a second that you have NEVER commented on a woman or man being attractive (depending on whichever way you swing). So, who are you to judge these women as “shallow” and “dim-witted tarts?”

I must say you sound very bitter. My guess is that you lack self-esteem and any sense of self-worth, and as such, you feel resentful towards women who comment on the attractiveness of other men.

Please get off your high horse and do not ramble about unrelated topics of the qualities that a “real man” should possess. I can say this, however: a real man would not have posted such sexist and derogatory comments.

Go Figure Your Ugliness :)

To me, the two leading are hot but in different ways: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (a.k.a El Rhyssi lol) is the creepy hot guy, the one who seems seductive but otherworldly, like Anne Rice’s vampires. As for Henry Cavill, at the beginning of his career, he was not noticeable to me : he just looked like a beautiful kid but now, being casted in the Tudors, he looks so manly, broody and rugged (I think he should put more muscles and have them defined). Anyway, I hope for them to have a great career!

Robin must be frigid and bitter
Henry is hot but JRM is perfect….yummy!!!!

wawawiwa their both sexy, thats y i watch them lol

Jonathan is very hot! The new look is great…but of course he looks amazing no matter what. I just love how sexy he is on the Tudors.

To the person earlier who stated that JRM and Henry Cavill should be in the list of People’s sexiest men alive….Jonathan was voted one of the sexiest men alive for 2007. =-) He certainly deserves the title!

I think Henry Cavill is just a littel too plain. He’s handsome, but plain. JRM is super unique and thos eyes make me want to melt. That shirtless, pomegranate eating scene..grrrrrr

JRM is sooo much cuter than the other guy. I agree, get rid of the beard. Funny, the real Henry was no looker and the real Ann Bolen was quite the bow-wow too.

There’s no doubt Rhys Myers is an excellent actor, but why bother to ask about his new look when the Henry we all want to watch is called Cavill. YUM YUM….

Henry’s sister dies of consumption, aka tuberculosis. That is what it is called.

@rachel:
I love you!!!

Henry Cavill is so amazingly good looking! AND he’s great actor!
