Angelina Jolie - “Hello” Magazine Interview
The Canadian edition of Hello! magazine has a fantastic interview with Angelina Jolie about her children, her relationship with Brad – and those eating-disorder rumors.
How is your newest adopted son, Pax, adjusting to family life? He’s a great kid. When we first met him, we thought he was really shy and really quiet, but about two days at home, we discovered that he is the loudest member of the family! He is very athletic, very bold. Pax and Zee [Zahara] have really connected because they’re closer in age, and Madd and Pax – they’re brothers, so they have moments where they absolutely bond together against everybody else in the family. Then they have moments where they bug each other, but it’s quite normal. It’s nice. I’m really, really proud.
It’s rumored that you’re considering adopting a child from the Czech Republic. Is there any truth to this? No. We’re not considering any more adoptions at the moment. We’re trying to make sure that all of our kids are adjusted first and that they all have individual time. We will have more children, but not right now. We’re always
open to all countries, but there just isn’t any truth to the rumors. Just because [we] adopt and because we travel, people say Brad’s buying a house wherever he goes and I’m adopting a child wherever I go.
Do you and Brad have different parenting styles? We’re very similar and we support each other as parents, so there is no divide of “Daddy’s good with this but Mommy doesn’t like it,” or vice versa. Brad is just as affectionate and loving as I am, and I am just as playful.

Do you cook? No. Brad would tell you that I am one of the worst cooks in the world, but my first husband said that I pretended to cook badly so I never had to.
How did Brad help you through the loss of your mother? God, it’s funny to give all his secrets away. He’s a really great friend. He really cares. When my mom passed, he sat with me in the [hospital] room and held her hand and helped me go through all the stages that you have to deal with when someone passes, from her ashes to everything. He was just wonderful to my brother [James] as well. [After her funeral] we all went back home and then he just spent the night asking us questions about our mom.
He got us to tell funny stories about her and focus on all the love and all the joy. Brad is extraordinary.
How’s your relationship with his parents? When I first met Brad’s parents, I came in with two adopted children from other countries and that was new for them and their family. I didn’t know how they were going to be, but they’re wonderful, wonderful people. They’re equally loving to all of the children. We’ve left the children with them quite a few times, but I don’t know if we’ll leave them with Pax at the moment [smiling].
Would you say you wear your emotions on your sleeve more than you used to? I suppose, in some way. It’s funny, because I feel like I’m this really emotional person but people have often said to me, about myself or the roles I play, that I seem strong. I’m often surprised that people don’t see me or think of me as an emotional person. Maybe they do more now, but for a long time in my life, it was that I was just tough or something, and that I lacked emotion.
There’s been a lot of speculation about your recent weight loss. The funny thing is when somebody says, “you’re thin,” people say, “thank you.” But to me, it is not a compliment. It’s not something I want to be. I have always been lean, and this year I lost my mom, I have four kids, I finished breastfeeding and it’s been hard to get my nutrition back on track and learn about my body after birth. The disturbing thing is that instead of somebody saying, “Oh, this looks like a person that’s actually dealing with something [emotional],” they say, “does she want to fit into skinny jeans?” When I [read] anything that says I’m too thin, I think “Good, good!” Let it be a criticism. I don’t want to encourage young girls to be too thin.
Where is the reckless Angelina of old, who dived into the hotel pool after winning her Golden Globe? [Laughing] I’m really the same person. I jumped in the pool because somebody dared me to. So it wasn’t anything punk. It was true happiness and fun. Hopefully, I do still have that [quality] and I’ll jump in many pools in the future.

———————————————–So how does it feel to be attacked by bampzs fans when you do not mean anything wrong.. they are really awful hateful when they think you aren’t in there click.
I’ve read this same Q&A in a different mag not to long ago.
ted said that Brad was never going to marry jen.
to neela:
yeah thats excatly what i meant..and your right. angie lost her mom, and we all know how much her mother meant to her so to us its really easy to forget the loss but she carries the death of her mom everyday , she probably got over it a little bit kind of like accepting the fact but shes still stressed out and doesnt eat as much cuz of her feelings right now and no one really knows if she eats anormally or not.rmember she said she finished breast feeding..thats another thing
I heard somewhere that for Angelina’s job as goodwill ambassador she has to be screened for drugs. So, if Ted C.’s finger was pointing to her, then, that sounds fishy. I don’t think Angelina would be allowed to maintain her position if she has not passed the drug tests.
Also, I agree with the posts that Ted C. intends to make the subject of his blind items confusing. I think if he makes it sounds like Angelina then, people are more apt to pay attention to his columns.
64 Lucky , Does that mean only obese person are happy ?
I’m sure you are from non-english speaking country. Same with me, english is not my first language, but from this interview, I definitely understood Angie was all praise on her “in-law” and show so much love on Pax.
I agree with the ex Brangie fans who have turned on BP.
I dont know what to think about that blind item, but I do know it isnt Angie. As lainey pointed out once, Angie has regular drug tests for her UN work.
Also, Ted said this person had a fairly good reputation in the gossip rags until recently. Angie has gotten lots of negative press, unfairly I believe, for years.
And since when has Angie dabbled in fine shoes? She is not a clothes horse.
Plus, Ted said he thought Angie was looking beautiful at Cannes. At least her face.
I do think he wrote it in a way that some would think it was Angie, but too many things don’t add up for it being her.
What a world we live in when people try to bring down those who are trying to do good in this world.
The Sean Smith recap is sad, people hate her because of the ******* triangle. Before Brad she was more respected.
haha what the hell are you saying
suspicious package is a hater

And the way she described her work on Wanted, specifically, her having to learn to use ‘Heelys’… I’m sorry, but wouldn’t we have heard or seen any injuries due to an ‘accident’?
And for people to start offering her shoes as an example… come on, now. Weren’t the haters just complaining that she wore the same open-toed shoes all the time? Hardly fashion-forward, according to them.
And let’s not forget… Ted C., like most gossip mongers, don’t go outside of their zones. And since Angelina has been in NOLA, Prague, and Cannes for the vast majority of the year, how would Ted C. know anything? Like US, his ‘exclusives’ come from paperwork filed in local, state, and federal agencies.
Neela, Post 82: “Also, I agree with the posts that Ted C. intends to make the subject of his blind items confusing. I think if he makes it sounds like Angelina then, people are more apt to pay attention to his columns.”
Exactly. And it makes sense she would have to submit to drug tests. I call BS, and knowing Ted, it isnt ANYONE… or it is three different celebs rolled into one.
It’s annoying that people only focus on how she stole brad from jen. Brad Pitt silence has been the worse PR for angelina in her life.

That’s right. She just did finish breast feeding. There’s that, too. It is unfortunate that she is lambasted more than Brad. I love Brad, but I wish the media and the public would give Angelina a reprieve as much as Brad does. I think it all goes back to Angelina being a woman of power. Too bad.

Neela thanks for that. It shows you where people are at although I suspect that only one or two of those questions were quite legit, without an underlying agenda.
There were some question that were so obviously bias againd Angelina is laughable. the reporter must have felt frustrated.
In addition ,this goes to show you that no one really knows Angelina, because there have been very few in depth interviews about her. It’s all superficial. The questions were stupid imo. I’m glad that he blasted the women who have a disdain for other women who were doing positive things. I have a disdain for them as well. So many people think that Angelina started doing her charity work when she got together with Brad. They can’t be that ignorant, can they? Brad fell in love with a woman who had things going on in her life. she was a UNHCR Ambassador, fellow actor, ex pat living in Europe and a single mother. Her life did not begin when she met Brad. It was because of her life that she met Brad.
Thanks Jared!

I apologize if this has been posted before on another thread. I don’t read comments all the time, so, please have patience.
This was an interview of Sean Smith. He answered questions from readers about his Newsweek article on Angelina. The read was interesting

Thank you for posting, interestin indeed. Americans are not so over the fact that angelina is with brad.
Brad doesn’t deserve her.
great interview~ Brad is a extraordinary man!!
Brad’s silence is the worst thing in the world.

thanks for the post on Sean Smith interview. He came across as straightforward and answered all the questions honestly.
She doesn’t love Shi as much as her adopted kids because she might be jealous of Shi. Angelina has never had a father figure as Brad to Shiloh in her life. She did all these crazy things just to get the attention of her father who has been ignoring her, who has not giving love, care, attention Angelina which she has been needing.
She loves to love her adopted kids because she wants to be different.
***** boy brad is a jerk, angelina needs a real man not a boy.
