OlderGeorge Clooney’s Motorcycle Madness
A scruffy-faced George Clooney takes one his Harley Davidson motorcycles for a spin on Thursday around the small town of Laglio in Italy’s Lake Como, where he owns a luxury villa.
WHAT’S SEXIER — smooth or scruffy?
George is currently leading a residents’ revolt against the mayor of Laglio, urging his neighbors to sign a petition against further development of the town.
“Yes I signed it. Almost every member of the town signed it,” George said in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Friday. “My concern is that this village that has stood for hundreds of years would be destroyed simply because I happened to have lived there for the last six years. I told my neighbors that I would do what they wanted. And it seemed that they didn’t want to demolish the harbor where all the local fishermen keep their boats. The petition, signed by three fourths of the town, seems to have proved the difference. It’s a testament to the character of the people in Laglio.”
The mayor wants to drop $15 million on building parking spaces and a pontoon bridge, which would pass right in front of George’s villa.
