Brad & Angie Jet Out of Prague

Thanks for the pictures Just Jared. I left my review of “A Mighty Heart” two threads ago. It is a powerful and moving film. AJ did an outstanding job as well as the supporting cast. I recommend it highly to those who have not seen it. AJ looks great. She has always been a thin lanky girl and critics should look at some of her archive pictures. She appears to be healthy and in a good place in her life. I wish her, Papa Pitt and the children all the best. Peace to all.

Technically, I’m taking the weekend off, but I just received a call from one of my best sources, and so I’m passing the information along. (The truth is, it’s virtually impossible for me to go a weekend without following movie box office. If anybody knows of a 12-step program, please let me know.)

Universal’s Evan Almighty is a huge disappointment. Despite its $200M+ budget, the presence of Steve Carell and an aggressive campaign aimed at Christians, it appears that this story of a modern day Noah generated only an estimated $12M on its opening day, which will likely translate to just $34M for the weekend. If that number holds, Evan Almighty will fall short of $100M domestic, making it a disaster of biblical proportions for NBC Universal.

Meanwhile, MGM/Weinstein has a nice hit on its hands with 1408. This is a horror film, but not an R-rated torture film from the Hostel/Hills Have Eyes school. Instead, it’s just a good scary movie about a haunted hotel room with a very good John Cusack performance. My sources tell me that it will likely finish 2nd on Friday with $7M or so and 3rd for the weekend with approximately $18.5M. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Fox) is experiencing a massive 2nd weekend drop of 65%. FF2 grabbed only $6.7M on Friday, but its kid appeal will lift it into 2nd place for the weekend with an estimated $20.5M weekend.

The Angelina Jolie film A Mighty Heart (Paramount Vantage) is performing as expected with approximately $1.3M at 1,355 locations on Friday, and it will bank an estimated $4.6M by Monday morning.

It’s not a summer movie, so if your sources are right… it’s great!

I still don’t understand why they didn’t wait for the fall…

AMH has opened in the US so I don’t think they would have anymore premiere stateside. The movie does not open in Europe until Sept.
So trip is probably just for fun day trip. Maybe Germany. Brad friends live/work in Berlin.

this was a strategic decision on the studio’s part to capitalize on the heat and good press she/it got from Cannes. if they waited to the fall, it would have been squandered. they are looking to make money with this pic and dont trust the pea-sized memories of the viewing audience to go see a movie in october that was hyped and hailed in may.

GUYS dont listen to the facken maniston chinnifer’s i tell you now GO watch the movie they just wanna give you a bad impression.
