Maddox & Zahara Share Clothes!

Developmentally, Zee probably doesn’t care too much about the symbols of gender at the moment (Those of you who want to see her rocking the frills).

At 3-4 y.o. kids develop an interest in sex/gender. And many develop rigid (and sometimes unique) ideas of what it means to be male or female. My niece went through (an extremely annoying — to me) phase when she would only wear pink (and my kid inherited all that pretty pony!) and only eat pink food until she got sick of strawb yogurt (and red dye #2). My kid went through the sparkly-with-a-nod-to-pink phase, but she had always had a female doctor, and one day she had to go in and her doc wasn’t there and she got a male doctor. She was NOT having it. “DOCTORS ARE GIRLS!” she was crying her head off, thinking I had taken her to some quack. At 10 she has a severe allergy to anything with ruffles (”that is hideous, Mom”) Despite her having been dressed in black all the time as a baby and a lot of navy along the way, she identifies as a girl — with, of course, her own view of what that means — everything from sweaty athletic exertion to a love of shoes (only the second of which she’s inherited from me).

Point being, sure it matters how rigid the parents are about gender (or the opposite — one of my friends kept her older daughter in gender neutral overalls for years, but she came home from a preschool playdate with red fingernails claiming she wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader), but the kid is going to go on his or her own gender journey, taking in parental values and behavior as well as what they pick up in media, books, the world around them. Kids will have preferences that are their own, guaranteed.

So vintage rock tee or white sundress for a two year old is all about parental preference. In a year or two, you can count on Miss Zee to have a LOT to say about what being a girl means to her.

Between 3 - 4 sounds just right. It’s certainly been my experience with my daughter and her little friends. She is into the pink and sparkly phase and I swear, I’m not responsible. I didn’t try to dress her in pink or sparkly. That started at around 3.5 years of age (before then, she was happy to wear blue or any other colour that looked pretty to her). She has several girl friends with the same proclivities. Talk about peer group pressure. But seriously, my daughter hardly watches TV or videos - like may be 2 hours a week at most. When she does watch TV, during those 2 hours a week, its usually ‘animal planet. So, I really don’t know where the love of Pink and sparkly comes from but it isnt’ from me.

I know for a fact that AJ practices witchcraft. She still has demons to overcome. We all do. As for Brad, that’s his problem. Ha! Stepford …

if they keep dressing her up like that, shes going to end up like a tom boy.

I KNOW I would, along with the rest of
the planet, quite honestly-beginning w/
Brad Pitt and the mess, and the Maniston,
he factually brought to the happy life
she had w/ her adorable little Maddox.
She was already a respected humanitarian
and worked with UN and had an amazing
bond with her child.
End of story. All FACTS.

Anyways, I wish her a good rest on a
much needed vacation, so that she can
continue w/ all the work, and on
her work on Clint Eastwood’s new film!

She’s going to daycare, where she gets to run around, probably play in the dirt and just be a kid. What is wrong with wearing pants so that she can play freely without worrying about her clothes?

When they are out and about as a family, she is dressed appropriately. Get over it people.

And there’s nothing wrong with sharing an older sibling’s clothes. It’s part of being siblings…passing something down to the other.

What do you recommend they do? Throw the clothes away once they’ve been worn and buy new ones even though what they have is still in good condition?

This is a woman who is practicing what she preaches and is showing her children to share and value what they have.

I’ve noticed in past photos of Pax and Zee, seems like the backpacks that they carry are also hand-me-downs from Maddox. This is a really normal down to earth family. I love them!

The first family in history to wear hand-me-downs. Do you think it’ll catch on??? OMG

Actually skull and crossbones are everywhere in fashion right now. Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dolce and Gabbana. The friggen Gap for Goodness sakes. Not to mention all the pirate stuff with regard to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (Which is DISNEY for God’s Sake)

Black Sabbath is just a band. Not satanic. Seriously get a grip. I am assuming people believe Marilyn Manson is also satanic. It is called marketing. Do whatever is different to sell.

As for the Jolie-Pitt children. Not only are they beautiful and well loved. They are seeing the world outside of what a priveleged life they are forunate to have. They realize from birth and circumstances how underpriveleged so many others are.

This will allow them to grow as responsible and caring individuals.

I love it how they are sharing cloths, with the hand me downs, just like a normal family

still LOVE him thats why when i try to move on

i always think of him which makes it had to

move on. But one thing i know about this is

that he will NEVER come back to me!!!!

Zahara is full of joy. If you look back at the first pictures of her, with Angelina, you will see a quiet-eyed child, with wisdom hidden in those liquid black eyes.
