Angelina Jolie: Hire Some Fast Elephants!

You may have missed MSN’s interview with Angelina Jolie from last week. The Mighty Heart actress discussed plans for the Maddox Jolie-Pitt foundation, which she was just recently accused of abandoning, and about her kids.

Here’s how she described her 1-year-old daughter Shiloh: “Shi’s so full of light and love! She’s just a little honey and very, very funny. I think I’m recognizing some of myself in that one. She’s going to be a little bit of trouble!”

Watch Angelina’s interview with MSN here. You know you want to find out about Angie hiring those fast elephants!

UPDATE 1: Below are some pictures of Brad & Angelina on Saturday getting in some alone time in Bilbao in the North of Spain. By the looks of it, Angelina drove while Brad popped in and out of the car to take pictures. Ange also was recognized by a fellow mother and her daughter.

UPDATE 2: During their trip in Spain, Brad and Angie are staying at Hotel Marqués De Riscal in Elciego. The couple also checked out the Guggenheim Bilbao, designed by world-renowned architect Frank O. Gehry (one of Brad’s favorite architects).

Boxoffice for Saturday IMPROVED over Friday’s (quite a big percentage).

Then why you don’t post the numbers?

96 serouisly?

the adaptation of the script is her main issue.

==============
Marianne has no problem with the film (and it is her book). Danny’s parents have no problem with the film. They are the ones who matter most and nobody else.

think positive! @ 06/24/2007 at 11:25 am

Well this Asra Q. Nomani can shove her article whenever she wants.

Personally I want to thank Brad and all the other producers for making this movie and spreading the message Marriane wanted to be out there and for chosing and extrodinary actress as Angie to portray her.

If it wasn’t for this two people I wouldn’t have known about Marriane and Daniel and their story. I wouldn’t have known what happened. And many people wouldn’t have known about it either.

Now many foreiners like me will be able to learn and educate and search about who Daniel Pearl was and what he had acomplished and how a real journalist should operate awhat a great strength Marriane had through all this situation.

If Marriane her self or D.Pearl’s parents are satisfied with the resault of this movie then enyone else who is complaining is a big fat NOTHING!!

Regarding the Nomani article:

This movie is based on Mariane Pearl book “A Mighty Heart”. Mariane herself has approved the movie. why is the **** Ms Nomani not happy about it? She can go to write her own version of book about Dannieal Pearl and then persude somebody to make to a movie. Did she said “Thumbs up okay on my end” after watching the movie first time? It is her own fault she did speak out her mind then. so shut up now *****.

seriously!!!!! @ 06/24/2007 at 11:28 am

Asra Q. Nomani OP gives you the idea that she’s the only one fighiting for Danny’s memory because his wife is so busy playing with Hollywood. She says Brad Pitt and Paramount only care about the money and not danny, this project with or without angelina was going to be the same, the adaptation of the script is her main issue.

seriously!!!!! @ 06/24/2007 at 11:31 am

my gosh, must we always use foul language to get our point accross!!!

People wise up!!!

It cannot be said that violence is an Islamic phenomenon. Violence has no religion or nationality. If some Islamic groups are involved in violence and are considered extremist, there are also other groups and even nations that are known for committing acts of violence, such as Israel, or Hindu groups in India.

Violence has no nationality; it exists everywhere. The list of individuals, groups, or even nations that use violence to attain political aims is quite long. Israel has the worst record of using violence and committing atrocities against the Palestinian people as well as the Lebanese.

Some people, particularly Marxists and communists in general, want to interpret the phenomenon of violence as the result of economic injustice. We cannot deny the truth in this explanation. The Qur’an did not underestimate the financial factor in explaining certain phenomena such as killing the children out of destitution or out of fear of pauperism.

Others explain violence using the conspiracy scheme, meaning that behind all this violence is a diabolic design. This interpretation is quite popular; it alleviates any sort of responsibility because someone else is accountable, and at the same time it renders us impotent vis-à-vis political oppression. We are facing religious, social, and political oppressions. The human being is free; therefore one should not accept this explication. Even if some people really are conspiring against us, is that an excuse? Why don’t we make our own plan? Should we always be victimized by others?

A single answer to this phenomenon is unacceptable, because it is a multi-faceted, compounded, and complex problem. Some of the reasons behind this phenomenon could be attributed to internal, external, and psychological factors; some can be attributed to intellectual factors; others are social or economic. Some people focus on the external factors. This is neither objective nor scientific thinking; there must be a reconciliation between all the factors.

There are many factors to this phenomenon:

1. The absence of a moderate line of thinking. It is important that prevalent moderate Islamic thought come into the open in order for a multitude of young people to find their way instead of going underground. The absence of such a line of thinking left the ground open for extremist thought and philosophy.

2. The absence of true scholars who are capable to convince with the proofs from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Their absence left the arena open to unqualified, the so-called scholars working for the authorities. Consequently, the youth lost confidence and appointed themselves as sheikhs to issue fatwas on complicated problems.

3. Oppression of the people and lack of democracy led the people to take things into their own hands. Oppression breeds violence, and violence breeds more violence.

4. The non-application of the Shari`ah is also a main factor, as many countries state that Islam is the official religion of the country, and others may add that Islam is the main source of the laws. After this, people see enacted laws that run counter to the Shari`ah, and for sure such laws provoke young men to commit acts of violence.

5. The propagation of corruption and the proliferation of oppression in society are also reasons for frustration.

To hello,# 94, read the book yourself and go watch the movie. It’s not about Daniel Pear life. It’s about his death.

You want to read a book about Daniel Pear life and see a movie about him, check ‘the journalist and the jihadi’, ‘who killed Daniel Pearl?’ and ‘the Daniel variations’ maybe you’ll have all your answers. By that time you’ll stop complaining like tthat sour grape of secret lover of Asra, dear poster ’seriously!!’

@egad

you sure spend lots of time studying the triangle. i’ve noticed you studied, analysed every picture to find a “speck”. you spend so much time here, that the minute a “spanish post” was up, you immediately used the language translator (looking at the timing of the post). you sure responded fast. you sure studied brad in detail, knowing about the “supposed” trip with aniston.

remember the old adage, “you reap what you sow”. do some good deeds and you’ll be rewarded.

dont use the excuse that because you’re in the business that you can just plant rumors at will.

The fact is the role of M. Pearl in the movie is a difficult one to play. I cannot see many actresses, even though one implied that she was doing the role, handling such a complex character. The accent, the dignity, the heartbroken acknowledgment was so impressive, that only an actress of AJ’s caliber could pull it off. There are some good actresses in Hollywood, of various races, etc. However, AJ brought a familiarity with MP, humanitarianism and a world citizen experience to the role.

Asra has all the skills needed to write her own book. If she has something to say, write about it.

Her beef is with the studio, Paramount. They decide how the film will be marketed and promoted. The producers are only involved in the actual filmaking.

She has a right to beef but we get it the first time. Her comment that all of this is so not Danny, is it so like Mariane? Mariane is a serious journalist just like she is.

The film Gandhi was about great Indian spiritual leader who lived a very simple life, simple vegetarian diet and spun the fabric to clothe himself. The premiere of that film was as splashy as all get out. Of course it was as far as Mahatma Gandhi as you can get, but the premiere and promotion of a film has no connection to the subject of the film.

Asra was caught totally cluless on how a film is distributed and promoted. She thinks that it should be like a book signing with coffee and donuts distributed.

Brad adores photography as much as he adores architecture. He is practicing in both of them for years. And he can combine both of them by taking pictures of buildings that are concidered as pieces of art.

Brad and Angie are complementing each other so well. They support each other’s passions!!

WOW…lovely couple.

Bilbao is a great place to enjoy the views, get drunk and have great sex. Ahhh the memories.

Nomani’s opinion reflects badly upon herself. She never accepts responsibility for her own sell-out and tries to makes a weak excuse “I was reacting to the power and seduction of Hollywood.” At the end of the day it was Mariane’s story about Danny not Nomani’s. Everyone has their own reality.

Blast from the past @ 06/24/2007 at 11:43 am

Another old Brad interview

Primetime 1997

Diane Sawyer:
All right. How’s this for a success story? Ten years ago, a college kid from Springfield, Missouri, who loves movies decides he’ll just drive to California and become an actor. And in fact, in seven months, Brad Pitt has his first job.
Of course, it helps that as Dustin Hoffman has said, “Next to Brad Pitt, everybody else looks like an onion.” But out here, they talk more about the young actor’s constant search for serious roles, new mountains to climb.

We first saw him last February north of Vancouver on top of the world, making the movie “Seven Years In Tibet” about a mountain climber who stumbles into spiritual clarity. The 33 - year - old actor loved the danger, the bitter cold and the prospect of getting back to the 24 - year - old woman he couldn’t wait to marry. He called her his Gwynie.

But as mountain climbers know, any moment the weather can turn. As helicopters brewed up a blizzard for a movie shot, there was turbulence ahead in life. Soon, he would learn that a magazine had paparazzi photos of him and Gwyneth Paltrow on vacation, happy and naked. He sued for recall of the magazine and won. Later in the year, there would be a scare about his father’s health which ended up OK. Add to it all, the breakup. Gossip sheets have blamed Pitt. They’ve written stories that he had a roving eye, but the gossip sheets apparently have it very wrong. Last Monday, we met up with him again outside a blues club in LA. He is tall, famously polite and hates interviews — especially those personal questions about why he broke off the engagement and about his broken heart.

Brad Pitt:
Well, that happens to everyone. But listen, that’s — are we on the love conversation now?

Diane Sawyer:
We are.

Brad Pitt:
The love line?

Diane Sawyer:
We are. Everybody has been speculating it was about somebody else for one or the two of you.

Brad Pitt:
It wasn’t one thing. It wasn’t, you know, it just — boy, I hit a brick wall here, didn’t I?

Diane Sawyer:
He says for everyone, love is about commitment and trust (on camera) Still believe in happy endings?

Brad Pitt:
Yeah, absolutely. Happy endings. Um, happy endings? No, I believe in perfect moments. And then I believe in miserable moments. And then you collect another perfect moment.
But you know, listen, oh, boy. This is the big one. It’s love, I think — I think it’s a fantastic thing. It’s fantastic. I think it’s - I don’t know, when you first meet and you have that first touch and there’s this euphoria, and it’s exciting. But that’s — that’s not it. I mean, that only lasts for so long. And love is work. Love is work. And so, you’ve got to make your choice, if that’s what’s most important to you, you know? What do you want? Do you want to be with someone, or do you want to play around? You make your choice. And you’ve got to be honest about it, if — if you find yourself going another way, that’s all. It’s very simple stuff, honesty. Yet it seems to be the toughest thing to grasp. Honesty with yourself. How’re you really feeling? Honesty with others. Otherwise, you’re better off alone. Don’t waste someone’s time.

Diane Sawyer:
You really believe in fidelity?

Brad Pitt:
Me? Yeah, I do. But it’s taken me a while to learn it, you know? I had to screw up a couple times. I had to fail to figure it out.

Diane Sawyer:
But how long ago did you learn this?

Brad Pitt:
I would say coming out of college, you know? Because your college years, you’re all over the place. At least, I was. Listen, I’ll go on to the next one just as open. And if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. You know, I’ll keep trying. I have a lot of respect for love. And I think I’m speaking for the both of us here. You — you put yourself into a relationship and you expose yourself, and it doesn’t work. Sometimes you know, you see it’s not — it’s not going to be so healthy for the long run. You’d better get out.

Diane Sawyer:
Will you be friends again? Will you be close again?

Brad Pitt:
Oh, I don’t see how we can’t be. Um, shared a big part of our life together.

Diane Sawyer:
Some day?

Brad Pitt:
Sure, we will.

Diane Sawyer:
Do you think men and women are essentially different?

Brad Pitt:
I don’t know. I have no idea. What is that book, “Men Are From …

Diane Sawyer:
“Mars.”

Brad Pitt:
… “Pluto, and Women Are From” …

Diane Sawyer:
Who knows where.(Laughter)

Brad Pitt:
I have no idea. I think women are fantastic.

Diane Sawyer:
Does it ever make you happy at all when the girls are screaming?

Brad Pitt:
Oh, sure it does. What am I, crazy?

Diane Sawyer:
Just checking.

Brad Pitt:
Come on.

Diane Sawyer:
But can you experience it? Can you say, “They all want me”?

Brad Pitt:
No. It’s not like that, though. You know, it’s — I mean, my sister had Andy Gibb up on the wall, you know? I mean, really, you know?

Diane Sawyer:
Fame is fleeting.

Brad Pitt:
Yeah, yeah. And it’s a poster.

Diane Sawyer:
Yeah.

Brad Pitt:
But every now and then, you get the individual who comes up and you know they were moved by a movie you were involved with. You know, they were honestly moved. Because that was my experience as a child. That’s why I love movies. Because someone demonstrated or articulated something that I had felt but never been able to put it that way and it made sense to me, and someone showed me some clarity and it really moved me.

Diane Sawyer:
Do you like the money? Would you ever be nervous about losing it?

Brad Pitt:
No. No. My father said to me when I was a kid, which I — it really took me off - guard. He said — because he’s very practical. And I’m not very practical. He would always say, “You either are going to be filthy rich or dirt poor. So prepare yourself.”

Diane Sawyer:
Tell me about your mom and dad. Tell me about your dad.

Thanks, Jared…you are awesome. What a day to
start my Sunday morning…The most gorgeous couple ever….

Curiousgal @ 06/24/2007 at 11:48 am

Asra doesn’t realized that AMH is MP’s account of her (MP’s ) struggle to find the whereabout of DP. Is Asra trying to prove there’s a relationship between her and DP that she wanted the world to know? The not sokind remark directed at MP, Brad and Paramount is uncalled for.
Although there were flashbacks to their love story,AMH is all about events after DP was declared missing.

Asra , bitter, bitter

lurker opinion @ 06/24/2007 at 11:48 am

90 serouisly!!!

Because of DVD sales and rentals this movie will have a wide range audience.

With a documentary, and HBO movie, this movie plus countless books I do not think 5 years from now Daniel Pearl will be forgotten.
