#74 - yeah the video of Pax and Zahara from this morning is sooooo cute, and it’s great to hear Pax is picking up English quite quickly - they’re like little sponges at that age. I think Pax looks pretty happy and relaxed with both of his parents. I came back truly saddened by this movie. Although you know how things are going to turn out in the end, the movie does a very good job of chronicling the search, the anguish, and the uncertainty following Pearl’s disappearance.

I do believe that the story is told objectively and apolitically; you get to know Mariane’s “team” well and witness their efforts, hopes, fears and frustrations closely as they help search for Pearl. I could identify with the central characters of the movie; I especially liked the performances of Jolie and Irrfan Khan. Irrfan Khan would be familiar to those who have seen The Namesake.

A significant part of the movie was shot in Pune, India, which doubled for Karachi, Pakistan. The arrival of Brad and Angelina in Pune was highly publicized, and there were many stories in local press during the filming that included Brad & Angelina riding an auto rickshaw, about their bodyguards manhandling some members of the British press, and so on. I was curious to catch glimpses of Pune in the movie since I am from Pune; however, it was hard to tell any key Pune locations in the movie.

Please let me vent. I cannot believe that anyone would not want this movie to be seen. Forget Brad and Angie. This is Marianne Pearl’s story about her husband who happened to be Jewish, who was killed while repeating that he was Jewish. And yet even while all the representatives of the countries portrayed fearing that he might be Israeli Intelligence fought to save his life. Right now the United States can use all of the tolerance it can garner from every nation. Brad and Angie don’t need another dollar, they don’t need another award. However, we need to have this story told. I wonder if we had spent the money that has been spent on the Iraq war on the children of Darfur, the Sudan, Indonesia, Afganistan and our own if the rest of the world would want to commit acts of brutality against us.

I saw it on Friday night and know that I need to go back again. The really disgusting thing is that the people who are so violent about Brad and Angie aren’t kids. Whatever mistakes or rewards Brad and Angie have, those belong to them but if we don’t learn the lessons of a Marianne Pearl of tolerance and forgiveness, of seeking justice, of speaking truth, we will never get out from this mess we are in right now.

Thanks for venting. It blows my mind that people who have not seen this powerful movie are clacking and clucking with glee over estimates that came within the studio projection. A Mighty Heart is a must see film. It is a message of tolerance, international relationship and the promotion of peace. There were many attemps leading up to the opening of this film to smear AJ. However, those with open-minds went and learn from this film. Hopefully, more people will put aside prejudices, tabloidism,and ignorance and go see this movie.

AMH isn’t as highly publicized as most people would think. Yeah, Angelina did dozens of interviews for magazines and tv shows. But the trailer is rarely on tv, and when it is its only like 20 seconds. The most common trailers right now on tv are Harry Potter and Transformers. Big blockbusters like this can overshadow an indie film like AMH.

I never realized this but Brad has a nice shoe size, hmmmmm.

And yet even while all the representatives of the countries portrayed fearing that he might be Israeli Intelligence fought to save his life. Right now the United States can use all of the tolerance it can garner from every nation. Brad and Angie don’t need another dollar, they don’t need another award. However, we need to have this story told. I wonder if we had spent the money that has been spent on the Iraq war on the children of Darfur, the Sudan, Indonesia, Afganistan and our own if the rest of the world would want to commit acts of brutality against us.

I saw it on Friday night and know that I need to go back again. The really disgusting thing is that the people who are so violent about Brad and Angie aren’t kids. This is so not worth reposting. Every person is entitled to live their lives as they best can, without others attempting to impose their beliefs on them. This is the problem in the US now, a minority trying to impose their narrow religious beliefs on everyone, instead of accepting that people who are causing no harm to others have a right to live their lives as they see fit in peace. What about “judge not lest ye be judged”. What about taking care of your life and minding your own business. These comments point out how superior some feel, as if they are the chosen few, and therefore have no respect for anyone else who has different beliefs and cultures. Who the hel* is this person to criticize anything about how anyone else chooses to live their life or form their family. This is the same attitude possessed by a president that has started a war that has taken 20 lives this week, sacrifical lambs aged 19-32. And for what.

yep….some of them work with my org after high school….those days, the org encourages employee to go to school part time to get a degree….they still do…but now at your own time…..not their time like i did…went to school at night and weekends…..and you can easily get ahead in my org if you have a master degree or phd….not so much of working experience anymore…..and of course, the people that loves to kiss ass also get ahead faster :lol:

hey, i want to thank you for giving me all those info about paris and rome. it was good that you told me to group the different period history for rome. we didnt join any packaged tour, instead we bought those guided tour on each site. i was a bit disappointed at the vatican museum because it was too crowded and you cant backtrack. even i used a tour guide, there just wasnt any time to linger around much to take pictures. i didnt get to go to the borghese museum even i had reserved a time slot for the tour. as for paris, i love the city, and it was so easy to get around. we had a hard time finding st. Chapelle and once we found it, it was closed. we didnt go to Versailles (spelling?) palace since i only allot 3 1/2 days for paris. i bought euros from b of a and charged most of my expenses.

i want to ask you, in europe. are you supposed to tip?

Oh really? That must be your neck of the woods (pun intended) because where I live it was barely commmented on. Those here that know me know I’m black, and I don’t know too many people who batted an eye over it. Successful black men marrying white women is pretty much par for the course (pun inteded) these days. My friends rarely comment on it beyond, “She’s white…of course. (roll your eyes)” It’s not like I had a shot at him myself, so why trip over it?

#320: of course everybody wants to see Paris (except for a few like us here at JJ’s). They want to see how much weight she’s lost, if she looks like she’s been raped, mugged or had managed to get infected with head lice. That is what’s the public interest is for.

I’d be surprised if there was actually some genuine concern for her as a person. Sensationalism rule nowadays and there’s just not that many true journalists that exist anymore.
