@ Seriously Still laughing u dont see them talking about brad and angelina for lead stories on news cast u see that on entertainment shows. i mean my God ur country is at war and people are dying every day an the most important thing they have for a reporter to read is another PAris Hilton crap,,,,, and u wonder y so many countries hate america
I got a whole bunch of people to send MSNBC angry letters about them paying her a million bucks for her interview. They had a lighter? Do you think any of them actually smoke as professional SPEAKERS? It was staged to fight the bad publicity, which is why NBC is featuring something that, if it was random, they’d probably never show. STUNT.
It proves that “anchors” are mere READERS=puppets. The producers control what to be said on air. This one time this woman took control perhaps risking her job or disciplinary action. Good for her, but still she is just a puppet and it’s painfully clear she realized it.
Finally a journalist who wants to report on REAL NEWS!!!!
So many of them should be ashamed of themselves! FOX news is the WORST!
Hey, with huge corporate entitities like the ones that exist today, one can never put a staged incident. But my ever-optimistic mind must believe it is not so; were it to be an actual fake event, it would go to show that MSNBC (and modern news media in general) has not only shifted focus from hard news to entertainment, but that they would be willing to have their anchors do a singing and dancing act rather than report hard news. sigh.
BUT then again, even given the possibility this may be an act, I’m glad even for the words “Now, on to the REAL news” having been uttered. It acknowledges the ridiculousness of this new idea of “newsworthy material”. And that’s something.
Because it’s true…stories like these belong on E! and the like…maybe even The Daily Show and such. But not MSNBC. I’m looking forward to seeing whether the network actually changes their story lineup after this…. we’ll see…

It was not a stunt. Did you watch the clip? She was trying to be subtle and hide what she was talking about, but give the signal to her producers that she would not talk about this. Joe Scarborough was the one who called her out that she was talking about Paris. He and the other guy made an issue out of it to try to force her into doing the story. You could tell she was not faking. She felt very strongly that she should not lead with this story as it’s not news. It got erratic because they tried to force her to do something she was vehemently opposed to. They could have avoided it if they went along with her instead of forcing it. Good for her for standing up for what many people feel, and that is that things have gotten way too out of control, with Anna Nicole Smith coverage and everything else. There is no way Paris should have been a lead story. MSNBC and CNN need to be reporting news first. There is enough coverage of celebrities with E!, all the gossip shows like ET and the Insider, and all the gossip rags and blogs. CNN and MSNBC etc need to be reporting real news first and foremost. People are sick of this and it’s finally boiling over thank god! When things get too out of control, it needs to get corrected and that’s what’s happening now in our country. People are sick of too much focus on celebrity and celebutantes. We have gotten too irreponsible in that we’re ignoring important issues in this country.
Anyone who shuns Paris Hilton and those like her should definitely be applauded.
Some girls idolize those ******* and I can’t understand why when all they seem to do is devalue themselves and their family name.

i totally agree with what she’s done. who cares about paris hilton anyways? why is her getting out of jail even the slightest bit important? now that she’s out, what is she going to do, travel to africa to help the people who are STARVING? no. shes going to shop and shop. on her larry king interview she said that what she doesnt like about herself is that she sometimes talks in a ‘high voice when shes nervous or shy’. Paris Hilton is the first woman in US history to be tried by an Inquisition put on trial by rough Catholics for Heresy and Witchcraft.
Its such a big deal for a bunch of stupid Americans to know if Paris found god in jail. Paris is a scapegoat for a nation of cowards who must punish her for their lack of success in finding Osama bin laden. Now this Mika wants to get her little piece of fame in as the nation says ‘Hooray.’
All of you Paris Hilton haters are pathetic and this is exactly why we need a draft. Mika and her agnecy has made a morckery of news for years, this is why Americans vote in incompetents like Bush who makes mistakes after mistake but get reelected. Look back in time and you will find that Mika probably said that Saddam had weopons of mass destruction.
Paris never did a thing to any of you but Bush is making the real mockery here. The news hasn’t begun to cover real issues so this jealous ass named Mika may as well had read the Paris story.
Not familiar with the show, but whoever those two guys were… they’re total d***heads. They antagonize her to shred the story and make her own headline, but talk over her as she tries to redirect to “real news”.
that really wasn’t necassary to make a big stink out of it, i mean really, its her job to deliver news and if she doesnt want to do what the script tells her then she shouldn’t be a news anchor.
