OlderPeople & Us Weekly: To Paris or Not to Paris?
Us Weekly has blacked out Paris Hilton coverage this week, opting for a cover image of baby Suri sitting on daddy Tom Cruise’s lap. There won’t even be a mention of Paris in the magazine.
“When it came down to it, the staff and I felt what I believe a lot of people in America are feeling. Which is just enormous Paris fatigue,” US Weekly Editor Janice Min told The Associated Press on Tuesday. “I don’t think we even mention the city of Paris,” joked Min.
People magazine did the exact opposite, opting for an exclusive interview and photo with Paris (the photo shoot was held on Tuesday just hours after her release jail).
On her first sleepless nights in prison: “I was basically in the fetal position, basically in hysterics. [But] all of the inmates were very supportive. There were girls next to me. We could talk through the vents and they were just really sweet.”
On her medical condition: “The doctors were observing me while I was there. They explained to Sheriff [Lee] Baca that they thought I was having severe anxiety, panic attacks, claustrophobia.”
On people who doubt that she will change after her jail experience: “They’re wrong and they don’t know me. I’m a good person. I’m a compassionate person. I have a big heart. I’m sincere, and they’ll see.”
On getting out: “Just being able to hug my mom felt so great, and I really needed it ’cause I haven’t had a hug in a long time.”

I wonder if US blacked out coverage because they didn’t get the exclusive?? You know if they had gotten the chance at the first print interview they’d be all over it. Hmmmmm……
methinks that maybe min just couldn’t get the exclusive paris interview that people won? but i still like the idea of a paris freeze.

Actually, I LOVE the idea of a Paris “freeze.” Wouldn’t it be great if, for 30 days, we could be without Paris…and Britney, Jessica’s “girls”, Lindsay, Mischa, Peter and Kate, and for their own sake, the Brad Pitt Angelina family! And throw in a moratorium on baby pictures of the minor children of celebrities that are taken without parents’ permission. Wow!

US WEEKLY SAYS THEY WERE OFFERED THE EXCLUSIVE BUT TURNED IT DOWN. The Editor of US Weekly says they had the exclusive rights. The Hilton’s were asking for cash but when the NBC story got so much bad press for reportedly paying US Weekly told the Hilton’s they would do the story only if some of the cash they were going to pay was going to a charity. The Hilton’s said NO. They wanted all the money.
I won’t be buying PEOPLE magazine. Paris is not worth the ink.
I hope other magazines follow US Weekly and not cover her. I hope they freakin ban this idiot and her entire moronic family. Money obviously can’t buy class.

I think poor Shiloh seems to have inherited some of Daddy Brad’s Dippy Stoner genes. Both Zahara and whatshisname the first one AJ adopted, had way more personality and awareness at her age. Shiloh’s still super cute though.
I don’t care why US is Paris-free, I just know that for the first time I’m planning on buying that rag this week to show solidarity.
Our little Shiloh is gorgeous, she’s gonna be a knock-out when she grows up.

I Agree with you guys. The person named Famous is Instigating. His main goal is to entertain himself while people argue and go at it over the ignorant mess he says. Shiloh and all babies are beautiful to me. Personally I wish trashloids would not put babies on covers without parents permission. This particular trashmag is no friend to JP’s or most A-listers.
