Uma Thurman arrives at the Ara Pacis for Valentino’s Exhibition on Friday in Rome, Italy.
While other designers are unveiling their latest collections during Paris Fashion Week, Valentino is marking his 45th year as a designer in the city where he opened his first atelier in the 1960s. He even took the time to defend skinny models at a news conference.
“Designers have to show for the first time on the runway the clothes that they want to be seen, so automatically if the girls are skinny, the dresses are more attractive,” Valentino said. “If you put it on a girl and she’s a little heavy, not every dress looks sensational.”
On Thursday, Uma, 37, went sightseeing in Rome with her and ex-hubby Ethan Hawke’s 9-year-old daughter Maya and 5-year-old son Levon. With bodyguards on hand, the couple strolled along the Via Veneto, stopped at the Spanish Steps and visited the Vatican museum.

Did I miss something? Was Ethan with Uma, is that who JJ refers to as the couple? That would be awesome if they got back together. But I would also be shocked as she seems to have moved on a long time ago!

if they were back together he would probably give it as breaking news. he most likely means couple in a casual way.
somebody i know asked for an autograph from her at a restaurant. he told me the story afterwards, that she was so sweet and cool… he had no paper, nothing else so he gave the receipt of the dinner and gave it to her to sign. after signing it she asked if she needed to pay the check as well… talented, sexy, most likely funny and smart.
Tall gals have big feet. I’m 5′9″ amd wear a size 10 shoe and, there is always nothing but, CRAP in my size! So, I’m sure Uma has the same problem with shoes.

That dress looks great on Uma. Yet, she is not stick thin. No one said models need to be heavy, just a little more weight than those that have the starving look. As long as they’re tall the dress will hang right.
She is so beautiful, and she looks amazing as usual. Her kids are really cute.
