OlderBrad’s Back From Berlin
Brad Pitt arrives back at his home-away-from-home in Prague, Czech Republic after a quick trip to Berlin, where he had dinner with the dudes at Bandol Sur Mer restaurant.
After Brad’s bodyguard noticed the paparazzi, he ran across the street and shielded Brad from photographers.
It would seem Angelina and the kids didn’t make it out for this brief trip out to Germany but they’re back together now!
Other pictures include Brad back in LA late last year…
UPDATE: Added a couple shots of Brad filling up his Ducati on Tuesday at a gas station in Berlin, Germany after traveling for two days by motorcycle through the city. After re-fueling he stands in line at the register, still wearing his motorcylce helmet, before leaving again on his motorcycle (with a Czech licence plate).

Boring.. The same old motorcycle pictures. Daniel Radcliffe was on Live with Regis and Kelly today, and he said a trick celebs like him use to stay out of the tabloids is by wearing the same clothes everyday, so the paparazzi are taking the same pics everyday. They will get bored of the same pictures in the same clothing, so they won’t use those pictures. No wonder we see BP and AJ wearing the same clothes all the time.

AJ: First of all, I never do! I’ll be somewhere hanging with the kids, and I won’t know. I do live with the producer [Brad Pitt] so I may hear something [laughs]. The great thing about this film was that it was done very low budget. So we don’t have a lot of pressure. Nobody made it for the reason of making money. Expect the same or better from A Mighty Heart, Michael Winterbottom the director, and Angelina Jolie who will be nominated for her second Oscar.

The difference in time needs to taken into account when you see pixs from different time zones unless they are live like in Cannes, immediately transmitted, later posted, or sold. The pix of Brad outside his home in Prague may be from yesterday (Tuesday) or today (Wednesday). The pix of Brad in Berlin was taken in Berlin on Berlin Monday nite but not posted until Tuesday Berlin time. This interesting time related anonmaly was noted when they were in India and people constantly debated what day a pix was taken and so forth.
Brad make have ridden his motorcycle from Prague to Berlin and back to Prague. It would be an excellent way to avoid the paps and to travel in Europe. There were pixs shortly after their arival in Prague of the van delivery of a Ducati motocycle to their house. Brad and Angelina actually rode around NOLA and few realized who they were on their motorcycles.

The success of an actor does not necessarily mean that he is a good actor, but rather a big star.
Example: Audrey Hepburn (big movie star) and Meryl streep (excellent actress)

That’s one out of how many in HW. You are born with it, you can’t acquire it. Angelina also has it whatever it is. Pretty boys are a dime a dozen in hollywood, can be found on every street corner. How many have the career longevity and success and superstardom that Brad has had? Johnny Deep and Tom Cruise (and he is not so pretty these days) are the only other pretty boys around Brad’s age that come to my mind. George Clooney is a few years older but was never considered a pretty boy.
Beauty in a woman plays for her, beauty in a man often plays against him at award time. Look at Paul Newman and Cary Grant. Brad has been under rated by many as an actor because he is so dam* good looking. He has been discounted as a pretty boy no matter that he has taken on so many off the wall roles that played against the pretty boy looks. He often played that polished pretty boy when on the red carpet with the X, both looking like Ken and Barbie clones which unfortunatley reinforced his pretty boy image in the minds of many.
Johnny Depp has had the same problem. He is finally making lots of money from the Pirates movies but how many awards has he won?
Brad today finally has shed the pretty boy image and is a handsome MAN, and this is a wonderful thing to see. Angelina and his becoming a father has added a depth to him that was not there before. It is palbable, it is a grrr factor that was hidden somewhere in his inner soul but was invisible. Brad the man has arrived.

The Flames of Hope
A Berkeley physicist has found a way to help keep Darfurians alive, by building a better kitchen stove.
By Barrett Sheridan
July 16, 2007 issue - As for so many of us, the genocide in Darfur was merely an abstraction to Ashok Gadgil, a scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California. But in September 2004 he got a call from the U.S. Agency for International Development. Could Gadgil design a screw press for Darfurians, the caller asked, so they could turn their garbage into biofuel pellets? “I quickly showed him that there is not enough kitchen waste in home cooking to produce much worthwhile fuel,” the physicist says, and USAID dropped the idea. But the problem continued to nag at him. Eventually Gadgil decided that if he couldn’t redesign the fuel, he would redesign the stove.
The violence in Darfur has not only left at least 200,000 dead but devastated the already arid landscape. More than 2 million people now fill groaning refugee camps; as they hunt farther and wider for firewood, they are denuding whole swaths of the countryside. Gathering firewood can now mean a seven-hour round trip, during which women risk rape and mutilation at the hands of the Janjaweed militias that lurk in wait. (Men can’t make the trip in their stead—they’ll simply be killed.) A fact-finding visit to the region in late 2005 brought home the problem’s urgency to Gadgil. “A huge majority of people were missing at least one meal a week because they did not have fuel to cook with,” he says. In a sick Catch-22, many families were selling some of their food in exchange for the wood to cook it with.
Gadgil, a 56-year-old Mumbai native, had experience developing simple, life-saving technology. One of his patents—a cheap method for disinfecting waterusing ultraviolet light—led to a successful business start-up in 1996. The resulting company, WaterHealth International, now provides affordable clean water for more than 1 million people in the developing world. After returning from Darfur, Gadgil worked with lab colleagues and students at UC Berkeley to modify an existing Indian stove for Darfurians’ needs. “Cook stoves, although they look simple, are very complex creatures,” he says, “which is why you can’t simply sit in Berkeley and say, ‘Well, this is the stove for you’.” While the Indian stove excelled at producing low-intensity heat for cooking rice, for instance, Darfurians needed a high-powered flame for sautéing onions, garlic and okra, ingredients in their staple dish, mulah. And since most families cook outside, the stove also needed to cope with the region’s strong winds.
The result of their efforts is the Berkeley-Darfur stove (darfurstoves.org), a hollow drum that looks like a cross between a lunar landing craft and a stop sign. Designed with a smooth airflow to fuel the fire and an upper rim that fits snugly with different-size pots, the stove requires 75 percent less wood than an open fire, and a wind collar makes for a steady flame. That means fewer risky trips outside the camp. And those who now pay for firewood, Gadgil estimates, could save as much as $200 a year, which could be used instead for luxuries like new clothing and fresh meat.
The next step is mass production. Gadgil and his partners in Berkeley have teamed with two nonprofits, Engineers Without Borders and CHF International, to set up workshops in Sudan. (The project is funded by USAID and individual donors.) They hope ultimately to distribute stoves to nearly all 300,000 refugee families. Brian Tachibana, a volunteer with EWB, ran into resistance when he first visited Khartoum last September to find manufacturers. Presented with a gleaming prototype that had been made in Berkeley, local craftsmen declared firmly, “There’s no way you can build this in Sudan.” Tachibana needed to tweak the production method—substituting hand shears for high-pressure water jets, for example—to arrive at a workable, low-tech solution.
Gadgil and EWB have yet to settle on a distribution plan. They won’t be handing the stoves out as charity—”Giving something away turns the recipients into beggars,” Gadgil says—but at $25 apiece, the devices are out of the reach of most families. Gadgil favors some sort of leasing plan, allowing families to rent the stove for about 50 cents a week. I do not consider People magazine to be a Tabloid. They do not print malicious lies that all the tabloiuds print. They tens to be far more positive than that. I have to disagree. If the heat was being taken off Brad and Angie wouldn’t be mention in this poll.
Brad and Angie are being used once again. Extra is telling you that by putting them in their poll. They are basically saying we have to use them in order to make people sit up and take notice of the Beckhams.

Real Tita: I remember reading the same thing and it made me very happy at that time to be reading that because it meant that Brad and Angie were a couple. It could have been a tabloid though. IMO in the beginning of their relationship US magazine and some other tabloids had bits and pieces of truths because I don’t think the JPs were that guarded against them, however, since the JPs have sealed all their leaks, I think they were reduced to inventing stories week after week. I don’t believe that Brad and Angelina will ever not be news, or the Jolie-Pitt brood either. Paul Newman is 80+ and is still in the news from time to time,even if only when he says he will not film anymore. Someone will always be interested.
I think the comments were saying that the huge emphasis and dependence on Brad and Angelina news will decrease as the Beckhams take center stage in hollywood. This would be good news for them.
Plus many young people find Brad and Angelina “boring” and that is also a good them for them. They also find the whole false tabloid created “triange” “boring”, as for many of them JA has dropped off their radar, and families doing family things are not exciting at all. The Harry Potter age group has new celebrities that they focus on closer to their ages.

Glad that Brad had some time to hang with his friends, while it’s great seeing him completely enjoying the pleasures of parenthood, it’s always good to maintain old friendships as well.

The celeb shows also had a field day with it because there were a lot of people around during that shoot and Mad wasn’t shy about asking where his daddy was. He was loud in his panic when he couldn’t see Brad from where he was at.

If you mean never mention them as truly let go, then I just don’t believe that the tabs will ever truly let go to that extent. What super stars have ever fallen totally off the tab radar screen? It’s true, I agree that there will always be some level of interest in the Jolie-Pitts. It’s weird because I’ve never really been that interested in a specific celeb before but I absolutely adore my Angie. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Brad until I took the time to actually read up on him and the work that he does. So I am happy for them both. Regardless of what happens in the future, they are bound to the children for life and I am confident they’re firm in that committment.
Every now and then, especially when I see how quickly Madd is growing, I just sort of picture the Jolie-Pitt brigade rolling out onto the party scene 20 or so years from now - probably fewer. Madd, Z, Shi, Pax and whomever else has been added to the gang. Big brothers Madd and Pax keeping the undesirables from their younger sisters. Angie and Brad at home waiting anxiously to hear from the bodyguards that all is well, Angie remembering all that she got up to at that age. Which of the girls will be the bigger headache/rebel, Z or Shi? Just the idea makes me chuckle.

I ain’t going to argue with jenalunatics but all I can say is why bother when Angelina is a certified icon in Hollywood while Jennifer is just… what? She is just struggling in the movie industry. She can act but not in a deeper level of a great actress. She makes some interesting publicities that always has something to do with the Jolie-Pitts but other than that, she has nothing. All she can be remembered of is playing the role of Rachel. Again other than that she is NADA, nothing, null. She exists like any ordinary Hollywood stars who has lots of money to live by. Again, other than that, she is nothing… no substance.
I am content with this idea and I hope other Angie fans will just have to sit back and relax and enjoy the ride of one of the most powerful couple with a lot of guts and substance and pride in Hollywood. That is The Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Brad is an adventuresome and somewhat fearless person. Angelina and Brad certainly share those characteristics. Remember in Vietnam when they asked him if he needed any assistance getting around on the scooter and he said we’ll be fine. Well now we see that he travelled from Prague to Berlin and back to Prague on his motorcycle without any bodyguard. The two of them really find ways to live the lives they want to on their own terms as much as they possibly can.
Angelina has only been working on Wanted for about six weeks total. She began around May 4th or so, worked 3 weeks, then a week in Cannes, then a week back in Prague, then 2 weeks in LA and NYC, and then back to Prague for 2 weeks at the end of this week. Wish I had that work schedule. LOL.
