Here are some highlights from Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s ultra-glam wedding ceremony and reception via OK! magazine, which paid a hefty $2 million for exclusive rights to wedding coverage.
The ceremony The couple opted for a traditional Roman Catholic wedding at the Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois church in Paris. The Rev. Dominic Schubert officiated. “We added the Mexican traditions, with the lazo (large rosary) and the dimes, the Bible readings and the lighting of the unity candle,” Longoria says.
Celebrity guests Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Sheryl Crow, Jessica Alba, Ryan Seacrest, Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry, who said in his wedding speech that the couple couldn’t have kids this year because it’s not in the script. “We’re fine with that,” Longoria says. “We want to spend time with each other, even though we want kids very much.”
The gown and bouquet Longoria wore a silk and georgette organza gown and 10-foot train designed by Angel Sanchez and estimated at more than $75,000. The bride carried a bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchid stems and crystal blush calla lilies.

The theme Celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss coordinated the big day, which featured a red theme. Rose-red buses transported guests from the church to the reception at Château de Vaux le Vicomte, and the five-tier wedding cake was red.
The cake Asked about the cake a few weeks ago, Parker dismissed reports that it would be imported. It was, however: Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings in Napa Valley, Calif., created a vanilla-bean pound cake filled with crushed organic raspberry preserves and white buttercream. “You don’t see a wedding cake like this very often,” Godfrey tells OK!. “It has a little flair, but it’s really simple and sophisticated.”

Reception: A ’70s music group played songs by James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and more.
Father/Daughter dance: A mariachi band played for Eva and her father’s dance.

Call me old fashioned, but I never understood why a bride wears her hair down. You pay several hundred dollars to get your hair done and it looks like you just stepped out of a shower…it looks so boring to me. I personally don’t like Eva Longoria and I could care less about her wedding…but I hope, as a Hollywwood couple it lasts longer than 2 years. For as much money as she spent, nothing looks insanely extravagant…maybe that was the point. But, she does look beautiful though.

She looks very pretty. I like that she kept her hair down. Women always think they need to do something “extra” and they come off looking too old and nothing like themselves. Their husbands usually live to see them as they really are - as they love them - without the fussy updos that are rarely flattering and the ridiculous “professional” make-up that makes them look like clowns. Simple is usually beautiful.
I also like that she wore something other that the typical and so conforming strapless bridal gown that has become a cliche.
Weddings aren’t the Oscars. They should be for those involved that day. They could have skipped the tacky unity candle. How did that get to be a part of wedding ceremonies anyway? The fact that this is her second wedding and this is so over the top, well, we won’t go there.
I do hope they made some VERY generous contribution to some cause equal to the amount they spent on the wedding. Now that would be Catholic.

all i remember is the ryan seacrest interview with these two and ryan asked them if they were each others soulmates and stupid eva was like absolutely and tony was so damn hesitant and eventually had to settle with I dont know we’ll see. Wow, I can’t believe how mean some people can be. If their looks don’t please you, that is a matter of opinion. But obviously, others disagree with you. She has been on the cover of Maxim’s Top 100 Beautiful Women and he was one of the 50 sexist people.
And as for her B-list friends, hello… Victoria Beckman, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx… that doesn’t sound B-list to me. Not to mention all of the Spurs players, who have been NBA champions 4 times. Naturally, the focus would be on the Desperate Housewives crew because that is who she works with.
And about the “wedding of the year” comments, that is all based on media. You are always going to get that when you have two celebrites. I didn’t care about TomKat’s wedding but it got as much attention, if not more. It is the wedding of the year because you have Hollywood and NBA MVP champion. There is always attention when Artist meets Athlete…. Victoria & David, Ashley Judd and her NASCAR guy, Anna and Julio Iglesias, and countless other football/model hookups.
And as for the longevity thing, maybe it will work, maybe it won’t. But being a huge San Antonio Spurs fan, I say Tony has some good role models as far as being good husbands - David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Malik Rose, Manu Ginobili, etc. These guys don’t go looking for the multi-million dollar endorsements, because they like their simple life. And if you look at their spouses, they all seem to be “plain vanilla.” But that is why they have a good home life.
I think Eva got excited about this wedding, as most brides do. She didn’t have the church wedding the first time around. She may be thinking this may actually work considering Tony’s values. And she is Mexican, as people have stated, and she is small town (Corpus), so I think her values will match those of Tony and gives their marriage some hope.
Of course… nobody wants to hear or read about that part because it is not Hollywood… or because it won’t let them be hateful and say all those nasty things.

either. But in her defense I saw her and Tony Parker at the St. Regis in Bora Bora last year and frankly without makeup she still is quite attractive. So, lets be fair she did seem a little disappointed when Nicole Kidman showed up and everyone knew who she was and people were still asking who Eva was! She does seem to be a media hog and that’s why she went canon balling off her deck knowing the media just feet away with their camera’s on boats. So much for all the privacy she claimed to want.

J’ai animé un mariage sur Marseille (je suis dj) ce 7 juillet 2007 et le sujet de discussion n°1 de la soirée a été le mariage d’Eva & Tony ce qui a un peu fatigué les mariés… mais le lieu de réception était aussi un peu moins class que le château de vaux-le-vicomte.
