OlderPosh: We Want to Embrace American Culture
Posh Spice, otherwise known as Victoria Beckham, speaks with The Today Show’s Matt Lauer to “clear up some misconceptions about her sometimes sour disposition, her family’s move to L.A., and her much-publicized friendship with Katie Holmes.”
On accepting American culture: “We are so excited about America. We want to embrace the culture with open arms. This is a huge move for us, for our children. You know, David takes his career very seriously. This is a big, big deal for us.”
On some people thinking she always looks too serious: “I know. It’s always about the outfit, you know? … At the end of the day there’s always a lot of press around. They select the pictures they want. They make you look the way they want you to look. It’s an image. I think there are some people that would be quite devastated should I actually smile or look pleasant, for that fact.”
On not being as famous as other couples in Los Angeles: “We have a great life. But we are relatively private, you know? And there are so many really famous people in LA. I mean, we always joke about it and say, ‘You know, you got Brad Pitt. You got Angelina Jolie. You got Tom. You got Katie. I mean, we’ll just be Victoria and David.”
On her BFF Katie Holmes: “She’s a very strong, sweet, lovely girl. She’s helped me so much with the move. She’s genuinely a nice girl. Wonderful family.”
On how frequent she cleans the toilet bowl: “Every now and then. In a pinch.”

I couldn’t agree more with Kim.
Its none of our business if they gets photographed or not.
Both the Beckhams and Brangelina pictures are worth millions but unlike Brangelina, the Beckhams don’t go round doing photoshoots with their kids. Thats the whole point of being relatively private.

So by taking their kids to school, or to an art shop, or buying them ice cream brangelina are going round doing photoshoots? So are you telling me that Victoria taking her kids to dysneyland or to another excusion with Brooklyn few months ago is not doing photoshoots with the kids? Geesh, what a nice way to contradict yourself.
You’ve just said both Brangelina and Beckhams can’t help to be photographed. Let’s wait few months then, when the school period will start. Let’s see if you’re right, when the papies will pursue the Beckhams kids to their school gates and anywhere else their parents might take them with them. Let’s see if you’ll come around and say the same thing you’re saying there.
It will be interesting to see if David can change the face of soccer in USA. It will be very interesting. Often the paps follow people but this doesn’t mean that the public embraces them. For example Tom and Katie ++ pictures and every move watched but common people think he is nuts, britney spears ++ pictures but again common people think she is crazy, Brad and Angie ++ pictures and interviews but common people don’t support much. Noticed in the fact that her last two movies have not done well, low TV ratings etc. The press often picks on certain people but that doesn’t mean that they actually have much power except in the tabloids.
Lovey the photo shot etc. and constant need for attention actually made the public more interested. Example look at Brad and Angie W shot, this got alot of talk and people found them more interesting. All the famous people who are out there create this. For example Tom and Katie sell wedding pictures have a large spread in Vanity Fair with their child etc. Lots of talk and pictures. Britney Spears sells pictures and talks alot with racey photo shots, lots of talk. Angie and Brad sells pictures of their children, ++ photo shots and talk about personal life, lots of talk. Compare Johnny Depp. No photo shots, no selling of pictures not much about their private life. Matt Damon same situation. these two are huge stars and the public embrace them but they have created a life that does not include this type of behavior. Imagine is Johnny and Vanessa did a W sexy photo shoot, sold pictures of their children, etc. The paps would be after them much more. Remember Jen L and Ben. Lots of pictures and talk. They created the situation. Jen G and Ben could have done the same but didn’t. People who are photographed all the time by the paps have created this. The constant pictures and talk however does not help their careers in fact it actually makes the American public sick of them and works against them. This will probably happen with these two.
However you have to give it to the families who parade their children around and try to look good. Everyone know they have nannies but they are never seen in public (i.e. tom and katie, posh and becks, angie and brad). Gotta love that. Image as good parents is very important.

She just stated in an interview that it was a hard time for her when he cheated but she stayed because of the kids and she loves him…Which I think is total bull..she stayed because she wants to remain an A-list celeb because she knows if she was not married to him 1. He would have moved on with someone else and they would be the A-list couple and 2. No one would care about her and she would fade away just like the rest of the spice girls, which is sad because she should make it about her kids and not her hunger for fame and the spotlight. Also, for everyone else who claims they are such a happy couple, please be realistic, they might now and then have a pleasure moment, but we all know, as humans, once your significant other cheats on you, you do not trust them and go nuts wondering what they are doing when they are not with you (David is always away due to his profession). I think at this point in their relationship, its just business, which is kind of sad. :(

All you people who say if we don’t like them we should leave them alone, nice try, PR grunts, but if YOU don’t like what we write about this dopey couple (the truth) tough sh#t. This is the fugliest couple there is right now. They don’t have a good marriage (both cheaters) and Victoria stuck around because she can’t stand the thought that another woman (much better looking) would take her place. He sticks around because he knows how expensive a divorce will be, and he can still cheat (with (GOOD looking women) when he’s off with soccer. This is a crap marriage and everyone knows it, so they try this horrendous photo thing and a worse interview to try to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Not enough wool on the planet, though, to pull off that big of a snow-job. David needs to reel in that fugly b#tch, she is making a laughing stock out of him. If I’m not mistaken, didn’t Brangelina sell pictures of newborn Shiloh to some magazine? I think thats what people are trying to bring out here! They are constantly appearing on magazine shoot with their kids where as the Beckhams kids are only photographed like you said, when they are going to school, mcdonalds etc. Bt they have no choice, how can they stop hundreds of paps from taking pictures of their kids? attack them like Britney? But other than that the Beckhams don’t sell photos or publicise their kids as much as Brangelina.
Everyone talks about how she gets so much attention for doing nothing, if you don’t like it they why are you giving it to her? Reading articles and watching things on the Beckhams helps to increase their popularity. If we don’t buy the tabloid **** eventually people will stop publishing it! The Beckhams are everything people want to be, famous for being famous. Victoria was an awesome singer with the Spice Girls and David and awesome football player, they married and it made a double phenomenon, they’re famous just for being themselves.

Is she really a private person? I have never seen another person seek publicity so actively. Talk about name-dropping. Of all the people in the world whose names she could call, she quickly links herself to AJ and BP; the most photographed couple in the world (For those who think it is V and D, you are mistaken by a looooooong shot). The whole W spread thing she and David did was inspired by the shoot that Brad and Angelina did, which by the way was so much more tasteful (Brad and Angie’s I mean). Immediately after the AJ media fiasco during AMH, Posh deliberately chose to do the same thing just for attention and to be linked to AJ again.
These are two people who would do anything for attention. She claims to be private yet has done nothing but pimp herself in front of the cameras for the benefit of American audiences since before moving here. Come on Posh, we’re not all stupid. You like the attention, that’s your business, but don’t start lying about it.
As much as Katie Holmes aspires to be VB, VB is dying to be Angelina Jolie. Not gonna happen. Angelina is a down-to-earth unpretentious person. Posh would do better hooking up with the PC dolls…sure she’ll have more fun with them. AJ is more interested in making a positive difference in the world than she is about dressing for the camera everyday.
