Justin Timberlake is Bringing BBQ Back
Singer / actor / fashion designer and now restaurateur Justin Timberlake will be having the grand opening of his Southern Hospitality restaurant in NYC on Wednesday.
Southern Hospitality will be serving “Cracker Cuisine,” Memphis-style food inspired by Timberlake family recipes. The restaurant will also be decorated by items found in Memphis flea markets.
The Tennessee-born star will run the restaurant with BFF business pals Eytan Sugarman and Trace Ayala.
This is not Timberlake’s first restaurant venture, the singer is also the man behind dim sum joint, Chi, on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Southern Hospitality is located at 1460 Second Ave (on 76th Street).

And I don’t believe Justin is the only person involved in that other restaurant (Chi); I believe it’s run with other celebrities (Ashton Kutcher, for one).
I agree with Davidson. The celebrities are used for their name. They may have invested some money in the project but normally it is the brain child of someone else.

BBperfume, you couldn’t be anymore wrong, for every celebrity restaurant that’s a success there’s Tons that Flop and don’t even make it past a year. This goes with clothing lines etc etc…

I don’t see anything wrong with celebrity investing their money in things. It’s their money, and at the end of the day their business people. I do like the exterior of this restaurant, and it sounds appealing. I’ll check it out, and give it a try.

I lvoe a good BBQ! With it being Southern style. I’m sure it will be tasty. Too bad there, is nothing like that down in San Juan Capistrano, CA-where I live. Nothing but sheeit where, I live!

Y’all are hating on it, and have never eaten there! For all you know, it might be damn good. Truthfully, “over-fancy” NYC grub with small portions and insane prices is getting old. Some good, southern BBQ could very well be a welcome addition.
Don’t hate, just for the sake of hating. If it sucks, we’ll know soon enough. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere…..but NYC is a tough crowd to please.

You need to get your facts straight before you claim things that aren’t true. Justin has another restaurant in NYC called Destino’s which has been open for a couple years and is very successful. He didn’t own the restaurant in LA, he was just an investor in it. Therefore, they used his name and his money but he had nothing to do with the running of the place, which by the way got bought out a couple months ago so now Justin has nothing to do with the place.

You know something, I’ve been a J.T fan since I was 6 and I’m going on 21 already. How ignorant of most of you that don’t even know how to spell, to judge someone you’ve never met. My father has been working for justin for more than a couple of years and he is such an amazing person. Yes, he has money lots of it. He makes it by doing what he loves. And if he wants to invest in a place or two oh well its his money in the end. Stop hating. Grow up and accept ppl for what ever they may be. Grow up America etc…
