Here is a side-by-side comparison of Tom Cruise dressed in his role as a Nazi German, the real Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, whom he plays in his latest historical thriller Valkyrie.
Cruise has been filming in Berlin with director Bryan Singer (X-Men 2, Superman Returns). Valkyrie, which based on the true story of the German officers’ plot to assassinate Hitler in 1944, is set for a Aug. 8, 2008 release.

Tom Cruise is an excellent actor whatever we may think about his religious beliefs. I have followed his career since the beginning and never been disappointed with any of his performances, some of which were superb. He looks very like Staffenberg in the photos and I only hope that the film will do justice to the memory of that brave man and the tragic events of the second World War.
That guy looked more like Ralph Fiennes.
Tom’s huge snozz makes the dead guy look better. I don’t mind Tom as a actor, but what is he trying to imitate Schlinder’s list?

Actually Cruise has had box office flops… two of them, for sure. Legend and Far and Away. So saying that he “doesn’t make box office flops”, isn’t quite correct. The fanatics will watch this movie and the Sea Org members will be made to watch it…. but not EVERYONE will waste their money on it.
Tom’s haircut for his acting role looks great on him–a big improvement over the mop top style he’s been wearing lately. He also looks like he’s lost some weight.

If Cruise’s character wanted to assassinate Hitler, how in the hell is he a Nazi German? That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

He was a soldier first and impressed by the Wehrmacht’s first fast successes.
