First ‘Leatherheads’ Movie Still

First ‘Leatherheads’ Movie Still

Here is the first movie still from screwball comedy Leatherheads, a fictionalized account of the origins of the NFL.

George Clooney plays the coach of a wannabe pro football team in the 1920s.

The Office’s John Krasinski plays the World War I hero/star football player.

“At that time, the NFL was just a bunch of guys smashing heads in cornfields,” Krasinski said. “(He) realizes that if he can get a star college player, more people will come to see these quote-unquote professional teams.”

Renee Zellweger gets caught in a love triangle with Clooney and Krasinski’s characters.

Joked Krasinski: “All the ladies can rest assured, George Clooney will always win. I’m no match for him.”

Leatherheads, directed and co-written by Clooney, is set for a Dec. 7 release.

Wrong Again Jared. This film was not co-written by George Clooney. Sports Illustrated writer Rick Reilly and a former SI intern wrote the screenplay for this film 15 years ago.

SI LOYALIST > actually you’ve got it wrong. Clooney re-wrote the script by Rick Reilly and the SI intern.

Love Renee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love krasinski!

John Krasinski over George Clooney, any day, any time! Nothing sexier than a man with a sense of humour.

Clooney’s got a pretty good sense of humour too Jennifer H. Check out, well, just about any interview he’s ever given.

Just wanted to say I worked on this film and met George, John and Renee. They are all great people. Though I never actually filmed with John. I love that film still. I actually sat in that room. Not while they were filming that particular scene though. Anyway it is true George rewrote this script originally written as a drama by Duncan Brantley. George changed it to a comedy. It should be great. He actually has another script by Mr. Brantley currently in the scriptwriting stage I believe. It will take place in NC.

i can’t wait to see this movie i love john and just saw license to wed and was lets say less then blown away so hopefully this movie will help bump up johns movie star status
