Older54 Dogs Get Vick-timized
NFL star Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with running a dogfighting ring out of his mansion in Virginia. His arraignment before a federal judge will be in Richmond on July 26.
AOL News reports, “54 pit bulls were recovered from the property during searches in April, along with a “rape stand,” used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs; and a bloodied piece of carpeting, the documents said.”
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said: “We agree with them that dogfighting is cruel, degrading and illegal. The alleged activities are very disturbing and we are extremely disappointed Michael Vick has put himself in this position.”

He should be assigned to community service for the rest of his life to eradicate all dog fighting in the U.S. with expansion to other countries. Make lemonade out of lemons. People are not garbage, but their actions can be despicable. If he can turn his life around, he can show others how to do the same. He should be made to seek counseling and treatment to get to the source of his rage. All “acting out” that humans do is but a reflection/projection of how they feel about themselves. It’s time to stop the insanity.
Making him suffer is only doing the same thing that he was doing to the dogs. If we don’t wake up and stop the viscious cycle of abuse, all we get is more of the same.

why anyone would want to put Vick into a pen of crazy dogs is beyond me. there needs to be justice in the system and sadly there isn’t. if he doesn’t receive equal punishments for his crimes i’m going to be very disappointed once again. if they take his career away it’s his fault but i don’t wish it upon him.
people who run dogfights or any other fight can get addicted. he has a problem and should fix it.
like everyone is saying there is a difference (might not be a big difference) with conducting fights like these and killing animals for game. holding fights is just a waste, i’m sure most people are not eating the dead dogs… for game, sure they find fun in killing the animals but they pay for the meat and they eat it.

It is my understanding that the evidence is circumstantial. I think that Michael Vick deserves “DUE PROCESS”. He is INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY. I will not be getting in touch with the Atlanta Falcons. They have enough pressure on them. I live in Atlanta. I will believe Mike Vick is innocent until proven otherwise. I am a DOG lover.

At what point will people realize that animal cruelty is an insight into a human beings TRUE core of who they are. Animals, especially dogs are dedicated animals, they have been for centuries and will continue to be so - if they are expected to kill for their owners they will but in this instance this is just WRONG!!!!! To taunt and stave an animal to make it want to kill is so against what the animal feels as an instinct. If this man was not a first stinger with Nike and every other endorsement in the pipe he would be kicked to the curb. Please Atlanta make a statement not just for the animals in this situation but for anyone out there that feels that the amount of zeros in your bank account will not keep them from paying a price for doing something wrong.
