54 Dogs Get Vick-timized

54 Dogs Get Vick-timized

NFL star Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with running a dogfighting ring out of his mansion in Virginia. His arraignment before a federal judge will be in Richmond on July 26.

AOL News reports, “54 pit bulls were recovered from the property during searches in April, along with a “rape stand,” used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs; and a bloodied piece of carpeting, the documents said.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said: “We agree with them that dogfighting is cruel, degrading and illegal. The alleged activities are very disturbing and we are extremely disappointed Michael Vick has put himself in this position.”

Below is one of the dogs that were seized from Vick’s property.

Once again, people are qucik to judge.

YES, dog fighting adn animal cruelty is awful, awful, awful…BUT Michael Vick’s property was used for this dog fight.

HE did not engage in the dog fighting.

HE was not present when it was happening.

Also, is he the only one? How many people do you know that engage in dog fighting?

Also, do all of you eat chicken, beef, lamb - do you wear fur coats? Do you wear leather shoes and bags?

Diamonds anyone?

Where do you think your big mac comes from? Soy beans?

What hypocrites. All of you are doing far worst by engaging in carniverous activity like eating animals - animals who are abused and tortured before they end up on your fancy restaurant plate.

How dare you wag your finger at him when you are all guilty?

Just cause your chickens are not being devoured by each other does not mean they were not tortured before you had your grilled chicken caesar sandwich so shut the hell up all of you!

I am a vegetarian and have been for years - so cut the hypocrisy all of you.

“Team Lora Croft” is full of ****.

Dog fighting is ******* illegal, don’t you get it???

It is ILLEGAL in this country.

I hope this heartless beast gets tortured the way these animals were tortured.

I wish this many people were angry at the thousands of kids murdered and raped in Darfur.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

So true. People will turn the channel when a starving child in Darfur is dying. People do not get angry at this. They will not condemn this.

But an animal? Well, people can be detached from animals because animals can’t talk back. People have more control over animals so loving them over people gives people a sense of self-worth and an illusion of being good when tehy can’t be good to people.

I am a vegeterian - for health reasons rather than some huge political reason. However, when Anderson Cooper takes his cameras to Darfur and shows kids whose skin is dropping from malnourishment, I get very involved and attentive.

Rightfully so we should fight for animal rights but why are you not this angry at starving babies?

The answer lies in the racist comments above. Someone said it so eloquently. We are willing to fight for animals and show them respect but the first chance tat same animal loving person gets to use the “N” word - he takes it. I can’t think of anything that is more insightful than that contradiction. How sad we humans can be.

Dimwit, do you have reading comprehension challenges???
I know it is illegal. My mom is an attorney thank you very much. I understand the law, stuptard.

WHat I said is: LEGALLY, there is no case against Michael Vick nor can we prove his guilt YET. His PROPERTY was used. He was not present. We have NO proof that he was involved in this. So we have to wait and see. We cannot be quick to judge yet.

I did NOT say the act was ok, I said we are quick to judge him when he was not present during the fights for all we know he may not have been aware of what was going on on this Virginia property where this took place.

THAT IS what I said. DO they not have first grade in Alabama stuptard?????

P.S.: I’ll try to write in simple English so you can absorb this somehow: you did not answer my question. How many leather coats and shoes do you own? Do you eat chicken? Beef? Lamb? Turkey for Thanksgiving?

DO you know hwo chickens are bred? Do you know what is done to them before they are sold to your local Piggly Wiggly? ANswer that and tell me you are not being a hypocrite.

YES, dog fighting is illegal but how is unleashing a dog in the middle of a fight and then killing him different than taking innocent animals and killing them JUST to stuff your fat face stuptardd?

Team Lara Croft

i don’t think you should generalize all of us as being hypocrites. sure i eat meat but i do not like the idea of torture these animals endure before they reach my plate. i thank my meat, i pay for my meat, i put it to good use. i will not become a vegetarian to make matters better for animals and you shouldn’t point your finger at me. i would appreciate it if you instead didn’t reprimand “us” but instead try to teach us something beneficial in an effective way.

and it’s great how you think all of us don’t know what’s going around in other countries.

I want Michael “the monster” Vick put in a cage where he belongs for the rest of his life and beaten to a bloody pulp by other inmates with dogs

what a disgusting beast and poor excuse for a human being

I have 3 dogs and can’t imagine how anyone could ever, ever hurt a poor living creature like that! What a sick and twisted world we live in……

oh and btw for anyone who’s going to call me a hypocrite, I don’t eat meat and find bullfighting just as cruel and sick…….and hunting is sick also

Your post is beyond brilliant.

Clearly a thinking person. And some of the things you brought up, I did not know - about the horses being put to death. Wow. Thank you for that.

Yeah, I wonder how many red state hunters and NRA hunters will go after Vick.

Ok to kill deer but not ok to kill bulldogs huh?

Well, you kow hunting is a gentleman’s sport - the blue bloods do it so it’s ok but dog fighting - that’s for the little people so take them to the gas chamber. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!

I have been saying for years that hunting animals is wrong, wrong, wrong, but then you’ll see some creep like Ted Nugent come on TV and run his trap about his rights and his American rights to own guns for hunting and blah blah blah.

Now that Vick is in the center of this - everyone is mad. What about Nugent who hunts for fun?

Hypocrites Hypocrites Hypocrites.

“Team Lora Croft” - what a dummy you are. “My mummy is an attorney and I am a vegetarian.” You know nothing.

“He was not present.” What else is he going to say? 66 live dogs + 30 dogs that could have been buried, rape stands, electric treadmills, pry bars to open the clamped mouths of dogs, a bloodied piece of carpeting….in his house…and he has no ******* idea what’s going on. There is PROOF that he was involved.

Emotionless, spoiled, lowlife, scumbag criminal.

I only wish that these poor animals could voice their opinion of what they think of this animal, http://www.workingpitbull.com/dogfighting.htm.

humans have the ability to fight back

the reason people get like this when the abuse is concerning animals or babies is not because they like to dominate them, but because they lack the ability to fight back- they’re helpless to cruelty. Humans (adults mainly) can defend themselves in most situations or get help, animals don’t have that option.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Well how convenient of an argument. You paid for your meat and so the fact that you paid for it lessens the torture the animal went through to end up on your plate???

Look , I understand people (especially poor people) cannot afford to not eat what is readily available and sometimes that is meat. Ok, I get it.

WHat I am criticizing is the hypocrisy of people in general.

They are quick to get really really upset at the act of animal torture that they see but somehow when they have to protect their own lifestyle, they close their eyes to how THEY engage in hurting animals.

Whether out of necessity or ignorance, let’s face it - MOST people in America are hurting animals. Period. No ifs or buts about it.

So don’t be too quick to judge this guy, when most Americans are meat eaters or have a million leather goods in their closet. Don;t get me started on the fur coats.

And like I said, what about Ted Nugent and the many many hunters in America. Why are we not as equally angry at them?
Posters above have called Vick the “N” word. WHat does race have to do with any of this? BTW, What will those people call Ted Nugent?

logistically there is a difference between hunting and killing animals for meat. but i’d like to think i could be given a little credit that yes i do eat meat but i do my best to make sure that the animals who have died for me don’t go unappreciated. i’m not saying that there’s anything that needs to be taken into consideration when discussing the right and wrong about killing animals.

but there is more to think about when drawing a line about peoples’ morals. if Team Lara Croft’s main goal is to put them self on a pedestal in this discussion then they’re hardly succeeding. i only ask what the real argument is here.

Oh, don’t be jealous that my mom does not work at Piggly Wiggly like yours.

And of course, you once again failed to answer my questions:

What did you have for dinner the last 7 days? All herbs, grains and no meat?

What are you wearing? No leather goods?

What is your family eating on their plate?

You can’t answer can you?

Do some research on how your fried chicken and corn dogs got to be processed to end up on your trailer trash kitchen and then talk to me about animal cruelty.

Vick, as of today, is NOT proven guilty. These are as of now allegations. Until he shows up in a court of law and I hear evidence from both sides, why would I judge? Were you there moron? Read a book. Start with Dr Seuss. It’s on your level. Oh, and they have animals in them - right up your alley.

Pedestal? What pedestal? A blog pedestal?

BTW, correct grammar is : to put himself not themself.

Now, I appreciate your comment. You sound like you realize meat eating may not be the best thing but you do it and in all essence you are not intentionally harming those animals. I get the difference.

BTW, the hunters I criticize like that moron Ted Nugent do it for fun citing the right to bear arms to kill animals as an American right of his.

That is who I am criticizing.

I can’t fault the single mother of three who has to run to McDonald’s for a dollar meal of big mac to feed her kids. That is a need.

All I am saying again: if we can find fault in dogfighting, let’s look at our everyday habits and how they harm living things. Maybe we can use this incident to be kinder to animals in our everyday lives.

All I am saying, if Michael Vick is found to be legally connected to the death of 64 animals then a family of four has over the years been connected to 10 times that number. 3 meals a day times 7 for let’s say ten years. That’s a lot of animals.

I can excuse a poor family who HAS to do this out of need but I can’t excuse the middle class and well to do families who have the option but choose to have duck, goose, and veal everynight then scream foul when someone kills an animal in a dogfight.

Dickhead, you are insisting, so I’ll tell you:

My daddy is an attorney and I am on a macrobiotic diet. Not interested in meat other than fish. Do not own any leather goods.

Do you have any other quetions??

Michael Vick should be skinned, raped, and electrocuted like those dogs.

Oh, thanks Zoe.

Let’s show a human being torturing an animal is wrong by torturing that human being.

Makes complete sense.

Thanks Zo. You’re genius.

Ah, now your dad is conveniently an attorney. And you (along with Gwyinnie Paltrow) are on a macrobiotic diet. Is your daughter’s name Apple too?

Thank you for your post. It is eloquent, poetic and supports my entire point like no other: you advocate that Michael Vick be electrocuted and skinned like those dogs as a way to show humans that torturing animals is wrong.

SO let me get this straight: torturing a human being if it is to show that animal torture is wrong is ok.

But animal torture is wrong. Just torturing humans who torture animals is right.

Right?

Riiiiight.

Thanks buddy.

I hope because he has money that he does not just get a fine and probation - i hope this leads to many other arrests that were involved and also makes him do some lengthy jail time.

I am the owner of a pit bull, rescued when he was 2 yrs from a dog fighting gang in Indiana. He is almost 5 and doing much better, but if you could spend just one day with him you would see and understand how much trauma these dogs go through… Just the sound of a door latch startles him. He is very timid. When we walk him on the street some people look at him and are frightened because he is a pit bull, but what people do not understand is how scared HE is. He is an incredible dog, the sweetest dog and so wonderful with children (pit bulls are known to be extremely good with children). My family cannot imagine our lives without him, he is the best dog ever. I also HIGHLY recommend adopting a pit bull.
And remember, it IS possible to save these dogs and help them understand not all people want to hurt them.

Talk about anal. lolol What a joke!

What a piece of sub-human ****. May he rot in jail for a VERY long time. A “person” who acts this way is a menace to all living creatures- human and non.

ANYONE who fights dogd should be made fight to death, over and over and over and over and over and over again!

Get this piece of shite convicted!

Almost forgot:

to Lasa´s comment nbr. 28:

Does the stupid f**k really think that he is well known around the world?!?! Ahahahaahaaaaaaa…!! What a wanker! Noone knows who the hell he is here in Europe. Gawd he is not only a sadistic piece of shite but a total nitwit too! Huraa for contact sports!

after thinking about every point you’ve written i do understand your argument and i respect your points. i wrote the pedestal comment because it seemed at the time that were you trying to put your opinions above everyone else’s. i was wrong. thank you for the grammar check, while i was writing that i wasn’t sure what was the correct form so i left it as is.

overall, what i’m getting at is that i see your point and i respect what you’ve been saying. it’s just difficult to take people seriously here since most people at this blog jump to judge.

and again (this is for others to read) there is no logic in putting Vick into a cage with aggressive dogs in order to achieve justice. that is not how things work and it is not how he’ll (people) learn. he needs (and i hope) to undergo the same treatment as anyone else would in these situations and should be handled accordingly.
