Older54 Dogs Get Vick-timized
NFL star Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with running a dogfighting ring out of his mansion in Virginia. His arraignment before a federal judge will be in Richmond on July 26.
AOL News reports, “54 pit bulls were recovered from the property during searches in April, along with a “rape stand,” used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs; and a bloodied piece of carpeting, the documents said.”
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said: “We agree with them that dogfighting is cruel, degrading and illegal. The alleged activities are very disturbing and we are extremely disappointed Michael Vick has put himself in this position.”

Obviously he is disturbed. Too bad, a waste of talent. These atheletes are allowed to do whatever they want since childhood. Society has created these monsters by allowing them to get away with misbehavour for their entire lives. He deserves to lose everything if he is convicted of these charges. With a federal indictment they must have pretty incrimminating evidence. What a loser! They ought to chain him up and allow these dogs to attack his ass.

That’s absolutely disgusting. I actually tried to avoid reading the full article of what he did because I knew I would only wind up feeling nauseated. I hate any form of violence towards animals. This includes hunting animals for sport, bull-fighting, ****-fighting, etc.
I also try as much as I can to buy meat that comes from animals who’ve been reared free-range and/or organically and killed humanely, causing them as little pain and stress as possible. Unfortunately, I like my meat a little too much to become a vegan.

I treat my pet (Moses) with decency and respect. He is well fed and cared for. He has his own area (500 ft) with couch, bed, fan, heater, television, and radio. He is walked daily with a .75 acre to run in. He has two houses. I still believe Michael Vick is INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY. I believe in DUE PROCESS. I do not think the media should be the JUDGE, PROSECUTER AND THE JURY. I AGREE WITH YOU “IF” MICHAEL VICK IS GUILTY, HE SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR ANY AND ALL BARBARIC ACTS AGAINST ANIMALS.
for those of you that think everyone should wait until he’s proven guilty - that it’s all circumstantial. The man already admitted when this first came to light that yes he did breed pit bulls. And then the house he built is almost like a fortress from the outside, so people can’t see what’s going on, I guess that’s circumstantial. They find numerous dog fighting materials as well as corpses on the grounds. And Mr. Vick tells us “he hardly ever goes to the property”. Hmmm, that must mean he has been there (and I won’t bring up that the people in the community have seen him numerous times as that is circumstantial). So, when he was there as infrequently as he says, was all the dog fighting equipment, the blood, everything just hidden everytime he came in to town? The police seemed to find it pretty easily. Are we supposed to believe the man is just an innocent breeder of dogs and that’s it? And if he is, where are all the buyers of these dogs that he’s raising, why haven’t we seen any of them come out and say I bought a pit from him and the dog is the sweetest thing? We haven’t heard about that, as there aren’t any - his dogs aren’t bred for pets. And again, even more horrible to me than the fighting is what was done to these dogs if they couldn’t fight. Electrocution? That’s real humane. People are so disturbed by this case, as most of us couldn’t fathom what has been done to these helpless creatures. Normal people do not abuse animals like this. Only your Jeffrey Dahmers, your Ted Bundy’s. And yes, unfortunately there are numerous dog fighting rings - his wasn’t the only one. But, even the head of the humane society said this was one of the most disturbing cases he’s seen in that these dogs were just tortured if they weren’t able to fight, or lost a fight. That’s just wrong.

I dont know if vick is guilty- I believe he knew what was going on there even if he did not live there
1) someone said something about nancy grace- she is ALWAYS wrong, lawyers cant predict anything right on her show, and I watch it pretty regularly.
2) If the authorities were so confident that vick was involved, explain why he was charged WITH ONE COUNT OF CONSPIRACY TO TRANSPORTS DOGS FOR DOG-FIGHTING. This is the one thing I cannot wrap my head around. If They supposedly have All this evidence, just charge the man directly
3)If vick is guilty he needs to be punished to the full extend of the law, but I dont remember people being this outraged when Ray carruth killed his pregnant girlfriend or when Ray Lewis killed a man outside of a Atlanta nightclub.
I like animals and hate to hear bad things happen to them but everyone is a hypocrite- Nobody is emailing the white house to ask why VP cheney kills for sport or espn showing them hunt deer FOR SPORT. Please people, get off of your high horse.

Question for the masses who already have this young man convicted. How many of the instances was he present for? Which of the dogs was his physical hand responsible for their tortured death? Did he single-handedly run this operation?
Oh yeah, it was his house that he uses 2 months out of the year so he had to be there for all instances. With that theory then why the H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS is half of congress locked up for the drug sales in the US? We all know that the young boys serving time for the distribution are not the mastermind and did not provide a way to bring the drugs into this country. Afterall it is all about lynching the ones who make it possible right?
Everyone needs to calm the heck down. I am an animal lover but at no time do I loose sight of the fact that they are not entitled to the same emotions as humans. As humans we have dominion over all of the animals but right now everyone in here is foaming at the mouth like rabid dogs.Breathe and go use some of that energy to assist some HUMANS that are suffering atrocities.
Oh yeah, I am a GIANTS fan, if Vick is out we won’t have to worry about the Falcons in the NFC this year. Process of elimination works for me,

Why would his race even enter the conversation if there were not some deeper issues going on beyond animals. I guess its under the same token as to why a thread about Jamie Foxx is more likely to mention his supposed racism than one about Paris Hilton. Oh and let’s not forget the “hang him!” because he deserves it comments. Answer me this: how is that a dog owner can clean the poop and piss off their carpets for the fury members of the family but if a person were to drop a cheeto on the same floor they’d be totally disgusted? Why are some people here bringing up all kinds of other issues around the world? What is this article about?
Stick with the subject matter why don’t you? Why bring up Darfur and bullfighting, and slavery and every other prooblem in the world?
So to prove oneself as not being a hypocrite as someone here so blatantly assumes of everyone who feels strongly against animal cruelty, one must proclaim him/herself a vegatarian who owns no leather goods?

I was one of the people who brought up global issues on animal torture and humanity issues for several reasons:
Number one, I was baffled by posters who used the “N” word to attack this man. SO they are against animal cruelty but are not against using te “N” word to degrade blacks? When you use the “N” word, you are not just insulting Michael Vick but are also insulting all the black people that have nothing to do with dogfighting! What does race have to do with this?
So I was pointing out the hypocrisy in it all - how an animal rights person can see the wrong in torturing animals but can’t see the wrong in denigrating black people with racial slurs? Sensitivity for one thing but not for others? Are pitbulls more important than people? Shouldn’t they be equals?
ALso, I am fascinated by people who scream animal torture and I’ll say it again as I have been saying for years : they are engaged in supporting animal torture everyday. WHEN YOU EAT A CHICKEN, YOU ARE EATING AN ANIMAL THAT HAS GONE THROUGH THE MOST ATROCIOUS TORTURE BEFORE HE IS SOLD TO YOUR SUPERMARKET.

Bless you for bringing further attention to this vile story. It really is a thousand times worse than any far reaches of an evil mind. I’ve already signed the petition from the Humane Society (who’s aleady met with the NFL top brass), but I am so happy to have this address you supplied.
PEOPLE, please take the time and sign this. The NFL is requesting that Vick take a paid (!) leave, but he is resisting. We must make our feelings known immediately and clearly to the Atlanta Falcons and we must be loud about it. They don’t seem to want to suspend their player and I think that’s total CRAP!
He must pay, pay, pay for his sickening crime. I’m so furious about this, just like many of you are.
