Older54 Dogs Get Vick-timized
NFL star Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with running a dogfighting ring out of his mansion in Virginia. His arraignment before a federal judge will be in Richmond on July 26.
AOL News reports, “54 pit bulls were recovered from the property during searches in April, along with a “rape stand,” used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs; and a bloodied piece of carpeting, the documents said.”
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said: “We agree with them that dogfighting is cruel, degrading and illegal. The alleged activities are very disturbing and we are extremely disappointed Michael Vick has put himself in this position.”

I own a Pit Bull and I agree with most posts, esp. the one about why the breed is always condemned. Pits have a naturally aggresive streak inside of them, but you have to pull it out of them in order for them to attack or turn on you. If you train them and spend the time loving on them they are the most gentle, loyal and obedient dogs around.
As for Vicks involvement he by court definition is innocent until proven guilty. The facts/evidence however speak very loud. The only reason people like dog fights esp. with pit bulls is because it’s another form of an adrenline rush. So when people breed them to fight it’s a way to get their high and possibly even work out their own internal aggression in another form.
It’s degrading and low - and unfortunately happens all around America.
I hope Vick does get punished/ suspended. He’s disrespected his teammates and the NFL. He’s brought undue attention to himself and even brought one more negative spotlight onto the NFL.
What he doesn’t realize is that because of this more and more states may try to do what they do in Denver. In Denver they euthanize all pit bulls. Pit bull owners moved out of the city to protect their dogs. There are other places where they try to make it illegal and impossible for you to own this dog. And it’s all because people like Michael Vick think all pit bulls are good for is getting an adrenline rush in the off season.
This is the federal government going after vick, these are the same attorneys that go after scotter libby and other prosecute top mob bosses. The bottom line is, they would not of indicted him without rock hard evidence. This is not a dike lacrosse situation, that was some locat county prosecutor on a power trip. The federal government has a 90-95% conviction rate, that should speak louder then anyone who tries to relate this to anything other then the issue at hand. Why anyone would try to relate this to Darfur or child abuse is just using this as a medium to push their opinoins on others. Yes, Darfur and child abuse are horrible things, but just because those are horrible things, does that mean animal abuse is ok?
and to anyone that suggest violence on mr.vick is a hyporcrite, I love dogs, i have 3 myself. Do what you want, but use your voice an opportunity, write to the falcons, write to nike.com, write to home depot (Arthur Blank, the owner of the falcons started home depot)

All the arguments are good, but this one is the absolute best. Some people are more for helping other people, and some people are more for helping animals. Let them be. Just because some people love their animals more, it doesn’t make them evil. They have a purpose in this world.
We need all kinds of people for different problems. If all people only cared about people, who would be the voice for the animals? The animals have as much a right to be here as you and I.
Frankly, anybody who is not enraged about this probably does not like animals that much, so you wouldn’t understand. That’s my personal opinion.
We cannot save the world and stop every single bad thing that is going on. We can only try, each one of us doing our part.

if Vick is allowed back in the NFL after he serves his term I’m done with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
