John Mayer went to Georgia back in April with then-girlfriend Jessica Simpson to shoot this exclusive photo shoot and interview with GQ magazine.
On the hardest part of a long-distance relationship: That’s a relationship question. I have to watch out for myself. I’ve gotta play defensive ball. I’m on douche-bag land-mine aversion duty right now.
On not caring about his image anymore: I’m actually finished with that part of my image—with caring about that part of my image. I’m kind of at my quietest that I’ve ever been. And I’m at my happiest I’ve ever been. I do not take the outside world into my house with me. I just don’t care anymore. It’s vapor. When somebody wants to take a picture of you coming out of a restaurant, it doesn’t matter. Whether you save a falling baby’s life or whether you fall yourself on the ground drunk, it’s gone, lost in the sea of DUIs and crotch shots. And it just doesn’t matter.
On keeping his fans informed: What does matter is answering your fans, letting them know you exist still in the same way you always did, that the names change and the dollar values go up but you still exist in the same timeline of a person as you always did. That you still love playing music, you still know right from wrong, you can still smell bullshit like anyone else can.

I like him in those pics but he looked REAL good at the Live Earthr concert.
Whenever I read quotes from him I think he is either really high or he is ******** with the interviewer, which I think he did with the relationship question.
John Mayer is very talented and intelligent-The Simpson relationship was doomed from the start-he needs someone whose reading depth is beyond Fox in Socks! Mensa by foot! She’s still stuck on the Tuna v chicken conversation-Dating ppl of low intelligence is bad for your health-It ruins your sex drive-just ask Brad Pitt-Once he got rid of “someone write it down for me to say” he was able to use Mr. Happy the right way!
