OlderAngelina Jolie in ‘Beowulf’ — FIRST LOOK
Here is your first look at Angelina Jolie in Robert Zemeckis’s animated film Beowulf, which is set for a Nov. 17th release.
The LA Times describes the pictured scene: “Angelina Jolie’s lips look even fuller than usual. She’s emerging naked from a pool of dank cave water, rivulets of gold streaming gently down her body.
“Giiiif meee sonnnn,” she coos, in an Old English accent.
Her flaxen hair is braided down her back in a long tail that slowly undulates and slaps the dark pool around her. She continues to purr enticements about making babies as a virtual camera circles 360 degrees panning around her long limbs and waist. Gold dribbles down her inner thighs past her feet, revealing sharp stilettos merged with bestial hooves.
Beowulf is a hyper violent and highly sexualized tale of the warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) who must slay the monster Grendel (Crispin Glover). Later, Grendel’s mother (Jolie) seduces Beowulf so that she can produce a replacement heir that will allow her to reestablish her dominion over the kingdom. (Hence, Giiiif meee sonnn.)”

Denial is a serious thing. Everyone loves a success story, and i’m sure you can be one if you make a serious and committed effort to get up off the couch, move away from the computer and try doing something worth while with your time. All this hate is not normal or healthy. I’m sure if you open you door, go outside and get some fresh air, maybe go see a good move (I recommend A Mighty Heart), you will see that there is more to life than hating on the Jolie-Pitts. Regarding the character’s significance in the original poem: Grendel’s mother is kinda the middle portion. The deaths of Grendel & mother come early in protagonist’s life…I believe the big-deally-oh battle was toward the end of Beowulf’s life…he slays a dragon after a brawl which, if we were to find a modern comparison would be something like Neo fighting Smith @ the end of the Matrix trilogy. If we want to use the Matrix comparison for a minute longer, the killing of Grendel’s Mother is a turning point not unlike the moment Neo starts to see things “in code” at the end of that one movie: important, but not the end…
Jolie’s scenes should be SUPER cool, though, because Grandel’s mother:
1. Goes on a bloody rampage in the castle after the King celebrates killing her son
2. Drags Beowulf to the bottom of a lake to her magical “Cave-Lair” whe he beheads her with her own sword (that supposedly no man is able to lift)
So, yeah, even though she’s not the Dragon in the story, her part has epic possibilities and it should look pretty cool, CGI–wise…
