The Joker (Heath Ledger) prepares to cut up the face of D.A. Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) in the The Dark Knight, the latest installment of the Batman movie series directed by Christopher Nolan.
The Dark Knight is set for a July 18, 2008 release. Why must we wait so longggggg???

I like the cartoons Joker better than Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger.

Can’t wait for this movie too and Robert Downey in Iron Man. Im worried about Ledger. Never been a fan of Maggie the actress and person.
So now its a given either Rachel is damsel in distress part 2(yawwnnn) kidnap or killed by the Joker. What happened to Mysterious Nolan not giving away anything?
Sorry but Katie leaps and bounds than Maggie and she is beautiful to look at so Im against this Rachel switch. I had no idea one is considered talented by being a pornstar like Gyllenhaal. I will reserve my judgement on Heath Ledger as the Joker.
Heath will do a better job than Jack Nicholson.

I know many people will be delighted to see this American hater die on the bigscreen. Not much talent and she is ugly(ugly on the inside too). Looks like overinflated ego Maggie strikes again this time she is dissing Katie Holmes.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is AWESOME and a very sexy actress when she wants to be. She doesn’t go flaunting herself all the time, but she has a great body. Not understanding all the hate. Go rent Sherrybaby and learn about acting.
Katie Holmes was a huge mistake. Maggie will be so much better.

Katie is pathetic. And she decided to ditch this series(Tom said no sex scenes) and now she is doing that ridiculous “comedy” with Latifah about a bank heist. Good career move Katie. Why even bother pretending you give a **** about anything but masking Tom’s royal gayness!?
Huh! I’m aith you 100%..Even though Tom decided Katie couldn’t do it, she probably would not have got the role in DK anyway. I heard that she ran off with Cruise halfway through the promotion of BB and didn’t fulfill her obligations. She is very immature. The only roles that she will in the future are the ones that Tom buys for her.

Katie is so riveting and all around from Singing Detective,Pieces of April,The Gift,Wonder Boys,Go,Thank you for Smoking. Top of that Katie has class unlike Maggie. Good for Katie for not trash talking back the way Maggie does. Maggie is not a lady and Katie will rise above her insults.
I saw the Simpsons today so the TDK teaser was there. Ledger Joker sounds like Beetlejuice or Billy Bob Thorton. Meh.
Katie worked for me in Batman. Maggie is sooooo not Batman’s gal.

Anyone who actually reads Batman comics hated Jack Nicholson’s Joker… cause it was just Jack in a clown costumn and not the Joker at all. (where was his motivation for becomign the Joker? Sure he fell into chemicals, but why go mad in that particular way?). And you guys who dis Heath and Maggies seam to be purposefully choosing their worst films as examples of their acting skills. I admit Patriot, Knights Tale & Ten Things I Hate about You were weak, but watch Lords of Dogtown or Candy or even Two Hands and see what range Ledger is capable of. I think he’ll rule the role. Also to critism that the makeup looks likes the crow or itci the killer pr even beetlejuice… well those respective movies clearly borrowed heavily on the joker for inspiration for their respective looks, so its the other way round folks.
This movie is going to totally awesome! Jack Nicholson’s joker is, in a way, a “funnier” psycho version. He’s the kind that adds a bit of elegance to his evil. Heath Ledger’s Joker is going to be really different. In the comics, Joker is a gangster that dresses up as a clown. That is what’s going to happen. In The Dark Knight, the Joker is a gangster that to mafia makes boss, b/c they believe that he’ll be the perfect canadite to take care of Batman, b/c he’s so insane. This verison of Joker in this movie is going to be more like the original comics & not like Tim Burton’s Joker. Although, his Joker was excellent & Jack Nicholson played it wonderfully! Can’t wait for this new movie to come out & see Heath Ledger in ACTION! I also can’t wait to see who makes Harvey Dent into Two-Face.
