Nicole Kidman Celebrates White Ribbon Day
A solo Nicole Kidman (in Prada) celebrates White Ribbon Day by attending the White Tie Dinner Fundraiser at the Sheraton on the Park hotel in Sydney, Australia on Thursday.
The event was organized to support the White Ribbon Foundation. This charity seeks to eliminate violence against women by promoting cultural change through national media campaigns and male leadership programs aimed at men and boys.

i think nicole is a great mother and star. even though she talks to tom cruise we never seem a picture of them together after they divorced. we see pictures of meg ryan and dennis queid. keith wants a baby and i think before the end of the year she will get pregant
my brother thinks that she looks like a white mouse sometimes. i agree that she very skinny but it works on her because she’s tall. but here she looks great. people are making a big deal that she going to be working in berlin at the same time as tom. they divorced!!!!!!! but i think they are friends they just don’t want to tell the media, because thay have mention that they have laughed about some of the stories the magazines come up with.

Surely, Nicole Kidman is a good actress and I admire her ability to get into different roles. I also believe that she is quite smart as the rumours says she’s got a high IQ. However, when looking at her in pictures or observing her giving interviews I have always the impression she hides herself by not representing her real self but by playing again a role, a role of a celebrity under the watch of the public eyes. She pretends to be something for the public eyes; and in fact she wants to look good, beautiful and glamourous. Her smile is not real. A heartful smile is always all over the face, you would see the smile in the eyes too. But Nicole, she just smiles nicely with her mouth; and her whole body is in good control.
I would be very surprised if she tries to provoke or to question conventions. She is too much dependent on public acknowledgment. She might be tall, but her self-confidence needs to grow abit.
She is so beauty.

If Nicole has gained a tiny tad bit of weight, I think that is good. It makes her face and arms more fuller and this most likely the result of happy healthy people. She looks great!

Nicole is hardly fat, though she had obviously been lifting weights, and likely that day. Here shoulders and chest are clear indicators of that.
I used to like her as an actress and thought that when I heard her in interviews she seemed nice, etc. but the botox in her forehead and around her eyes has killed her acting since The Interpreter. I saw stills from the Invasion and it’s ridiculous—moments of extreme emotion and intensity and her face is smooth as glass and don’t tell me it’s because she wears sunscreen—that’s idiotic. All you have to do is look at all her work, and hundreds of photos to see that she used to have thin lips (which is not a slam but a fact, I think she should just deal with it) and lines, especially when smiling. The irony is they can only botox certain places so know she is getting wrinkles on her nose because that’s where that’s the only outlet for her expression. Keith do her a favor and tell her to stop or Nicole listen to Naomi, your friend, who would never botox because it inhibits expression!
and Coco I agree there is a bizarre totally controlled quality to her —trying so hard to be fashion and beauty icon, to look perfect.
She should take a cue from Julie Christie —and stunning woman in her sixties with LOTS of lines but no less beautiful and an amazing actress—last year’s Away From Her was wonderful.

I think she looks lovely here. I’m not always a fan of her look, but sher really looks beautiful and healthy here. Her natural hair is quite frizzy - how does she manage to get it looking so smooth and straight without looking fried? I also applaud whoever is giving her the lip injections. In her early movies (ie. Deal Calm) she has absolutely no upper lip and in these pictures it is full, yet quite natural looking - doesn’t look as “duck-like” as in the past. She should keep this look as it really works for her. Lovely.

How can you say she’s gorgeous, in several of those pictures she looks just plain scary. Someone needs to tell you to lay off the botox, too much of anything is just plain bad. I don’t hate Nicole Kidman, I am simply stating my opinion that she has had too many cosmetic procedures, thus causing her natural beauty to be distorted. This tells me that she is not as confident as all of you perceive her to be. This in fact is evidence in my opinion that she is not at all confident in her personal appearance. Also if there is nothing wrong with having these procedures, why deny that they are happening, why sneak around to get the cosmetic treatments.
As for Ms. Kidman’s acting career, I think Ms. Kidman needs to remember that to Hollywood she’s only as good as the gross profits off her last projects. What film has she stared in within the last five years that has grossed an acceptable amount of money?

I worked for a major studio for a number of years. Everyone I know of who had worked with Nicole had nothing but nice things to say about her.
Nicole has been in the entertainment biz for over 20 years. The fact that she can survive that long and continues to be so in demand just proves that she’s very talented and obviously knows how to develop and maintain friendships.
It is pretty sad that people have to be mean to someone who actually did get to meet Nicole last night.

She herself has donated her own Omega watches for auction. In Shanghai alone, her donated watch fetched $100,000 for Unifem.
And that’s not the only charity she’s involved in. She has been a long time Ambassador for the Australian chapter of UNICEF, a long time patron of the Sydney Children’s Hospital, and has been a contributor to cancer research at UCLA. Sabrina - you tell the elderly people that I have painted their homes over the last few years that my work on their homes was only worth $100. They appreciated that I go to my daytime job and show up everyday afterwards to prep and paint their home. It means the world to them. What does old Nic do after a day on the set? Whine that she didn’t receive more than one rose that day, that her bath water isn’t warm enough, that she is exhausted - the list can go on.

It is wonderful that you spend your spare time doing things for others. I admire all the wonderful people who give their time, and/or money to help support others in need, but I have trouble reading your post because you sound spiteful and I imagine those that help others to be full of a wonderful spirit and not the type to go around boasting about it!

I’m not spiteful at all, and I don’t boast about volunteering either. In fact, other than my immediate family, nobody knows I do this. I believe one of you actually said my volunteer work was worth $100 (do you consider that a nice comment), so once again, you choose to bash other people, and that’s all good and fine, but it isn’t fine for those of us to give our opinions of old Nic. Ah Joann, the only time Connor was working on the set was back in May. For 1 week. The photos are right her on JJ. I’d say you’re stetching the truth quite a bit. There hasn’t been a single sighting of the kids in Australia since May. In fact, there was a post by somebody who was at the airport the same day that Connor left Australia. In May.
The last known sighting of the kids was on June 16th in LA. They were at Keith’s concert at the Staples Center. Keith mentioned this himself on a radio interview a few weeks later. And a few days after this concert, there was a photo of Keith arriving at the airport in Sydney (right before Nicole’s birthday) the kids weren’t with him. I’d thought for sure they would have been there to celebrate their mother’s 40th birthday.
So if the kids have been back with Nicole since May or June, then that must mean they’ve stayed at home while she goes to the zoo, shopping, dinner, breakfast, sporting events, festivals, movies.
My guess, they’re at the Cruise compound in Telluride. Soccer season is starting up soon, I’m sure they’ll be plenty of photos then.
Okay, one word, WOW. Nicole Kidman looks absolutely gorgeous as usual. The hair, the dress, the shoes, make up, all perfect. For all of those who thinks she looks fat, she has a perfect body and you are all just jealous of her. For the botox and surgery, i honestly do not think she had any of it. You can all call me an idiot but it’s called MAKE UP, people!! (for all of those who didn’t know.) Make up is there to use to make your face look different. duh. And her lips, there is lip gloss that makes your lips look plumper. Also about her face, not everybody gets wrinkles at the same time, she may not get any till maybe 50. Even if she did use botox, it’s her own damn buisness and nobody elses. Everybody ages differently. Maybe some of you should rethink about what you are saying about her. I believe that was a post made by a friend. Her sister saw Connor at the airport. He did not leave Australia. He was merely traveling to another Australian city (not Sydney).

What a beautiful woman! It’s great to see an actress doing so well professionally at age 40. She has 3 movies coming out this year, and at least 1 next year. And she’s still well sought-after for endorsements. Way to go, Nic.
Nic seems to be a very nice person based on her ability to maintain long-standing friendships. And it’s great that she has this very close relationship with her family. From all the recent radio interviews given by her husband, it looks like they are very much in love.

Sydney, I do enjoy his music. I was a big fan, but I guess I know too much now and can’t put somebody like that up on a pedestal. I have found that it is better to idolize people in your life - be it family, friends or co-workers rather than celebrities in the fantasy world. They all have their dirty laundry just like everyboy else. Therefore, I can’t look up to any of them that way.
Melanie and katiee - I appreciate your comments, if you go back and re-read all the comments, you will see that LynchHer, Amanda and I made negative comments to Nic - we are free to do so - that is our opinion. Just because we enjoy his music doesn’t mean we have to become an instant fan of Nic’s. Seriously, I have never enjoyed one of her movies - wait I take that back - I did like “My Life” with Michael Keaton. Her role was really minimal for playing his wife (she was really emotion-less for her husband dying of cancer) in the movie. It was not her acting that made me enjoy the movie, but the talent from Keaton and the story line. You will see from my posts that I have never been negative against another poster until the cr@p was thrown at me first, and even then I was respectable compared to what I was being called.
