OlderSniff Shiloh, Smell Great
Angelina Jolie recently dropped her legal battle with a perfume-maker who plans to name a fragrance Shiloh (her daughter’s name).
According to The Washington Post, Angie filed a note with the U-S Patent and Trademark Office earlier this year.
The Israeli/French perfume-maker, Symine Salimpour, indicated she was inspired by the Hebrew meaning of Shiloh, “his gift,” and not Angie and Brad Pitt’s 13-month-old daughter.
Salimpour can now name the perfume as she pleases and has promised to donate five per cent of the profits to an Israeli organization that provides medical and educational services for disabled children.
Says Salimpour, “[The trademark battle] was just a huge misunderstanding. And besides having a baby named Shiloh — because this perfume, it is my baby — we can say we have two other things in common: We believe in human rights, and we love Brad Pitt!”

It is absolute arrogance to think a Jewish woman who chose the name Shiloh must have been thinking of your child. Either Jolie is uneducated and has no idea of the origins of the name Shiloh or she is just self centered and self absorbed beyond belief.
I’m not gonna waste anymore time with the fangirls. Your girl got busted with this the same way she got busted trying to censor the press. After all that bad publicity was probably the reason she decided to drop this case.

Where is someone denying she filed the injunction? The posts I’ve read so far don’t seem to be doing that? Most fans knew about this when it was first came out and was pimped by L&S…wasn’t this perfume maker an employee or is an employee of them?
Shiloh’s not my kid so I don’t mind anything her parents believe to be in the interest of protecting her. If that means trying to stop someone who potentially works for a tabloid from making money off her name so be it. They don’t know this chick from a can of paint so how could they know her intentions weren’t some how attached to the notoriety that is ‘Brangelina’. Ya’ll haters need to take a nap, for real LMAO

I love Angie, but she has no right to claim ownership over a name that has been around forever…if she knows for sure someone is trying to use her family to profit over an item, then fine, she can fight to protect them…but she should not have any right to patent anything…she didn’t invent the name…that is totally arrogant…any famous person can say anything today and claim they own the rights to it (Paris- That’s Hot)…it’s completely ridiculous…

I highly doubt this woman would have decided to donate part of her proceeds to helping disabled children if she wasn’t involved in a lawsuit with Angelina. I bet that was part of the agreement for Angie to drop the case.

No that’ no arrogance, that’s trying to protect their kids. Like I told you companies, people are always using their names (angelina, Brads…) to sell stuff. Worse than that, they even hire doubles that look like them to go to their shops or wering their stuff. So fogive Angelina for wanting to prevent another case…
As for the press… No Angelina did not “censor the press”. she did what other actors do often, that is to try to protect their privacy. As for this injuction, all kinds of nuts do things because they want to make money. It was proven this individual was trying to do that apparently BUT in the light of the tab frenzy and the retarded TEAM t-shirts I can see why they would be more than a bit suspicious that a perfume with the name they chose for their child all of a sudden was on it’s way to the marketplace. Of course the name doesn’t ‘belong’ to them…it just seems they wanted to ensure this lady was trying to pimp their daughter. Simple and plain.

Tabloid Reported That Couple Bought A Home In German City
A rep for Brad Pitt says tells The ShowBuzz that recent reports that he and his brood are relocating to Berlin are “not true.”
On July 28, London’s Mirror newspaper reported that the couple and their children — Maddox, 5, Pax. 3, Zahara, 2 and Shiloh, 1 — are planning to move to Berlin where they have bought a home.
Recent tabloid focus has been on Jolie’s weight after the “Mighty Heart” star appeared dangerously thin in paparazzi photos, according to CBS.
The newspaper says that the actor confided to a pal: “I want Angelina to settle down somewhere out of the limelight. She’s lost a lot of weight recently, and our plans are strictly to do with our move to Berlin.”
The Mirror says Pitt bought a house in Berlin and plans to design another one close to Potsdam.
“Berlin is so quiet and balanced, away from paparazzi,” Pitt reportedly told his friend.
Earlier this year, Jolie told reporters that she plans to take a year off from filmmaking to spend more time with Pitt and their children.

Why did Jared post this? I read this awhile ago and I am sorry but I know he knows this would only bring drama. Anyway I love Jared, I just wish you were more like Pittwatch.com, If there is a shortage of pics, Sherry just posts pictures of them from long ago or she only post postive stories like Brad and Angelina making the best dressed list and or when Angie was asked to join the foreign concil.

It’s a NAME. How and why would you trademark it for no reason unless you plan on using it to make money somehow in the future yourself? I read this story yesterday somewhere else and the perfumer had been working on her project TWO YEARS before Shiloh was born.

But Marcos Carrington says his coffee-based energy drink is named after his girlfriend, whose name is Jovita, not the 45-year-old rocker.
In a Jan. 22 letter, Los Angeles lawyer Peter Laird, representing Bon Jovi, objected to the word “Mijovi” as well as other words “itsmijovi” and “itsmilife” that appear in the company’s marketing materials and on the can. Rather than use Carrington’s spelling, the letter used the phrases, “It’s My Jovi” and It’s My Life.
“As you should be aware, one of Bon Jovi’s most popular songs is entitled It’s My Life, ” the letter states. “We hereby demand that you immediately cease and desist all further use of the name ‘Mijovi’ and It’s My Life. ”
Carrington said the words “itsmijovi” and “itsmilife” are meant to mean “it’s my jovial life.” The full phrase on the can is “itsmienergy.itsmijovi.itsmilife.”

Do you understand the issue of Jolie’s contention? She did not invent the name “shiloh”, this name existed before she was born.
To think that AJ drop the lawsuit because she agreed to donate money to charity, is just absurd and just so illogical. You people think that AJ has that type of power? Furthermore, AJ is the one at fault, so she cannot give ultimatums.
