OlderSniff Shiloh, Smell Great
Angelina Jolie recently dropped her legal battle with a perfume-maker who plans to name a fragrance Shiloh (her daughter’s name).
According to The Washington Post, Angie filed a note with the U-S Patent and Trademark Office earlier this year.
The Israeli/French perfume-maker, Symine Salimpour, indicated she was inspired by the Hebrew meaning of Shiloh, “his gift,” and not Angie and Brad Pitt’s 13-month-old daughter.
Salimpour can now name the perfume as she pleases and has promised to donate five per cent of the profits to an Israeli organization that provides medical and educational services for disabled children.
Says Salimpour, “[The trademark battle] was just a huge misunderstanding. And besides having a baby named Shiloh — because this perfume, it is my baby — we can say we have two other things in common: We believe in human rights, and we love Brad Pitt!”

That’s true of EVERY celebrity, bb. Insert a ‘name’ and you’ll find a pretty even fan/hater count for any famous person. And saying ‘lot’s’ of anything is a generalization, not an opinion.
That being said, if you don’t care for a certain celebrity why waste time posting on a thread dedicated to them? Just ignore it…logical right? And just because others can’t practice that same self control on the thread of an individual you like doesn’t mean you have to act like them.

What is it with some critics saying she doesn’t love her child? Seriously, unless you know them (which couldn’t be the case) why presume to act like you know that’s the case? Because of a transcribed blurb in a article? I’ve read it and she NEVER said anything remotely close.
As for this injuction, all kinds of nuts do things because they want to make money. It was proven this individual was trying to do that apparently BUT in the light of the tab frenzy and the retarded TEAM t-shirts I can see why they would be more than a bit suspicious that a perfume with the name they chose for their child all of a sudden was on it’s way to the marketplace. Of course the name doesn’t ‘belong’ to them…it just seems they wanted to ensure this lady was trying to pimp their daughter. Simple and plain.

If Symine could not prove in court that she was already in the process of making a perfume named Shiloh before Shiloh was born Angelina would not have dropped the battle. Angelina dropped it and it you go to US patent office website and look at the court papers you will she where Symine stated she can prove this. PLain and Simple.
Angelina is not bothered by it, so why are you??? If she is Angelina who doesn’t hold back and tells it like it is would say something about it, and she hasn’t yet.

It’s a NAME. How and why would you trademark it for no reason unless you plan on using it to make money somehow in the future yourself? I read this story yesterday somewhere else and the perfumer had been working on her project TWO YEARS before Shiloh was born.

If that’s true, then I stand corrected. But, if I recall correctly, Symine didn’t apply for a patent and the perfume wasn’t made known until after Shiloh was born. So, it would be natural for Angie & Brad to assume that Symine was trying to profit off their child since there was so much media hype surrounding her birth. And as Symine pointed out it was all a misunderstanding. From her statement that means to me she understood where Angie was coming from.

This is old news we read from earlier this week - it also is designed to generate yet more negativity - and I have to tell you I’m getting darned tired of it - not you, just in general.

Long Answer - These people KNOW AJ is prettier, wealthier and a much better person than they are and they do what any insecure person would do….try to bring her down by being dismissive of her good works, her good looks or try to find a sinister ulterior motive in whatever she does. She adopts a child…they call her insane coz in their own world; you have to be insane to want to love a child that isn’t yours. She helps the poor…they say she uses it for publicity. We could hear a pin drop in the previous thread when a BAS sighting was reported and the Radar house rumor was squashed. But now, haters are coming out of their bags when Angelina tried to make sure that opportunists weren’t taking advantage of her youngest child, just like she did when she obtained internet domains with several combinations of her daughter’s name.
Haters, don’t hitch yourself to the back of someone who is actually functioning in the world; it won’t win you credibility. Besides, this woman is a perfume-maker… the last thing she needs is your stench!!

I’m not bothered by any of it LMAO…I simply posted they went through the process in order to ensure this person wasn’t trying to make a dollar off their kid’s back. She obviously was able to prove that wasn’t the case in a court of law so AJ dropped her injunction. Simple and plain.
