Eddie Murphy: I am a Good Father
Deadbeat daddy Eddie Murphy defends himself to Entertainment Tonight via a statement on his behalf.
“Eddie Murphy always has and will continue to honor his responsibilities as a father. Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of ANY sort. He acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy. Mr. Murphy views this as a private matter and as such, will not be making any further comments about it.”
In a press conference earlier this week, Mel B’s attorney Gloria Allred alleged that Eddie has not paid a penny in financial support.

I was at a pary in 94 in New Jersey where Eddie, Sugar Ray Lenoard, Johnny Gill , Magic Johnson, Arsenio Hall all attended. At that party Eddie Gave Johnny Gill a new Red Benz and a prolonged kiss. It was explained to me by an insider that all of these guys are closeted. I am sure someone else heard of this a lot of people were around.
Eddie is a DL (Down Low brother)..They are all cowards..Has nothing to do with the them being accepted by society..They choose to live their life as they do..Its just sick that most of these sorry dudes arent honest enough with the women that they are sleeping with…Look at the stats..Black young women make up a high population of people affected with HIV..And Im not saying that its all from dealing with DL Brothers but there have been too many women that have been burned by these lying ass confused men..No real woman wants to deal with a man that wants to be with other men..so thats why they lie cuz they want their cake and…….

Eddie Murphy is gay. It’s been well known in Hollywood circles for a long time, just like John Travolta and Tom Cruise whom are also both gay. The one thing these men have in common, is their macho image which has made them all famous. To come out of the closet publicly, would mean disaster to their careers. So, they enter into contracts with females to keep their image intact & their sexuality a secret. This thing with Tracey Edmonds is a not for real ya’ll…it’s a public relations smoke screen, since Eddie has gotten so much press about his undacova lifestyle. Tracey’s not doing this for free nor is Scarey Spice, they are both benefitting from the media exposure among other things and Eddie gets to keep up his facade. Remember the old saying, there’s no such thing as bad press. Open your eyes people, Geez!

Actually the Acadamy VOTERS had everything to do with Eddie not getting the award, nothing more, nothing less. If you haven’t noticed most men (and women)seldom receive their academy when they actually should, they get it years later for a lesser known film, for example Denzel should have received his for his work in Philadelphia, Glory or Malcom X, instead he received it for Training Day!
Anybody remember this line from “Delirious”?…”Sure you’re not a homosexual, Mr. Murphy.”…was he “coming out” without coming out? LOL!!!…If he is gay I kind of feel bad for him because he is in the same predicament as Rock Hudson was with this “macho black man” thing he’s got going. It must be a hard thing to have to hide your true self that way. And he does have to hide it if he wants to continue to have the success he has had. Openly gay men in Hollywood only go so far even now, especially black men.
Many women in Hollywood are more than willing to be beards for someone who is more powerful/has more money than they do. It happens all of the time.
PS why does anybody think that Tracey and Eddie are sleeping together? It sounds much more like a business arrangement to me. She just switched from being Babyface’s beard to being Eddie’s!
Yes, Eddie is bi. Do I know someone he has been with? Yes. The thing about Eddie, Arsenio, Will, Dwayne, Johhny and everyone else in their little DL circle is they always choose “partners” who have as much to lose as they do. And yes, Eddie is part of this particular circle. Eddie’s big slip-up us was the Tranny, and you see what happened to him. Someone said Tracey is in this for the money. Trust, that’s not the issue here. She’s got plenty of her own, you figure out the rest ;)

Alan Arkin’s performance was equally amazing and powerful.
When two equally talented performers (performances) are nominated for the same award,the academy voters tend to vote for the older of the two nominees, as a means to recognize a body of work as well as an individual’s performance.
I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area and Eddie was caught in a VERY well-known area for trannies/prostitutes. As a matter of fact, he has filmed at least 3 or 4 movies in the Bay AREA BECAUSE of this very well-known area. Another 48 Hours, Golden Child (I think), Metro, and Beverly Hills Cop 3 (my cousin was an extra on Beverly Hills Cop 3 set!).
Jonny Gill and Eddie Murphy have both acted in manners that have cause people to wonder. These guys aren’t going to be able to keep living “on the DownLow” and still be able to keep it a secret. Especially in Eddie’s case as he has repeatedly lied to his female “partners”.

Uh, has anyone forgotten that Eddie Murphy is in a commited relationship with Johnny Gill? Come on now, these rumored relationships w/ women are just PR stunts to keep our minds off the fact that Eddie’s gay. Love u Eddie but do us all a favor & come on out to the light!
Sure, anyone in the “public eye” such as actors or actresses, politicians, singers, and sports celebrities are always under the magnifying glass for one reason or another, but bottom line, they’re people, just like the rest of us. My only problem with all this is people should realize who he/she really is before they get married and have children. All this just creates too many problems for their ex’s and their children. To me, no one chooses to be gay or straight. Who would CHOOSE to be riduculed and chastized their whole lives? My advice is to not make matters worse by making a family and then choosing to commit adultery and having a same-sex relationship on the “down-low!”
I could care less if Eddie is gay or straight but the man needs to stop lying and stop having kids already!!!!!!!!!!!

Tracy Edmonds is definitely dating Eddie for publicity. I just find it hard to believe that a smart and educated woamn like Tracey would date Eddie knowning this SOB first denied he has a child with Melanie and now after the DNA test proved he’s wrong he issues a public statement. The ONLY reason Eddie issued the statement is because Melaine took his ASS TO COURT. Melannie is the one that has been scorned HERE. And I cannot believe people are defending this SOB Eddie Murphy. Men that don’t want anything to do with their kids are the lowest of the low lives. It takes two to make a baby, so if you don’t want one use protection. It’s funny how you can be so rich, yet so ignorant. I feel so bad for the child. She’s going to grow up knowing that her daddy doesn’t want her. So sad. I have no respect for Eddie Murphy
finally Eddie admits paternity but what bugs me about that statement is him saying “THE child” not our child or my daughter, THE child likes she’s a piece of meat or property.
colormecrazy - I agree but you can’t force them to parent BUT, you can force them to support. She didn’t impregnate herself and he shouldn’t be allowed to walk away like nothing happened. Without DNA he would still be implying she’s a liar or a gold digger. She obviously isn’t going after all he’s got or demanding visitation…but he made a baby and needs to pitch in for support…and it has nothing to do with how much she makes. It takes two to make a baby and it should take two to support the baby. Courts may allow him to be lazy but she needs to persist in getting that support for the baby. Even with having to support 6 kids now, there is no guarantee he has learned to keep his pants on.

A good father doesn’t just make babies to leave with a woman to raise while he sends her money. A good father SHOWS RESPECT for his children by staying with their mother and spending quality time with them.
