It is ashame that a magz that always writes negative things about this couple have the exclusive on Mad’s party. They must have paid a pretty penny for the rights. They probably sent the papz to the area to snap the photos. They do not deserve the right to these personal photos.
Angie and Brad are such great parents. Brad and Maddox have a special bond; Mad is really the glue that sealed the relationship between Angie and Brad. But there had to be more between the two of them for it to stay together as it has. I just feel that these two are soulmates and should be together. It is strange how events happen to bring two people together. It seems that they both had to grow and mature and wham! It happened. We are so lucky to have a couple like this, they are very different and a breathe of fresh air. I have never felt this way about any celebs before! It is just something special about them!!!

Maddox Jolie-Pitt gets his first magazine cover this week courtesy of Life&Style Weekly. The Bauer publication, based in New Jersey, took pictures of Maddox’s sixth birthday party from a boat thanks to a telescopic lens and an intrusive international photo agency.

Even though Angelina Jolie has sold pictures of her kids in the past — to People, notably — and for lots of money, this time she was had at her own game. The pictures show Jolie and Brad Pitt cavorting with all their kids — Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh — mostly unaware that the festivities were being recorded for posterity.

The result is a front-cover full-page shot of Maddox, complete with the magazine’s round yellow price tag that reads in black: “1.99.”

It’s unclear who’s become more devalued: the magazines for conducting business formerly left to the National Enquirer and Star, or the parents for putting the dare into the air. Because that’s what it became the minute Jolie allowed her kids into the market.

“This is no different than Us’ [magazine] recent cover with Shiloh or anything with Suri Cruise,” one tabloid expert said.

Whether or not the Pitts can or would sue Bauer for invasion of privacy, the damage is certainly done. And it also shows that the rules have changed. Children used to be off limits. Then it became a game among paparazzi to get the first pictures of babies after they were born. Now all bets are off.

Because Jolie has let People and others have sanctioned, staged pictures of her kids, paparazzi now feel they have the right to snap away.

Michael Jackson almost looks a good parent at this point, making sure his kids’ faces are covered up all the time. I said almost.

Interestingly, the Maddox birthday pictures were originally being featured online Wednesday as a link to TV’s “Access Hollywood.”

“Everyone wanted them,” an insider told me. “All the shows did features.”

But I’m told the NBC syndicated celeb show backed off from actually airing them when they realized the legal brouhaha in the making. And by midday Wednesday, there was no mention of the shoot at either “Access” site or the ones belonging to either “Extra,” “ET’ or “The Insider.”

.UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The U.N. Security Council authorized on Tuesday up to 26,000 troops and police for Darfur and approved the use of force to protect civilians in Sudan’s arid western region.

Expected to cost more than $2 billion in the first year, the combined “hybrid” U.N.-African Union operation aims to quell violence in Darfur, where more than 2.1 million people have been driven into camps and an estimated 200,000 have died over the past four years.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who conducted months of talks with Khartoum, described the unanimously approved resolution as “historic and unprecedented” and said the mission would “make a clear and positive difference.”

The resolution, number 1769, invokes Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, under which the United Nations can authorize force. The measure allows the use of force for self-defense, to ensure the free movement of humanitarian workers and to protect civilians under attack, but acknowledges Sudan’s sovereignty.

The resolution, which has been watered down several times, no longer allows the new force to seize and dispose of illegal arms, saying it can only monitor such weapons.

Sudan’s U.N. ambassador, Abdalmahmood Abdalhaleem Mohamad, told reporters, “I am comfortable with the resolution.” He said the use of Chapter 7 was limited and that negotiators “went to great lengths to satisfy our concerns.”

The resolution authorizes up to 19,555 military personnel and 6,432 civilian police, which if deployed would be the world’s largest peacekeeping force.

U.S. SANCTIONS?

U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad called on Sudan’s president, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, to provide “maximum cooperation” in deploying the peacekeepers or face sanctions.

“If Sudan does not comply with this resolution, the United States will move for the swift adoption of unilateral and multilateral measures,” Khalilzad told the council.

“Now Sudan faces a choice,” he said. “Sudan can choose the path of cooperation or defiance.”

Visiting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown made a similar sanctions threat in a speech earlier in the day.

The revised text, however, dropped a threat to impose further sanctions if Khartoum balked.

China’s U.N. ambassador, Wang Guangya, who chaired the meeting, said the purpose of the resolution was to launch the hybrid force “rather than threaten sanctions.”

The measure was negotiated by Britain and France and also sponsored by Italy, Belgium, Congo Republic, Slovakia and Peru.

Asked why Washington did not join the sponsors, Khalilzad said, “The important thing is that we voted for it and we support it.” Diplomats speculated the United States did not approve of some modifications in the draft.

Rape, looting, murder and government bombardment drove millions from their homes in Darfur, where mostly non-Arab rebels took up arms in early 2003, accusing Khartoum of neglecting their desert region. The rebels have now split into a dozen groups, many fighting one another.

Infantry soldiers will be drawn mainly from African nations unless not enough Africans can be recruited. Personnel from elsewhere in the world are expected to be used for specialized engineering and in command headquarters.

The resolution calls on member states to finalize their contributions to the new force, called UNAMID, the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur, within 30 days. UNAMID would incorporate the under-equipped and under-financed 7,000 African Union troops now in Darfur.

Sudan, after months of hesitation, has agreed to the troop numbers, but U.N. officials expect it will take a year to get the entire force in place. Khartoum also has to agree to allow units from individual countries into Sudan.

The new headquarters should be running by October 31, and U.N. members were urged to cover costs as soon as possible for the AU troops. The combined force is to be in charge of all operations by December 31.

Jane Holl Lute, an assistant secretary-general for peacekeeping, said the department would work “non stop” between now and the end of the year, to get accommodations, fuel and communication as well as General Assembly financial approval.

“It is an unprecedented undertaking, in scale, complexity and importance,” she told reporters.

Progress at last in Darfur

WASHINGTON - After four years of brutal raids, ethnic cleansing and systematic rape in Darfur, Sudan - and nearly three years after the Bush administration declared this a genocide - the U.N. Security Council has finally approved a credible peacekeeping force. For 2 million displaced people in the camps, this is a wisp of hope on the horizon. For 200,000 of the dead, it comes too late.

The most disturbing part of the latest U.N. negotiations was the continued leverage exercised by the regime in Khartoum, which has a long history of mass killing. In the polished manners of the United Nations, blood on your hands is not a disqualification for a seat at the diplomatic table. With the expected help of China, and the disappointing support of France and Britain, the Sudanese envoy weakened the mandate of the peacekeeping force - no weapons are to be seized from the militias - and removed the threat of sanctions if Khartoum fails to cooperate. The regime protested that its “sovereignty” over the people of Darfur must be respected - which is really the sovereignty of lions over the herds they hunt.

But even this diluted resolution is useful. It authorizes what will be the largest peacekeeping operation in the world - upward of 25,000 soldiers and police under joint U.N. and African Union control. It sets specific dates for the transition to that force. And it mandates the protection of both aid workers and civilians.

Khartoum’s grudging acceptance of U.N. peacekeepers is the result of global pressure. For all its tactical confusions, Sarkozy’s France is tougher on the regime than was Chirac’s France. China can no longer be too obvious in its support of Khartoum, or it would risk the boycott of its Olympics next year. And a new round of American sanctions on Sudan has begun to bite, pressuring international banks to stop accepting Khartoum’s billions in oil money.

Is this momentum real? There are two benchmarks that will help answer this question, one way or the other.

In October, the United Nations must have its headquarters operational in Darfur, and take over financing African troops already on the ground.

By December at the latest, the U.N. will need to have in place what is called the “heavy support package” - hospitals, attack helicopters, 2,000 new African troops, and 3,000 police. It will also need to know which countries will contribute the rest of the troops to the peacekeeping force.

If the United Nations has met these realistic goals by New Year’s Eve, it will be a good beginning, a sign of seriousness. But the signals out of Khartoum are mixed. The United Nations has informed U.S. officials that it is already getting resistance from the regime on logistical issues. If the Sudanese continue to play these games, as they have done before, there will need to be penalties.

The United States has immediate responsibilities as well - to provide airlift support through NATO, training for command staff, communications and computer equipment, and generators. America is obligated to pay for 27 percent of the cost of the peacekeeping force, which will probably require a supplemental funding bill from Congress in 2008.

But the implementation of this resolution is, above all, a test for the United Nations. In dealing with Darfur, U.N. officials are determined to learn from their historical mistakes. The problem is choosing which mistake to learn from.

U.N. military planners want to avoid the debacle of Somalia which began in 1992, when peacekeepers entered a chaotic situation piecemeal and eventually left in defeat and failure. So in Darfur they want the U.N. intervention to be large and decisive - a “big bang” - even if that means the timeline is delayed.

Another U.N. failure is worth recalling and avoiding: Rwanda in 1994. While waiting for perfect circumstances to intervene, the world did little, and now lives haunted by a million ghosts.

No historical analogy is exact. But the Darfur genocide is closer to Rwanda than Somalia. It requires the urgent establishment of security first.

For all the Americans who have worked and prayed for Sudan over the years, for all the churches and synagogues with banners that call us to conscience, the time to push has arrived. There are many complex steps of negotiation and reconciliation between government and rebels down the road. But we should begin with one step: 5,000 new police and troops in Darfur by the end of this year

In their issue that hits newsstands on August 9, they showcase exclusive photos of the 6th birthday party of Maddox Pitt which took place over August 4-5 at dad Brad Pitt’s $4.5 million beachfront property just north of Santa Barbara, Ca. What’s so shocking about the photos? Aside from the “boys only” party featuring all of the kids wearing military fatigues and smeared camouflage make-up on their faces, there are photos of Angelina Jolie, 32, carrying Zahara, 2, with that same gear and make-up on her face. Why is the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Comissioner for Refugees “playng war” with her children? Jolie makes a big deal about visiting war-torn countries like Dafur, Sudan, Chad and Pakistan in her quest to learn more about the plight of refugees (many the children of war) and what can be done to help them not only survive but increase their quality of life. Her three adopted children come from countries that have seen their share of wars: Maddox is from Cambodia, Pax, 3, is from Vietnam, and Zahara from Ethiopia.

This hypocritical behavior is nothing new from Jolie, who set out rules for the media during her press blitz for her last movie A Mighty Heart, the story of slain investigative journalist Daniel Pearl. The idea of what Pearl died for was the journalistic freedom of speech, the right of the public to know what is really going on without censorship; yet there she was trying to squelch the press. God forbid someone ask something about her relationship with Brad that she hadn’t already told Ann Curry, Anderson Cooper, Reader’s Digest, TV Guide or Vanity Fair. So, when you pick up your issue of Life & Style this week, study the photos and ask yourself, does this seem like a children’s birthday party theme that is fitting to all that Jolie preaches?

War is bad, but it’s okay for MY kids to playact it. Sleeping with a married man is wrong, but in my case, he wasn’t REALLY married. Censorship is wrong, but not if I’m being written about. Shady adoptions are wrong, but I have to do it because my past is “misunderstood”.

I don’t see why everyone keeps praising this couple. Angie has made it obvious that she cannot stick with just one person. I truly believe that she went after him because she wanted a father for her kids. Everyone who praises them fails to mention that she’s nothing but a homewrecker and he’s a cheating SOB. I have lost ALL respect for these two… how do they expect to keep this wonderful sanctity of family when she’s been divorced twice already and Brad cheated on Jennifer?? Neither one of them know what it really means to be a family! If they had any clue in their heads, they both would have waited to see each other until his divorce was finalized.

I also just love how Angie is just SOOOOO defensive of the adopted kids that she treats Shiloh like an outcast. She’s rarely in public, and when she is, she always looks like she’s been crying. Even in the “privacy” of their own home, Shiloh is in only ONE of those pictures.. not good enough to be with the rest of the family. Angie toted Maddox and Zahara around when they were just babies, why doesn’t she do the same for Shiloh??

Around 7 p.m., a driver pulled one of Brangelina’s SUVs, with a bodyguard in shotgun, into the hotel’s private garage where security escorted Pitt into the vehicle and drove straight to a private jet at Midway airport.

The Boots Girls did not see Pitt walk onto the jet, but sources told us Pitt left town for the evening.

The first time I saw Angelina Jolie she was shimmering in the moonlight of the garden of Hollywood’s excluside Chateau Marmont hotel.

She was wearing jeans and a silky top, but radiated an unnerving sexiness. Her eyes locked into conversation with whoever intrigued her. It was as if they were the only person in the world, which was either charming or shy, depending on which way you looked at her.

Men stared in slack-jawed lust, a little afraid of her. Women stared at the ground or at each other in a mumbling, pouting sort of way.

This was long before there was Angelina and Brad. It was even before Billy Bob.

It seems that Angelina - striking, sexy, strong - is built in a way that women do not warm to. They see her as Alpha Vamp, too gothic to be a real mother.

Well, not any more - she’s having twins. There was never a love cauldron that raised more heat than the Brad/Jennifer/Angelina pot.

She doesn’t do it to give her life more meaning. She does it to save people’s lives.

Aid workers who worked with her tell how she’s not afraid to ride for two days on a motorbike in the mud without showering. She sees herself as just one extra pair of hands able to dig. She makes $12 million to $20 million (R72 million to R120 million) a movie and gives a third away to charity.

“I put my head together, cover my tattoos, get into my suits, look clean, don’t dress sexy and try to present the woman that I’m not sure I am, but would like to aspire to be a little more. Everyone is always expecting me to be, or it’s been easier, to be the other girl.”

That other girl was from the dark side. The one who admitted to experimenting with drugs, knives and other women. She spoke about them all with searing honesty in a hope to explain herself, alienated her further from the world.

“I was always sure that I would never know that feeling.”

That feeling came when she first picked up baby Maddox at the orphanage in Cambodia. He was the last baby she visited that day. She held him and held him and when he opened his eyes there was a connection that made her whole life change.

With those eyes locked she fitted in a way that she never thought she could. No more slashing herself with knives “just to be able to feel something”.

Now holding Maddox was as profound.

“I held him for the longest time. When he finally woke up and stared at me we stared at each other and I was crying and he smiled.

“My discomfort with children was because I always assumed

I could never make them happy because I was accused of being dark. I wasn’t sure if I could be a great, loving, perfect mom, but

I wanted to be, so bad. He smiled and we hung for a few hours and I could make him happy and we felt like a family.”

Feeling like a happy family was something she had never had and, subsequently, jealously guarded.

She didn’t suddenly fall out of love with Billy Bob Thornton, to whom she was married at the time. Suddenly Maddox was her prime and primal concern. She didn’t think Billy Bob would be a great father to Maddox. “He wasn’t ready.”

This may seem, to the uninitiated, ruthless, but it was also strong and protective. She had changed dramatically. Maddox consumed her world. She didn’t want to be that person who carried a pendant of Billy Bob’s dried blood around her neck. She was more interested in flesh and blood.

She was out of the darkness because of Maddox and was determined he would never know its shadow. Her relationship with her own father had been at times close - and at times destructive. He disapproved of her adopting Maddox. She made the decision to keep him out of her life also, to protect Maddox.

“If you have people who put knots in your stomach, it makes you feel bad about yourself. You cry and then you get them out of your life. Be strong and focus your love elsewhere.

“I had some beautiful times with my father and I don’t think he’s a bad person. I just think we’re not a good family - there’s far too much pain.

“I never wanted to come home and yell at Mad because I was stressed after a bad lunch with my father.

“I am a good mother and a good friend. I am a good adoptive mother because I don’t see blood as family. I see it as time and love. You earn it.”

Although this may seem unorthodox, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a logic that is both profound and true. One must take into consideration that her childhood was painful.

Children from troubled upbringings usually only revisit that trouble in their own families, or decide that that will be too painful an experience and therefore never want children of their own.

Angelina had been adamant that she only wanted to adopt children, both because of this past and because “giving birth to one meant I could give one less child a home”.

In fact, there was nothing of the ensnaring. She made it clear to him and to the world, if it cared to listen, that she is pretty independent and doesn’t need a man, and at least the kind of man she wanted would be hard to find.

“I just naturally don’t rely on men. That’s part of my problem with relationships. I have to be watchful not to allow myself to be too indepen

Angelina Jolie spent her first day of filming “Wanted” yesterday afternoon in Chi-Town’s Chinatown.

Jolie arrived to the set early in the morning and stayed till mid-afternoon filming a driving scene in a black Audi SUV.

Jolie retreated to her trailers midday for lunch where her children were waiting to see their mom. No word on where Brad Pitt was at this time.

Jolie returned back to her downtown hotel mid-afternoon, but not before saying goodbye to the crew. BTW: The crew loves Angie! They all insist she couldn’t be nicer. Jolie’s stunt-double continued to film the car scenes till early evening.

Around 7 p.m., a driver pulled one of Brangelina’s SUVs, with a bodyguard in shotgun, into the hotel’s private garage where security escorted Pitt into the vehicle and drove straight to a private jet at Midway airport.

The Boots Girls did not see Pitt walk onto the jet, but sources told us Pitt left town for the evening.

His destination is unknown for now.

Jolie is scheduled to continue filming all day today

Of course he cares about the press lol always has. This was planned. The whole purpose of going to chicago was to get pics, that’s why when he left last night he sneak out, so no one would notice.

AJ pictures on set look great. Love the jacket and I actullay like the pants. She looks really happy, good for her as far to many people in this world especially on this board seem to be happy. They seem like a fun family who really enjoy each others company. I wish Brad and Angie well.

I do think Brad’s bit at fault if people are having doubts about his actions because of the way he handled the last year of his relationship with Aniston. He did pander to the media as though things were alright in his marriage and that last trip and sudden announcement of split was tricky. It’s just you never know with him. I can see why some people would compare him showing up for a day in Chicago to the way he showed up in London and left so quickly (yes, I know he had to be there for O12 promotion but it was weird the way he left on his own instead of with Aniston).

Maddox Jolie-Pitt gets his first magazine cover this week courtesy of Life & Style Weekly. The Bauer publication, based in New Jersey, took pictures of Maddox’s sixth birthday party from a boat, thanks to a telescopic lens and an intrusive international photo agency.

Even though Angelina Jolie has sold pictures of her kids in the past — to People, notably — and for lots of money, this time she was had at her own game. The pictures show Jolie and Brad Pitt cavorting with their kids — Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh (Pax is not on the cover) — mostly unaware that the festivities were being recorded for posterity.

The result is a front-cover full-page shot of Maddox, complete with the magazine’s round yellow price tag that reads in black: “1.99.”

It’s unclear who’s become more devalued: the magazines for conducting business formerly left to the National Enquirer and Star, or the parents for putting the dare into the air. Because that’s what it became the minute Jolie allowed her kids into the market.

“This is no different than Us’ [magazine] recent cover with Shiloh or anything with Suri Cruise,” one tabloid expert said.

Whether or not the Pitts can or would sue Bauer for invasion of privacy, the damage is certainly done. And it also shows that the rules have changed. Children used to be off-limits. Then it became a game among paparazzi to get the first pictures of babies after they were born. Now all bets are off.

Because Jolie has let People and others have sanctioned, staged pictures of her kids, paparazzi now feel they have the right to snap away.

Michael Jackson almost looks like a good parent at this point, making sure his kids’ faces are covered up all the time. I said almost.

Interestingly, the Maddox birthday pictures were originally being featured online Wednesday as a link to TV’s “Access Hollywood.”

“Everyone wanted them,” an insider told me. “All the shows did features.”

But I’m told the NBC syndicated celeb show backed off from actually airing them when they realized the legal brouhaha in the making.

And by midday Wednesday, there was no mention of the shoot at the “Access” site or the ones belonging to “Extra,” “ET” and “The Insider.”

When Brad was passing Madd on the small bike he was riding, he saw Angie and Shiloh on the incline and drove directly up to them. Shiloh see’s daddy,Brad and Angie see each other exchange hello’s-hi honey’s.
Next we see papa and Shi,with Shi sitting on daddy’s knee as he holds her protectively. While Angie and Brad talk to each other, their girls, as they watch their oldest daughter play in front of them. I thought this was telling of how devoted and dedicated this family is to each other.

Now, Brad and Angelina are calling the paps? Let’s see, how many press outlets and pap agencies have all said that they’re the most followed couple on the planet. Yet, they have to call the paps. What is so funny to me is that Brad and Angelina can’t be apart for even a day because that means they’ve broken up. Oh, no! Say it ain’t so. Yet, Brad and his ex could be apart for months and yet, everything was just fine before Angelina entered the picture.

Here’s the thing, yeah, Brad and his ex played the press and it’s come back and bit everyone in the ass. I’m thinking he won’t go that route again. Unlike his ex, Brad does seem to not repeat the same mistakes again. See, he and his ex wife never put their relationship first. They never made sure that while one was working, the other wasn’t. When they were away on location for months at a time, the other wasn’t right there with them the whole time. Yet, with Angelina, that is exactly what they’re doing. He learned a valuable lesson. One he took to heart as did Angelina with her previous marriage to BBT.

And I love how Angelina is just a puppet. That’s the funniest damn one of all. Yep, Angelina would just let she and Brad yank those kids chains for the sake of PR. I don’t want to sound hypocrytical, since I fell in to the same trap when I first started posting here over two years ago.
I admired this family so much that I wanted to DEFEND any negative post about them.
I would respond to the trolls which would go on and on. It’s a viciuos cycle. Btw, they were much more intelligent in the early days, the quality of the trolls has really gone down-hill, I think because the intelligent ones moved on!!!
Anywhoo, we all did this at one point but as time went on, we all realized we were playing into their hands. I know, I know it is frustrating you want to lash out, but that’s exactly what they want. EXACTLY! There’s nothing to deny from a ‘relationship’ perspective because it’s not true and frankly, I think both he and Angie think it’s humorous LOL. Besides, it’s already been responded to via his rep and visiual evidence shows (anyone with common sense) they are together. I think it doesn’t bother them about the relationship stuff but the kids are a different story. It’s been speculated to bother them when the tabs differentiate between the kids like they do so this is not difficult for me to believe. I’m sure the fact they put Maddox on the cover of the mag didn’t make them happy either.

As for Lainey, anybody who regularly reads her site knows she consistently denies actual strife/separation with B&A.
