Angelina & Maddox are Not ‘Beyond Borders’
Angelina Jolie smiles at fans after picking up books and CDs at Borders Book and Music store bookstore with son Maddox, 6, on Sunday near her downtown Chicago hotel.
Motorcyclist-to-be Maddox (with a new mini-mohawk and losing all of his baby teeth) was seen with a dinosaur tattoos on his arm and wore a t-shirt by Indian Larry, a noted bike builder, stuntman, and innovator in the world of custom motorcycles.
Angie wore a thin fire engine red top, black pencil skirt and nude ballerina flats. She’s been busy filming her latest action thriller Wanted with James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman.

I have always admired Angelina as an actress and the woman she has become. The movie Girl Interrupted is a classic and Angie deserved to win the Oscar. Motherhood has changed her in so many good ways as a woman and as a human being. At 32 years old, she has done so much-a successful movie career and as a UNHCR ambassador. Her coming together with Brad Pitt has been a blessing for both of them. Their family is happy, healthy and thriving. As humanitarians, they are formidable and exemplary. As movie actors, their respective careers are in demand. So many good things for them such that the tabloids negating them are inconsequential in their blessed life. Why even bother giving credit to lies and fiction. As fans, we should do the same.

Talk about a night at the museum.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took a private tour of the Field Museum Saturday with their four children.
They all seemed to love the place — even the Mold-A-Rama machine, which makes those little hot-wax souvenirs.
They went to the Mold-A-Rama and made little dinosaur toys,” Field spokeswoman Nancy O’Shea said. “You’re never too sophisticated for the Mold-A-Rama.”
The family charmed the museum security officers who guided them during their 90-minute tour, O’Shea said.
They requested a look at the dinosaur exhibits, all of which seemed to delight their eldest, Maddox, 6.
“The little boy Maddox kept saying, ‘Is this real? Is this real?’ And of course, the things in there are real,” O’Shea said.
They visited Sue — which the Field trumpets as the largest, most complete T. rex ever found — and the Evolving Planet exhibit.
“They really soaked up” the displays, O’Shea said.
Also, “The security people said the kids were really well-behaved.” (Me….Awwwwwwwwww!)
As for their clothes, the family didn’t look out-of-the-ordinary.
“They were casually dressed, very casual,” O’Shea said. “[They] looked like just an ordinary family, except, of course, you and I know they’re not. Far more beautiful. Just very, very nice people.”
A family representative called the museum on Friday and requested the after-hours visit for Jolie, 32, and Pitt, 43, O’Shea said. Jolie has been in town filming the movie “Wanted.”
The museum normally closes on Saturday at 5 p.m. Jolie and Pitt and their children — Maddox; Pax, 3; Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 1 — arrived about 5:30 p.m. and stayed until about 7 p.m., O’Shea said.

Talk about a night at the museum.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took a private tour of the Field Museum Saturday with their four children.
They all seemed to love the place — even the Mold-A-Rama machine, which makes those little hot-wax souvenirs.
They went to the Mold-A-Rama and made little dinosaur toys,” Field spokeswoman Nancy O’Shea said. “You’re never too sophisticated for the Mold-A-Rama.”
The family charmed the museum security officers who guided them during their 90-minute tour, O’Shea said.
They requested a look at the dinosaur exhibits, all of which seemed to delight their eldest, Maddox, 6.
“The little boy Maddox kept saying, ‘Is this real? Is this real?’ And of course, the things in there are real,” O’Shea said.
They visited Sue — which the Field trumpets as the largest, most complete T. rex ever found — and the Evolving Planet exhibit.

That is a great write-up and I’m always tickled to find out that people who meet them for the first time are always blown away that they are just a normal family. There was a time when people would have been ashamed to pick up a copy of a tabloid magazine, not any more. Venerable newspapers like The New York Times even use them as a source. I am particularly pissed at the laziness exhibited by the media, nobody bothers to fact check stories any more.
I just read a story posted online by a staff writer for Chicago Tribune about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie taking their children to a museum on sunday evening. True, they did take their children to a museum, but the story was filed on saturday. Did the journalist file his story on saturday in anticipation that the Pitts would take their brood out on sunday or was it just incompetence on the reporter’s side?
What bugs me is that if they could get the most basic story wrong, what are the chances they are doing any research on the serious stories that are being published? Has the public been so dumbed down that we cannot tell the difference? If the media cannot be held accountable for knowingly disseminating false information and being unethical, should they still have the protection afforded them by the freedom of the press? The media has become so intellectually dishonest that they are more about making a name for themselves and enriching their bank accounts than they are about keeping the public informed.
There is no longer a distinguishing line between real news and gossip. When I tune in to watch Count down on MSNBC, I do not expect to see fiction tabloid writers proclaiming with a serious face that Brad and Angelina are breaking up for 1,000,000th time and that the eternal victim (Jennifer Aniston) is ”doing well.” You have NYT doing positive profiles of famewhores and celebrity wannabes like Harvey Levin and Perez Hilton, you have Washington Post publishing a write up from the dumbest tabloid-Life and Style. This begs the question, is there really any difference today between tabloids and the so called legit, or are we already on the slippery slope where everything is all about gossip and innuendo?
I, for one, no longer have any faith in the media. I neither believe what I read in the newspapers nor do I believe the news on TV. The legit media need to get their acts together, but if they want to become tabloids then they should do away with the pretenses that they care about serious journalism and the truth. It is time that the tabloids are held accountable for the lies they print instead of allowing them to hide behind the freedom of the press.

Funny how they claim to be fans of AJ but this women they describe I don’t recognize as AJ.. They describe some pathetic women who isn’t in charge of her own life. Makes absolutely no decisions about her career and is blinded by the person she is with. Which doesn’t describe the AJ I know. One that has had some hard knock in life with drugs, her father and her mother dying but has always pulled herself up and rised above it making her own choices all along the way. They don’t describe the women who has made her own decisions about what types of rumors she responds to or what she says in interviews. Who has never stayed with a man that she didn’t want to be with. Has never let a man dictate her life. When BB couldn’t get on board she walked. So, I really don’t know this person they are describing that is so easily maniuplated by everything around her because it sure as hell isn’t AJ.
Angie is obviously a very strong and smart woman who wouldn’t waste her time on worrying what tabloids write. After all, the real news in the world is concerning enough to her, as it is to her fans who know what she stands for in her work with the UN and in Washington. She’s by no means a simple movie star, and I think that those who insult her are immature and jealous of this REALITY.
Sometimes I wonder if the tide is shifting in her fan base, as time progresses and the public grows to understand this fabulous mixture of courage, persistance, empathy, and energy. I find it very motivating to see how the Jolie-Pitts do what many say is impossible in traveling the world & helping others. This family keeps me moving in my own life as I work with disadvantaged kids. Just knowing there’s people on your side, who want a better future, and really mean it.. that is what I try to instill in my own students here on the border.

I issued her/him a challenge the other day to name one actor who doesn’t want an Oscar and doesn’t campaign for it in one manner or another…and I’m still waiiting for a reply. The actors campaign for it, the same way the studios campaign for it. Only a complete twit thinks otherwise. Why be an actor if you don’t want an Oscar or a big paycheck? Do it for the love of acting? Yeah, right…sure…Hepburn, Streep, Tracy, Olivier, Brando, Fonda, De Niro, Davis, Pacino, Crowe, Penn - the greatest of the greats…all took the little bald fella home and never once turned down the Academy. What comes across clearly from this imposter is the fact that he or she doesn’t know Brad the man, the father, the philanthropist and the actor. There is probably no word like tabloidzation, but what other word do you use for the dumbing down of the media in particular and the public in general?
There was a time when people would have been ashamed to pick up a copy of a tabloid magazine, not any more. Venerable newspapers like The New York Times even use them as a source. I am particularly pissed at the laziness exhibited by the media, nobody bothers to fact check stories any more.
I just read a story posted online by a staff writer for Chicago Tribune about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie taking their children to a museum on sunday evening. True, they did take their children to a museum, but the story was filed on saturday. Did the journalist file his story on saturday in anticipation that the Pitts would take their brood out on sunday or was it just incompetence on the reporter’s side?
What bugs me is that if they could get the most basic story wrong, what are the chances they are doing any research on the serious stories that are being published? Has the public been so dumbed down that we cannot tell the difference? If the media cannot be held accountable for knowingly disseminating false information and being unethical, should they still have the protection afforded them by the freedom of the press? The media has become so intellectually dishonest that they are more about making a name for themselves and enriching their bank accounts than they are about keeping the public informed.
There is no longer a distinguishing line between real news and gossip. When I tune in to watch Count down on MSNBC, I do not expect to see fiction tabloid writers proclaiming with a serious face that Brad and Angelina are breaking up for 1,000,000th time and that the eternal victim (Jennifer Aniston) is ”doing well.” You have NYT doing positive profiles of famewhores and celebrity wannabes like Harvey Levin and Perez Hilton, you have Washington Post publishing a write up from the dumbest tabloid-Life and Style. This begs the question, is there really any difference today between tabloids and the so called legit, or are we already on the slippery slope where everything is all about gossip and innuendo?
I, for one, no longer have any faith in the media. I neither believe what I read in the newspapers nor do I believe the news on TV. The legit media need to get their acts together, but if they want to become tabloids then they should do away with the pretenses that they care about serious journalism and the truth. It is time that the tabloids are held accountable for the lies they print instead of allowing them to hide behind the freedom of the press.

I remeber the days when everything stopped for the news hour and Brinkley gave it to you straight without gimmicks and leaning on his opinion. Proof is in the puddin’…I believe what my eyes tell me. If Angelina and Brad spent large amounts of time apart or he stayed in LA while she was in Chicago I’d think there might be some truth to those ‘problem’ rumors. The fact of the matter is it quite the opposite. The more the two are seen together and with their family the less the stories concocted by the tabs make sense. Just because some may WANT their to be strife, doesn’t mean their is LOL
Any logical person would find it hard to believe a couple is going to or has (let In Touch tell it) split if they are constantly together in the same place. Not just being in the same place but actually taking time alone with each other. Per many a Chicago eyewitness account and pap photo, they have been doing just that and have been very ‘couple’ like. Anything the tabs/gossip hounds say in contrary is mute because NOTHING backs the claim up.
As for Us, of late they’ve been relatively calm with their coverage of the JP’s since the hatchett cover after Pax’s adoption. I’m willing to bet there will be a page or two about them being in Chicago in this week’s issue but don’t think they will run with a negative article because of a poll question, specifically with all this ‘defending’ they’ve been doing lately. Janice Min and company will have a snarky comment or two surely but save the real venom for when they don’t get the highest bid for family photos and are scooped by People LOL.
