Last year, it was the alleged celebrity baby boom; this year, it’s all about the child in peril. Lindsey is someone’s child, but she’s an old child. There’s nothing that the tabs, especially US Weekly, love more than making any sort of excuse to plaster a celebrity child/children’s pictures on their covers, preferably, pictures of children that they were never in the running to get in the first place.

First it was Suri and her mom ‘being held captive’; then it was Shiloh ‘being on the outs’ with her mother; now it’s Sean and Jaden ‘being tortured by their unstable mother’. If this trend continues, you can bet that Christina A. and Nicole Richie will be the next Mommy Dearests.

I don’t agree. Britney is a special case. Since 1999 she has dominated tabloids, blogs and the internet in general. Not even the J-P get as much coverage as Britney. When britney showed her cooch the internet exploted, just like when she shave her head.

Britney always is the focus. Most people are interested in her because unlike angelina or any other celebrity, britney went from sweet, naive girl from LA to the biggest and most powerful female in the music industry to biggest mess ever.

Regarding Britney always being the focus… I don’t know if that’s true or not. I was never interested in her, but I do remember when she went from jailbait on the brink to full-blown vixen, the public, especially pervy guys, took notice. I knew of JT :roll:, and there were rumors about Colin Farrell, but her personal life didn’t, IMO, get interesting until K-Fed. Now that, IMO, was trainwreck time.

Britney is a very foolish young woman, and there are moments that I do feel sorry for her, but not enough to excuse the upheaval she could be causing for her kids. And I hate to see any woman not learning from her bad mistakes and using that leason to power herself further into a better life direction.

But Britney being a lightening rod for tabloid and fan fascination, pre-Federline? That is a head scratcher.
