Mandy Moore takes a stab a covering “Umbrella,” originally performed by R&B songstress Rihanna.

Mandy explained why she chose to cover this song: “This was one of my favorite songs of the moment. I’m not a big Top 40s type of listener but you just can’t deny how melodic this song is.”

check out rihanna doing her own slow version. they both sing well but the ella ella ehh part is annoying when rihanna sings it. other than that good to go

Any particular reason for the remakes popping up of this song? GOOD GRIEF!!! Does anyone have an original thought? I didn’t like this version it made the d*mn song song like a Peter Paul and Mary folk song!

Hell yeah! At first I was like this isn’t going to sound too good. But this is MUCH better than Rihanna singing it. Mandy has a really nice voice that matured over the years. That annoying “bubble gum pop” sound she had, didn’t like it!

She should just cover other people songs instead of making her own music. that has proven to work for her. Wild Hope has yet to even match the sells of Coverage (which basically was just an album full of cover songs)

I just listened to her on youtube singing My Only Hope from that walk to remember movie. My god, she is absolutely unbelievable!!!!!
