I am not Joan and I travel 2 or 3 times a year thank you very much. To very nice places too! As for people with cancer, I have known people with cancer & know somebody with cancer right now. And guess what? They do need thier family around & like them around. And to think otherwise is selfish & assinine. So you can pretend it was all OK that Angelina was out trying to do whatever it was she was trying to do, but it wasn’t all OK and you cannot tell me that for one minute her mother would not have liked her to be with her more often. She was ALONE and dying, how was that all right?

To Me - Marcheline wasn’t alone. James (you know, her other child) was there with her and Angie was in LA as much as she could be. She paid for ALL of Marcheline’s medical treatment and put her up in the hotel L’Hermitage, which was close to the hospital for treatment before she went back in to the hospital.

As someone who has recently lost a parent to Cancer, I can tell you that someone who is in remission, such as Marcheline was, can have the Cancer come back very quickly and aggressively. Marcheline was not languishing in a hospital bed for months on end while Angie was globetrotting. She was living her life and the cancer came back very quickly at the end. I have little doubt that she wanted their family to go on living, working, etc. as much as possible. Not every parent wants their child stuck by their hospital bed 24/7 either.

You need to quit ranting about a situation you clearly don’t know much about.

Great post. I have always felt that Angie took care of her mother’s need just because she is a very caring and generous person. Unlike the X who rumor all around didn’t even raise a finger to help her ailing mother who also needed financial help. If she had an ounce of goodness in her heart, she would have dip in her millions to at least assist her mother in spite of bad blood. :roll:

Some of the comments made on this thread illustrate just how scary some people are. I feel sad for this wonderful family having to have body guards to protect their family. I wonder how tabloid writers can sleep at night when their livelihood depends on them writing garbage about celebrities, especially when it involves children. Some people criticize this couple for having nannies, gee, I’ve worked as a nanny for middle income people who were not famous, but just needed extra help with the kids. The kids liked me, but they definitely knew who their parents’ were, and preferred them over me or any other nanny. Brad and Angelina have to be more careful with their children than the average parent simply because of loony people who would do them harm. It is sad when a celebrity lets down their guard and is harmed by obsessed groupies, like John Lennon was.

Its wierd, y’know…….here i am laughing at some of the smackdowns (welcome back Cliniqua!), enjoying the posts of the fans and loving the pix of this sweet family and yet, within a matter of hours, all our lives here in Jamaica will be changed……some, perhaps, forever. I feel a little bit like how some of those passengers and crew must have felt on the Titanic so many decades ago.

The latest word from the weather channel, as some of you may be seeing, is that we will begin to feel the effects of the hurricane winds and rain from about 2 a.m. !!!!! that’s exactly what i was hoping WOULD NOT happen. I hate the idea of such a devastating blow happening in the middle of the night. Now i KNOW there will be tragedy. people being flooded out of their homes in the middle of the night and/or trees crashing down on people’s roofs while they sleep. But hopefully, no one will be sleeping…..perhaps just the children.

My daughter had begun to cry a little while ago but she seems to be better now…….we’ve been telling jokes and her grandpa — my 80 year-old dad who lives with us, have been telling her some stories about the old days that have made her laugh. And, of course, i am getting my laughs from here. My hubby, tho, is pre-occupied with finding things to do, even now, at 9:50p. He’s a physical planner by profession and a geographer and he knows exactly what we wil have to go through and he’s not going to try to pretend otherwise. Me……i got me a glass of merlot and am still online.

Just looked at the pixs on Courtney’s site. The bodyguard is keeping a close eye on Pax as Pax looks like he may be contemplating getting a much closer look at the water. LOL. Brad has his hands full with Zahara as well as keeping an eye on Pax, Angelina has her hands full with Shiloh, and Maddox is sitting well back in the boat near Holly. That’s life with four small kids, parents never have enough hands and any assistance has to be much appreciated. The two boys really dive into the Whole food bags and Pax has chips or cookies in his mouth in some of the pixs. Pax and Zahara (and Shiloh) seem to possess good appetites.

These pixs remind me of the boat trip in India, except there were only two kids along on that outing and now there are four. Wonderful family.

I know I’m late to the hurricane discussion, but I just want to send my wish for safety and goodluck - to all the Jolie-Pitt fans (CMAR, Preggy- Jolie, and others) and their family who live in the Carribean (especially in the island of Jamaica).

My mother-in-law lives in Port Antonio in Jamaica (long story why a NY Jewish woman decided to live there - she loves living in Port Antonio)- she just called to let us know that by tomorrow morning, all electical power will most likely be out for the entire Jamaican island (for safety purposes) - so, I hope that people are already storing food, water, medications, gas, batteries, and other basic necessities that will sustain them for days or weeks. The expectation is that, when the hurricane hits tomorrow, possibility is that there will be no telephone and no electric power, and all roads will be shut down, due to mud/landslides. My prayers to all of you and your family…..
