Brad Pitt Hits the Chicago Runway
From the high seas to the blue skies!
Dressed in a white polo, newsboy cap and sunglasses, a solo Brad Pitt catches a flight out of Chicago O’Hare airport on a rainy Sunday morning. He’s reportedly on his way to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Brad and partner Angelina Jolie recently told Total Film magazine that their kids call them dorks: “Our kids are going to find that funny when they’re older because they think we’re the dorkiest people on the planet.
“We’re very much parents together. Certainly we have moments of being sexy and fun and I do find Brad very, very sexy, obviously, but I believe we’re together for the right reasons.”

That doesn’t sound like a grand passionate love does it? It is good to be united as parents and the right reasons for being together are definitely not lust and undying love when you have children but this just seems so bland and oh I don’t know, dare I say boring?
Ahhh, but it is good that they live in the real world where your children always come first. They sound so d^^m normal it is almost a letdown, so many couples put the grand passionate love on the backburner and put the children and mutual goals first.

Was hoping that Angelina and the kids stayed in Chicago and not travel with Brad to NOLA with the unsettled weather along the gulf coast. Dean is a monster of a storm and who knows where it will make landfall. Brad looks great. He is all man these days. Angelina will be shooting more “Wanted” tonight I read somewhere. That may depend on the Chicago weather.

Really don’t worry about the small stuff like his clothes and if they are happy. Who really cares. PItt looks like he never has a shower and Jolie dresses like my granny. She is also so skinny her face looks like that of a 45 year old. But that is the small stuff. The most important stuff is how are they doing at the box office. AMH is really doing much worse than ever expected. I know that you loons are just waiting for the “worldwide” event. Can hardly wait of it to BOMB everywhere not just in the US. Don’t build your hopes up to much loons. It will be a really sad day for you. Added to this. Jesse is going to BOMB as well. It seems that no one wants to see it at all. OH NO! No one else seems to care these days. Her Larry King interview was embarassing in the ratings. The Dateline interview with them both on was also embarrasing with regards to how many watched. Also Shiloh is sweet but why doesn’t she ever smile or interact with anyone. The only thing I have ever seen her do is cry. Really sad. Suri is so happy and alert. Shiloh is not. Suri sure has become the favorite baby in the press lately. Who would have thought. Katie and Tom who were once despised now are becoming the press darlings. They are getting good at calling the press for family photo ops just like the Pitts.

But now in his 40’s, he’s just so lust-worthy and smokin’ hot! He’s handsome and gritty in a clean way; he’s intelligent and incredibly caring. His friends say he’s totally goofy and funny too. Saw Cliniqua’s post on the last thread with the letters from people who have Chicago Sun Times subscriptions, and I have to say I don’t blame them for their frustration. As much as I love this family, I would scoff if my local newspaper put them on the front page if they were in town filming. Now if it was an article about Angie’s UNHCR or CFR work, or Brad’s work on his project in New Orlean’s, it would be another story. That is real news - the fact that they are in town filming belongs in the entertainment/film section of the paper. Fortunately, we have so much filming going on in “Hollywood North” that we have a portion of our paper dedicated to this exact subject.

Angelina doesn’t like LA. She lived in England with her son, before Brad. Also her mom lived in France for awhile. LA isn’tthe place to raise kids.

I’m not trying to answer for hunnybunny, and I’m sure she will speak for herself, but I believe both Brad and Angie have mentioned in interviews that they don’t consider L.A. a suitable place to raise their family…never mind the extreme paparazzi presence when they are there. I’m sure that is all she meant.
I think New York suits them much better - out of the 30 mile zone of craziness and a lot of great culture to boot!

She was always getting venomous things said about her because they said she was larger than life a tough broad in a world and a buisness that was pushing the sweetheart image in the form of pretty matching pastel sets, bright eyed and unthreatning women and then there was bette who picked the strong women roles at a time when other actresses wanted to play sympathetic characters. She also had a very interesting personal life,was married four times,divorced three times and led her life the way she wanted to no matter what anyone else thought. Angelina is the bette davis of her generation and will be talked about years to come that is what makes a movie star. All the hollywood movie stars are remembered for other things in their life other than acting and that is what sets them apart.

Joan - you couldn’t be more wrong. Many of the fans here are quite well educated, have lives filled with love, and just enjoy seeing this beautiful family thriving. Many of us also admire Angie and Brad for what they have accomplished outside of the acting arena and for their continued commitment to helping those less fortunate.
While we would all be greatly saddened if this couple didn’t stay together, we know that they would remain loving parents of their 4 children, which is what matters most. Trust me, we would go on with our lives and still admire Angie and Brad individually for all that they are.
Just out of curiosity, what post-secondary school did you attend, and what degree have you obtained?

Well, JMHO Huvane is ready to throw in the towel after working soooo hard for 2 1/2 years to keep the X name around, but she is fading away sio fast it’s not even funny. Sooo, he deided to focus on his other client using the same tactic let’s ride on JP’s coat-tails. Ohhh don’t get me wrong I’m sure he is still sucking up mega bucks from the mega fool :lol: :lol:
Brad and Angelina will continue to spend all the time they need to in LA for their work. They have both been described by all who have worked with them as professionals to the max. The Changeling with Clint Eastwood will be filmed in LA and the family will reside in LA for the duration of that project. That said, both have expressed concerns with the LA lifestyle as not being the best place for families or anyone else. They have this in common with many other people, for eample MattD lives in Miami most of the time when he is not working, GeorgeC lives as much as possible in Italy, JuliaR is found much of the time outside LA, MichelleP lives near San Fran most of the time and so on.
Angelina lived in England because she had made a number of films there, her marriage with BBT had failed, and she felt that it was a good place to raise Maddox as a single mother, BUT once she decided to make her life with Brad, she SOLD her home in England, and moved in with him in Malibu. Since then she has been content to live where Brad lives, primarily in the LA area, first in Malibu, and then in the remodeled home/compound in Los Feliz. Angelina’s mother was not from France, never lived there, her mother was actually from the Chicago area. I think is it presuming a lot to say that she will not live in LA because she does not like it. What she does not like I imagine is the cutthroat aspect of life in LA and now the omnipresent hoards of paps with little or no control over their activities. Brad has never liked the paps, and has never welcomed their intrusion in his PRIVATE LIFE. Both Brad and Angelina do what media is needed for their projects BUT BOTH WANT PEACE IN THEIR PRIVATE LIVES AND IN THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN.
No doubt they will use next year to make some decisions as to where they will primarily reside.
The hate you AJ/BP lovers have in you is amazing.

The education you get within the walls of the academe is just one of the first steps of the learning process. It might give you an edge in the labor pool but it does not guarantee success. There are those that cannot cope well with the realities of the environment outside the academe - there are theories and truths that are not feasible and viable in a real working environment and you learn to adapt. And likely those who are still shackled by restrictions set by their backward thinking can’t. Explore the world outside. There is more to this world than the Pythagorean Theorem. One of the beauty of eduation is knowing how you apply it in the practical world. I know of a housemaid who out of the meager amount of her salary turned her soapmaking sideline into a very successful manufacturing concern.

There are a lot of the fans that are going through the hurricane trauma right now, we can use the time to pray for them. We can also hear from some of our fellow fans in N.O. who went through Katrina and help talk about the “green project” that Brad is working on since he left for N.O. already . Engaging people who bring negative energy is a waste of time. Peace!

It has been raining hard this morning in Chicago, in fact when the family went to church, which had a tri-lingual, outdoor Mass in celebration of a Hispanic Grand Fiesta, we got wet even though we had a huge tent to cover us and the rain did not abate till early afternoon. It was a dreary weekend in Chicago and kinda put a damper on the Air and Water Show. It’s like, what happened to summer?
You’re right, Huvane is probably so freakin’ tired of trying to push a non-working, self-pitying, chronic whining client, so now he’s trying to push another client, but with the same tactic, latch on to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Hi Coal - I’m in what some history books say as the geographical center of the Far East, the pearl of the orient, all the 7100+ islands (depending if its low or high tide), the Philippine Islands….sadly also famous for the presence of the ASG (Abu Sayaff) down south. There’s a current military offensive in Basilan (that’s in Southern Philippines).
But not to cast fear on those that are planning to visit our islands, that’s all isolated in certain areas down there…..its a peaceful country, relatively.

Back to the subject at hand, Brad looks cute in these pics. He obviously has some prep meetings/commitments to do prior to his tour of the 9th ward on Tuesday. With Angie due to wrap up filming tomorrow (barring any production issues) the family will be re-united soon. Angelina stated how they don’t work on film projects at the same time so the family is together as much as possible. They seem to stagger their work well enough where, at the most, they are only apart for a few days. That kind of commitment speaks volumes…both seem to have learned a valuable lessons from their previous relationships where they spent MONTHS away from their partners.

I invite everyone to take a look (re-look for some) at Brad in “Kalifornia” with Juliette Lewis. Brad plays a serial killer in this movie which is dated 1992. The movie is very, very good. And Brad is excellent in it…he is sexy …but most importantly the man has been a great actor for a long-time. He does an accent and everything…he really shines. I think that Brad is soo multi-faceted and talented!!! And this movie among others proves it…he also gets pluses for me for never playing it safe..i.e. “Fight Club” another one of my favorite BP movies.
Go buy the “Kalifornia” dvd…you will want to see it again and again!

We’re lucky here in Cebu. Weather has been pretty good. Just enough rainfall all throughout the year and no flooding in our little island (its protected by the bigger islands surrounding us so we’re so fortunate in that sense). Sadly, Luzon is not.
Thanks coalharbourqt, LOVE ANGELINA and everyone else who got my back regarding Angie on LA. I had to do some work for my actual job. You pretty much covered it — I don’t claim any great inside scoop, just watching her choices over the past 5 years. Even though both she and Brad have plenty of business interests in LA, and she moved into the Los Feliz house, she has not seemed to NEED to be there in the absence of a business reason, esp. now that her mom has passed. So since many of their(mostly Brad) upcoming work seems to be on the east coast, I didn’t see any obvious reason why LA would be the place over NYC. I just said, I (get it, I) wouldn’t bet on LA being the next stop. But it makes me no nevermind if it is. I would assume, just like I do when I see a pic of Brad getting on a plane, that AJBP have made the plans that are right for THEIR family.
Malaya - I thought as much but didn’t want to assume :-) Some of my friends here in Vancouver are Philippino and really wonderful people. Some of them are from fairly wealthy families and, as I understand it, cannot go back home to visit family without some form of security, for fear of being kidnapped and held for ransom. All that aside I would love to go there some day - it looks beautiful!

The high-powered PR man is leaking false stories to the tabloids about his clients and Mr. Superstar, and even going so far as to book them into the same cities, at the same hotel. Not that much of a coincidence in NYC or LA, but a rare oddity and unbelievable coincidence in the Midwest. One client has no complaints and is happy riding coattails, but the other sees it as a bit shameless - not that that doesn’t stop her from following orders and showing up with bells on. She needs the money.

- In Ocean thirteen you co-star with Al Pacino, your idol. How did you feel?
- Al is one of the greatest actors ever. He is very nice, open and remarkably intelligent. I have never seen anyone invest so much in a role. During lunch breaks, I’d hear him repeating his lines to be perfect at the moment. Besides, I believe he was the only one in the band to be systematically excellent at the first takes.
-Yourself, you do not work like that?
- No. I’d become mad if I went home at night in character. To each his thing. Fortunately, I’m able to concentrate on demand.
- How did things go with Soderbergh?
- At he end, we were all a bit sad, because we had been informed: there wont definitely be a Ocean fourteen. It it depended on me, I’d have piled up for four or five more episode with the gang. Soderbergh is really an amazing, complex guy. He always manages to get new performances from his actors. He is someone who stimulates creativity without violence, he is not simplistic, quite the opposite. And he always leans towards human interest stories and I love that.
- Do you regret having done any of your movies?
- More than one, yes. I have made bad choices, been disappointed at some directors, and then, at a certain moment, I thought I had shot too much movies. I suffered from a compulsion that made me shoot two or three films a year and therefore some which I should never have accepted. A madness! Some are dear to me, like those I’ve shot with David Fincher, “Se7en” and “Fight Club”, but also “Seven Years in Tibet” de Jean-Jacques Annaud, the “Ocean” movies, or “Mr and Mrs Smith”. Many others, I have accepted by fear of finding myself unemployed.
- You, unemployed?
- Yes. I had shot some flops, like “Johnny Suede” which nobody remembers now, “The Flavour”, “Cool World”, “The Mexican”, “Spy Game” and moreover I was going through a turbulent time in my private life. Happily, more exciting projects, from respected directors I admire came my way.
- Like Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu’s “Babel”?

We know Brad Pitt, the actor, less so the producer. How are things there?
Producing films is a financial bottomless pit. You stick your little finger in the process and you get eaten alive. But I’m proud of having produced Michael Winterbottom’s “A Mighty Heart”, adapted from the book written by the widow of Daniel Pearl, the journalist killed in Iraq, that was just presented in Cannes. - Have things always been clear for you as to your path and all that happened to you?
- Yes. I’m mature enough to take stock of my successes, the movies that worked well, those I’ve believed in but have failed and those I was always sure were going to fail. I did stupid stuff, the media didn’t spare me and cut me down to size. But sincerely when the media are on the look out for the smallest of your gestures, your slightest word, everything you do gets blown out of proportion. I thought I was stronger than the sensationalist press, that I should ignore them and live my life as I thought fit. But everywhere in the world things have become so hellish, so out of proportion, and even so unfair I had to let it go, or I’d have died trying.
Your tumultuous relationships with stars have not helped things…
- I admit my life has not been restful. But what I do not understand and cannot bear is when people entwine my private life with my work. All the events of my personal life, particularly with my ex (Jennifer Aniston), were overblown. From the moment the public is interested in you, everything you do is subject to multiple interpretations, of which three quarters are false and biased.
- The critics and the public shower you with praise, but, nevertheless, you have never received an Oscar or a Golden Globe, only two nominations. Does that disturb you?
- No, that does not prevent me from sleeping, but I’ll be happy when it comes. If it comes! My logic is the most beautiful reward comes above all from the public.

- Couldn’t you have blown a fuse or, worse, became depressed with the media frenzy that surrounds your life?
- I’ve often exploded, but in private. In public, I’ve the strength to show I can play the game. I’ve experienced the relentlessness of the media for a long time and a certain form of rejection from the professional milieu who had me catalogued and reduced to the “pretty face” shelf. But rather than getting me down, this has energized me and I have fought hard to build a carapace. When you are stalked by photographers 24h/24h, believe me, you cannot behave normally. And I am not saying this as an excuse for some attitude or other. Our contemporary culture builds idols in order to better destroy them. You are put on a pedestal and than the game is to bring down the statue.
- How have you managed?,
By standing back, by retreating from the public stage, by not stringing films together, by taking an interest in the politics of my country and in the environmental problems that should concern us all. That has helped me understand how some things are so relative. And after meeting Angie I became a new man, intimately and artistically speaking.
- Actually, in keeping with your friend George Clooney, you are also tremendously worried about the state of our planet…
- Of course you’re going to say it is a bit hypocritical to proclaim oneself an environmentalist and to travel by plane, even if for professional reasons. But on my daily life I drive a small electric car, very powerful for that matter. I am very interested in the G8 Summits and often organize, as we did in Cannes, fundraisers to help the most destitute or for Darfur. To hang around artists such as Bono, Bob Geldorf, to be able to discuss famine and AIDS in Africa, malaria and the world debt with the chief decision-makers has also strengthened my beliefs. The need to inform and the urgency of these problems remain vital. I’m going to get more and more involved in the years to come. I’d love to have done something good in my life!

Brad looks great. He is looking the way he wants to be. Deep down inside, Brad is a laid-back guy without all the high maintenence he had in his past relationship.
He has to be able to be on the go at a moment’s notice and wearing the clothes he does allows that.

IAWY. He looks better than ever. This is the real Brad Pitt, not the overly manicured and highlightened “Ken doll” version/facade that he presented to the world that matched his PR created persona. He threw that cra* out of his life when he met and fell in love with his totally supportive and loving woman who said “be who you are, not “who you aren’t”. The real Brad is now front and center, and some who totally bought the “Ken doll Brad” can’t get their little minds to accept that what they now see is who he was all the time. He now exhibits a strength and purpose that was well hidden during the “dark ages period” of his life.

I used to laugh when I saw pics of Brad with the ex when he was filming and had long hair and scruffy beard - you could see all over her face how annoyed she was that he had taken a role that required him to be scruffy… and all I could think was “What a shallow b*tch - he’s your husband for crying out loud! Where did Angelina ever say that she didn’t like LA? It’s her hometown and she did live in NYC for a time. Many people are born and raised in LA with no problems. You insulted everyone who was raised in Los Angeles.

Remember though when he was such a bad dresser, then became all about his looks, then mirroring his of the minute girlfriend’s look, which I think he still does, and just being self-absorbed when it came to architecture?
He’s changed a lot though, I think Gwyneth taught him how to dress, Jennifer taught him grooming (his skin and hair were at their best when he was with her) and perfecting his wardrobe, and Angelina taught him how to think about other things aside from himself. He learns from women, that’s a good characteristic in a man.

Have you read Brad’s interviews when he first started in Hollywood and was so young? HE STATED THAT HE WANTED ALOT OF KIDS. That was over ten years ago. This is not something that he just started saying. He’s been saying he wants alot of kids forever.
Also, your second part of your post, you might want to mention that to the Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw who have eight children and have been together for 16 years. Or for that matter, tell that to a whole lot of families who have more than two children. I wonder why some of those same couples with two or less children end up getting divorced anyway. Hmmm. :lol:

I read the study your post mentioned, and noted several caveats, some of which authors also acknowledge, but your post conveniently ignores.
First of all, the study establishes “correlation” (a happens with b), but not causality (a causes b). In other words, the authors leave open the question of whether or not having more children “causes” low marital satisfaction. There may be a myriad of alternative explanations, and to their credit, authors cite one, unhappy couples with children may be more likely to stay married. I will give another one, having children and thereby taking time off from workplace significantly reduces women’s likelihood of getting back to their “pre-children” earnings trajectory, which reduces women’s fallback options for seeking divorce. Second caveat is relates to your post, the number of children. They can separate the correlation between “having no child” vs. “having an infant” vs. “having a toddler”, but because of data constraints they can not establish the effect of having “one child” vs “having two or more children”. This second caveat refutes your argument of “having four children makes Mr. Pitt unhappy, and here is the proof.”
As for SES groups, the author refers to couples for whom time flexibility is less likely in high earning occupations. To some extent, as many couples with children know, it is possible to substitute “time for care” with “purchasing power” now and then, take-out meals, cleaning help, etc. But in most cases, care work for especially young children has no market based substitute in the US, which prevents high SES couples allocate their time efficiently. This explains the lack satisfaction in such couples, compared to middle-SES couples, they may not be “financially crunched”, but most likely they are “time squeezed”.
I am glad that you mentioned an academic study here in the discussion board, but it always pays to criticaly read the article itself, rather than a blind copy and paste job.
