Aishwarya Rai Films ‘Pink Panther 2′
Dressed in a trench coat and metallic Christian Louboutin peep-toes, Aishwarya Rai films scenes for Pink Panther 2 in Paris on Monday.
Rai plays one of the detectives alongside Alfred Molina. The pair joins forces with French police detective Jacques Clouseau, played by Steve Martin, to catch the thief who has been stealing artifacts around the world.
During film breaks, Aishwarya, 33, hung around the set with hubby-of-four-months Abhishek Bachchan.
Slowly by surely, Rai is making her way through Hollywood. She has an even bigger role in her next film Singularity, a war drama co-starring Brendan Fraser.

Hello Juno. To an Asian like me, Aishwarya Rai’s are not blue, but natural green, which is a (surprisingly for Europeans) common eye colour for Asians of “northern” descent. You see a lot of green/hazel eyes in “South-/Central-” Asian people, particularly those of Afghan, Punjabi, Pashtun, Kailash, etc, basically — any South Asian “race” that has a history which is closely intermixed with Persian history. The Mughal Empire, which was based on Persian culture and people, left a lasting impression on India and Pakistan, in more ways than one. And the indigenous people in many parts of Northern India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan were in any case already very fair-skinned and with light eye colours. Just google “Afghan Girl” + “National Geographic” to see an example of this kind of colouring without any contact lenses. Sorry to write so much! All the best to all - Auntie

It is true Even though Ashyrawi is beautiful. Angelina has something you just can not get a whole of. Her beauty makes you just sit and stare and wonder “What is it?” Is it the eyes the mouth what! Her attitude also plays a role. She is so bad ass yet so sweet humble and shy. Brad was afraid to hit her on mr and mrs smith but Doug Liman and the crew said to brad that she’ll hit you first so hit her! She is so bad ass!And so calm.

Which also created a horrific class system. THe most amount of skin bleaching is in India.. light skin and light eyes are praised. I lived in India, trust me that mentality is not cute..
Watch the STARS of ALL the Bollywood mmovies: THEY ARE ALL LIGHT SKIN. You may be lucky to see a dark female in the dance sequences.. But the star is ALWAYS Light or almost white looking.. SAD!!

Aishwarya has no British blood in her. She is 100% South Indian. There are plenty of Indians with blue/green eyes. It is not uncommon. My father and I both have blue/green eyes and we have no British blood. It came from the Aryans from Persia or Alexander The Great’s army, that’s why you can see some Pakistani’s with blonde hair and blue eyes.
@Stella: Actually Miss World is the older and more prestigious competition with more countries competing in it. Miss Universe is just more popular, especially here in North and South America. BTW, India’s Sushmita Sen (sp?) won Miss Universe that same year that Aishwarya won Miss World.

I want to add that… her eye are “stunning” but the rest of her face is just pretty. I don’t think she is the most beautiful woman, I have seen other Indian actress and they look just as or more prettier then Rai. Also the Late Gene Tierney or Jaclyn Smith are much more prettier then Rai.Plus Rai has a hook nose and her neck is has rolls like Kimora Simmons.
It’s not only Indian and Pakistani people who can have bright eyes and fair complexions. Afghanistan is known for the green eyes, red hair and fair skin that many have. I myself am from Afghanistan and my skin is the colour of snow in the winter and a pale beige in summer and I have greyish green eyes. And I agree, british colonialism has little if anything to do with the group of ‘pale’ asians. It goes back further than that. To the time of Alexander the great.

She’s beautiful, and nice to look at but as an actress, not only does she lack any abilities in indian movies but so does she in any hollywood movies she has done so far. That’s evident from any reviews you would see of her in movies like ‘Provoked’ and/or ‘The last region’ …but yeah I’ve seen her climb up the ladder to stardom and fame by being called ‘The most beautiful woman in the world’ …so if this worked I wouldn’t be THAT surprised. On a more positive note, As an Indian myself I’m proud of seeing her on another level of success. Especially for Indian females, which alot of we dont see. Incidentally I have to agree with “Auntie” India is a wonderfully diverse Continent/Country. A unique tapestry of hues, very animated. For us Indians, Aishwarya Rai looks are not especially unique however beautiful, her facial characteristics are distinctively Indian (you have to be Indian to recognize that)
But in the West she is considered very different/exotic because most Indian women are not fair complected with green/blue eyes but still very beautiful.
(My Mom’s brother has blue/gray eyes).
As far as Pink Panther is concern. I think Ash is a pro now on the filming scene and will do well with Pink Panther. However, she’s arguably not the best actress out there but has integrity as an entertainer and that is appealing. not to mention she has a excellent Hollywood agent and her husband is a Bachchan!

The girl has green eyes, and it’s pretty common in India, more for people in the north, but technically Aishwarya Rai is from the south. Go figure.
For those of you insulting her nose, get off of your high horse and stop being jealous. If it’s not her nose, then all of you will say something about her smile, or her ears, or her cheeks. The girl is gorgeous, and that’s that. Let it be and stop dissecting every single detail and being so negative. Enjoy the fact that we can admire a person’s stunning looks.
Her reasons, at least as I have read, for not doing as many “American” films is because of scheduling conflicts. In regards to the Bond film, she was in talks but it was at the time when it was thought that Pierce Brosnan was still going to do another film, and not Daniel Craig. At the time she was stating that she would not kiss a man on film, HOWEVER, that has changed. In the movie Dhoom 2, she kissed one of her co-stars, Hrithik Roshan. The funny thing is that her now-husband is in the film, yet she did not kiss him.
The reason why the US has not seen much of her is not because she’s media shy. She just hasn’t done as many US/American films. What I find surprising is that the entire world knows about Bollywood and are avid fans, yet the US as a whole knows nothing about Bollywood. The reason why some Americans supposedly do not like Bollywood is because they are all musicals, yet films like Chicago and High School Musical are big successes. A little hypocritical, don’t you think?

I am from India and if you look at Aishwarya’s career abroad she does deserve it-but let’s face it again- she got into Hollywood only because she has a pretty face-not because of anything else. Hence, she’s got something Hollywood desperately needs-a beautiful,elegant and pretty sexy looking woman. Let me elaborate.
She has done about 40 Bollywood films in the past decade or so and most of her films were mediocre.
The best ones were- Raincoat,Jeans,Guru,Taal,Chokher Bali(!!) and Dhoom2. She was also okay in Devdas(though that was more of glamour than real acting).
It depends on her DIRECTOR. If she has a good director-BANG But if her director turns out to be an idiot who really cannot see Aishwarya then I would certainly say she would do a lousy job(like in Bride And Prejudice-TOTAL FLOP). Though Gurinder Chadha did a brilliant job in Bend It like Bekham, she was not able to understand Aishwarya’s acting skills really well.
I saw The Last Legion. It was considerable good. I mean most said that as her body was sculpted she deserved the role at that particular time.
Pink Panther 2 will definetly be a good film(or let us say it will). Her skin looks incandescent and her eyes represent the sea. She has the hair as well as the beauty. She does have some brains….but I feel it is more of a show than something she really feels-I feel she is a bit plastic in real life.
She does look attractive here. This is the best I’ve ever seen her dressed. Hollywood makeup artists and costume people suit her. I still don’t think she’s stunning. Kind of plain and boring. It’s her cheeckbones that make her attractive. I don’t think her features are that great. People drool because her eyes are light. Big deal. If you could see the exquisite women in India. They’re amazing. But, I guess you got to start somewhere. I feel like I’m in the 1940’s, where the most whitified person of a race is given a chance and is considered extremely beautiful. Sad, really. Also on the part of Indians who catapulted her to stardom, such low self esteem. I’m Indian American, so please don’t tell me what I’m talking about. If you’re going to tell me that a light skinned person with light eyes in India is not considered gorgeous, over a truly exotic classic dark skin woman, you’re lying. But, I do give props when they are due. She looks great here and the Last Legion. Still don’t like her eyes though, too bulgey for my tastes. But, good luck to her! She doesn’t seem to need it. :-)
Please see Rekha, she was the big star in India before Rai. Actually I think they picked Rai because there were some similarites in the nostrils and cheekbones. Earlier movies they made her look like Rekha. But, man she was and is still stunning and classic. But, I guess she is too exotic for the masses. Dunno? Makes Rai look like a plain Jane. Also she’s very humble, the truly beautiful ones always seem to be unlike Rai.

I saw her on Letterman. She was so haughty and fake. The way she laughed was so annoying. I don’t know why Indians go crazy for her. She doesn’t even look Indian. She looks middle eastern. Okay, i really dont appreciate the comments about skin color issues. i’m indian and speak from personal experience, north indians are normally fair skinned, therefore, they are usually the ones in Hindi movies. and south indians are usually more darker skinned and have darker eyes, and i am south indian. if u watch any south indian movies, you will find a lot of actresses and actors with darker skin. i know there are some issues with being light skinned, but its not as bad as some ppl are making it out to be.
and someone said something about abishek being overprotective so he is hanging around her at the set, no he’s not, they’ve only been married a few months, give the guy a break. he only wants to spend some time with his wife, the two of them are ALWAYS filming for one more or other

West is completely in wrong perception of Aishwarya. She is at best a mediocre actress in India. Not one film where she delivered exceptional performance. Not one. It is hard to believe. She is stunning, beautfiul. Thats where it ends. She could not in any which way match to the talent of Mainstream hindi cinema. She was forced to look for other options. That is the reason for the plethora of her movies in South India film industry. For heaven sake, she is not the representative of Indian actors or actresses.

Wow, I always thought I was the only one who thought her nose was so ugly! I love the rest of her face, but her nose is just fug. Lol, always thought it was just me.
It was okay. I won’t be too hard on it because there just isn’t enough comedies around so I’m at least thankful they tried.
