OlderJennifer Aniston: Marley & Me
Jennifer Aniston has fetched herself a new role in Marley & Me, an adaptation of John Grogan’s bestselling memoir about an incorrigible Labrador retriever.
David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) will direct, Owen Wilson will co-star and production will commence in 2008.
According to Variety, “Marley is the yellow lab adopted by Grogan, a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and his wife. Their idea was to give them a taste of parenthood, but the dog proved to be a hyperactive handful. He wreaks havoc, gets kicked out of obedience school and gets even worse when the children begin to arrive, yet becomes an indispensable part of the family.”
Aniston, 38, also scored herself a small role in He’s Just Not That Into You, an ensemble comedy based on the best-selling book that is a social commentary about modern-day relationships and how men and women often misconstrue the intentions of the opposite sex.
Ken Kwapis (License to Wed) will direct, production will star early September in L.A. and Drew Barrymore is producing via her Flower Films production company.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Aniston will play a woman in a long-term relationship with a boyfriend who will not commit to marriage.”
The film also stars Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and Barrymore.

I hope that with her making movies that her fans will move on as she has done with her life. It is obvious to all those who will open their eyes that she and Brad were not compatible, they are really two very different people with very different outlooks on life. Premarriage, Brad was always a person who enjoyed exploring the world, meeting new people, there were stories of how he would just take off on trips and his family and friends had no idea where he was in the world. He also left bikes stashed all over the world and his attitude was well if they are there when I come back good if not I’ll get another one. Jen was a homebody who did not like to fly or lots of travel, liked her creature comforts, liked her circle of friends, was not comfortable in strange environments, content to go months(5+ months during the making of Troy for example)without seeing Brad.
They were not happy together, they tried to make their marriage work, their efforts failed, so they divorced. Truth is that there was some key element lacking in that marriage and in their relationship, they seemed more friends than lovers, and probably should have never married in the first place. You can’t marry someone thinking that you can change them into someone else. That never works. Jen’s dad remarked that Brad was in no hurry to marry and maybe he saw that the marriage was not to last.
I am not one who thinks that she should had had a baby if she did not want one. Women do have choices and she made her choice. But Brad definitely wanted children, repeatedly told everyone in the world that he did, with his 39th-40th birthdays may have felt the time is now, and that had to be a major flash point of conflict in that marriage. Jen knew this about Brad, but made the choice that she did as far as no children, either biological or adopted.
They both appear far happier to me with the choices they have made postmarriage. Both are now out from under the pressure exerted on them by the media to be “a perfect problem free golden couple”, when in fact both were in counseling from the beginning of their marriage. Not a good sign for success.
I wish her well in her career, though I do not like her as an actress as she plays the same character over and over in the few movies I have seen on tv.
I also hope that now that she has new movies to film that some of you will really be fans of hers and support her, not only because she was once married to Brad with that being her only claim to fame in your minds. That is not complementary to her at all, either you are her fan or you are not. She should never be attached to Brad or Angelina in any way, they have separate lives, and any attachment to them is a slap in her face. She needs her fans to support her new projects and her life choices.
Now for the totally delusional ones who prattle that Brad is coming back to her, you all know in your hearts and brains that will never happen. Brad is permanently gone, he won’t be returning. And real fans of hers know that.
I don’t think that she is ugly…She is beautiful!
But i do think that the movie she is set to paly in with Clive Owen sounds dumb…Definitely something not to spend money on..And so with the other movie…what the hell…i hope she does not decide to do them …2 future bombs…
Someime i think she just does those movies to make money…I wish she would think quality not quantity….not a bad actor..but she needs to go to an acting coach and try to vary her characters in every movie..The only complaint i have of her is that …she is the same in every movie…She is just rachel from friends…in every movie i have seen with her it is always the same….If she can reach deeper within…and with the right role she can possilby get an oscar…or atleast be nominated for one…
Yesterday I saw Jennifer in Derailed for the first time and I think she is a wonderful actress. I have no idea why so many people are obsessed with her nose and chin - during the movie I didn’t notice either and all I noticed was the very sensitive way in which she portrayed Lucinda Harris.
I am so glad to be finally on a thread that doesn’t entirely overflow with hatred for Jen. I’m also glad to read comments showing liking for all sides in this triangle. Risking to sound interested in gossip, I think those who noticed that Brad looks away from that boat are right. Angelina seems like she has no life or thoughts of her own outside the kids around her while Brad appears to be somewhere else.
To those who say that Jennifer is ugly, I will only say that she is not. In fact, Jennifer is quite pretty and has some kind of warmth and radiance that Angelina has not, though that opinion of mine is not a stone at Angelina at all. Angelina is very beautiful and looks like no other woman in the world but - sorry if I offend anyone here - she definitely isn’t the most beautiful woman in the world. There are many girls who may be much more beautiful than her but they work outside the movie industry and we’ll never know about them. I have seen such faces - believe me, I know what I’m talking about when I say that the most beautiful people are not necessarily in the show business.
I am sure that over time Jennifer will find peace, happiness and the professional success she has always dreamed about as well as a man who will want to stay with her. Mr Pitt is definitely not the end of the world for any of the women he’s been with and I really hope that he won’t be the end for Angelina if their relationship stops working in the future. He is arguably the sexiest man alive but there is much more to a real man than being sexy. PEACE.
She was great in friends. She has the acting chops but she needs good projects. And she does not have the complex, multi faceted looks of better actresses like Jolie, Sarandon etc.

Have you seen Holofcener’s “Friends with Money”? There is no way you can say that Aniston is playing Rachel in this film! Her portrayal of Olivia is subtle, melancholy and centred.
The posters who are very acerbic towards Aniston because she hasn’t had a child are very surprising. I for one am pleased we have talented actresses who reflect real women’s lives : ie the fact that a HUGE number of us do not have children! I don’t think anyone could have been more creative in their lifetime than JA with her comedic talents, good looks, and strong acting ability.
And to those who wish to bring in statements about Angelina being beautiful as though this were a moral quality, you should be commenting on the prowess of her surgeon.
PS Am very much looking forward to the labrador movie! Hoorah for films about canine companions!

i just surprised as one comment that jenifer anistin is agood actress than angelina jolie youre totally crazy did you watch all their films I MEAN THESSE 2 ACTRESSES? as my comment and im sure everybody will agree angelina is an oscar award winners and she can portrays all her movies well ,as her role is comedy,sexy, horror suspense, action both actors i watch their films and you cannot compare aniston to jolie aniston is only popular because she married brad pitt but if not shes nothing her acting is not so good and im not convinced that shes a good actor she can act in comedy but to far to compare her acting to jolie.
Although I am not a big fan of Owen Wilson (and I agree with the poster that said he does not have very good morals) I still think he is too good for her. He has never been fond of the papparazzi and the mags, and she loves being in them- I mean who gets “accidentaly” photographed topless TWICE? Who has at least two FAKE relationships, for publiciy only? Owen may be too fond of patying and a real player when it comes to women but at least he is honest about it doesn’t pretend to something he is not.
I hope he is smart enough to see right through her.

They were shooting the film today in my town, West Chester, PA. It was pretty cool to see : ) It’s all rainy here, but yet pulled of the snow bit! Looked awesome!
