OlderJennifer Aniston: Marley & Me
Jennifer Aniston has fetched herself a new role in Marley & Me, an adaptation of John Grogan’s bestselling memoir about an incorrigible Labrador retriever.
David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) will direct, Owen Wilson will co-star and production will commence in 2008.
According to Variety, “Marley is the yellow lab adopted by Grogan, a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and his wife. Their idea was to give them a taste of parenthood, but the dog proved to be a hyperactive handful. He wreaks havoc, gets kicked out of obedience school and gets even worse when the children begin to arrive, yet becomes an indispensable part of the family.”
Aniston, 38, also scored herself a small role in He’s Just Not That Into You, an ensemble comedy based on the best-selling book that is a social commentary about modern-day relationships and how men and women often misconstrue the intentions of the opposite sex.
Ken Kwapis (License to Wed) will direct, production will star early September in L.A. and Drew Barrymore is producing via her Flower Films production company.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Aniston will play a woman in a long-term relationship with a boyfriend who will not commit to marriage.”
The film also stars Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and Barrymore.

God, this advert is sooo annoying. Is it called Smart Milk? What the hell does a low-cut dress have to do with selling water? Exactly - nothing. This isn’t Victoria’s Secret.
Has she nothing else to use except her bought and paid for breasts? I mean she displays them in every article! Even in Vanity Fair where she was boo-hooing up and down, she still wanted to be undressed! With regard to Smartwater, I can think of numerous ad scenarios they could’ve gone with that might’ve been interesting and fun, nevermind relevant to the product. But no! Maniston has to insist on getting glammed up (and photoshopped to the max) and showing her boobs! Because that’s all she can do? And yeah, you bet she had a big say in what the ads were going to show.
I can’t wait until she gets older and can no longer shill her fake body parts for roles or contracts. She’s going to be left with a mass of insecurites when she discovers there’s nothing else anyone wants from her.

Jennifer should sue over that picture. It’s not flattering at all. Something very odd about it - maybe it’s the angle. Very unnatural and awkwardly posed. Two of those photos for her Smartwater ads are really unflattering while the third one is just ok. Who is advising this woman?
Those are some beautiful women in that Drew Barrymore movie. Jennifer Connelly (how did they get her?), Scarlet Johanssen, even Drew is extremely pretty. And very good actresses. I think Jennifer is playing the Joan Cusack role. The homely but lovable friend. Let’s hope she can step up her acting game.
Honestly, I can’t believe she still gets any parts. Now it will be Rachel gets a dog.
But people will see it because of Owen Wilson and a lovable canine, and Aniston will get all the credit. Same old same old.

Quit inflicting Maniston on the movie going public. She’s horrible unless they can do 100 takes of each scene with an acting coach like they did in The Good Girl. She is simply a below average actress that should have been waiting tables again long ago.

Personally I think they’re all a tad bit **** at what they do. Angelina Jolie has been in a few good films, and she’s been in a few really naff films, so has Brad Pitt (IMO, I think he’s the worst actor of them all) and so has Jennifer Aniston, but you know what? They’re all a million times better looking, and a million times richer than i’ll ever be.
So…can we all not just agree that they’re all equally as talented, as ****, as beautiful and all very f*cking lucky as one another…
Obviously none of you ppl have actually read the book. It’s a beautiful love story with heartache and humor. I hope the movie is as good. The casting seems a little odd though.
I am not a fan of Jen but those of you who critisise her choice not to have children are such conformists and obviously totally gullable cos you believe all the media hype. Probabbly one of the worst reasons to ever have children is because you have succumbed to peer preassure. The truth is, nobody will ever know what really happened in Brad and Jen’s marriage. It’s so two years ago, everyone has moved on so get over it!
