OlderBrad Pitt Goes Global Green — Part II
Here’s the second batch of Brad Pitt pictures (Part I here) from Global Green USA’s first house project at the Holy Cross Neigborhood association project in New Orleans’s hard-hit Ninth Ward District in Louisiana.
“There’s so much of this culture here that is unlike any other city that we have,” he said. “It’s a feeling that I can’t quite explain, but I love being a part of it.”
Continued Brad, “It’s hard to find an overall victory when you see how slowly everything is still moving. And Katrina was a man-made disaster. This house is a man-made solution.”
“We knew we couldn’t bring back the families and friends that were lost, bring back the heirlooms, the pictures,” Pitt added. “But maybe, in the process of rebuilding, we could build something smarter, and create a better way of life for those people who live here.”

Oh that cover is priceless! Now it is appearent why Huvane issued that denial to US. OK is usually celeb friendly, are they sensing an undercurrent that the general public may be tiring of the years long Jen pity party? May read this in line at the grocery store.
I kinda figured that Angelina and the kids would be there with him. If its not a long stay he may they may not be there, but I find it hard to believe. Brad looks hawt as h e l l doesn’t he. He looks so mature and distinguished.
Brad speaks with so much more confidence now about these type subjects. I do think a great portion has to do with Angelina.
#27, How much money did Brad give? Do you know? He may have given money that YOU (the know it all) may not know about! How much money did you give? When did you travel to NO to help out?

Remember there was some mutterings that Brad gives a “view” as he rises from the bathtub? Well maybe true. Brad looks hot hot with the dark hair. Shiloh had her beginnings during the filming of AOJJ and I must say Daddy was on fire in every way.
I love how Brad looks when he has on his hard hat. He really seems to be in his element. Maybe he should be a building contractor. He is so much finer now than when he was younger and part of the golden couple. He is like a good wine, better with age. And for those who said he wasn’t smart, eat your words suckers. He got Home Depot to get on board with this idea. The tabs and the haters will lose their sh@t behind this latest accomplishment. The jolie/pitts cannot be pegged into one slot. They are everywhere helping. A historic building in Chicago. New housing in New Orleans. Name a couple who does as much and still gets trashed. But they don’t stop. They keep giving, and giving, and giving. As someone upthread said when was the last time photographers were there covering housing, and the lack of it. There are those who are saying he should give more of his own money. They also compared him to Leo Di. How do you know he hasn’t given more? He got the project going which is amazing all by itself. Stop looking for the negative. Be happy for all of those people that were displaced. Keep the focus on NO Brad. Peace.

What I like about those two : STIMULATION !!!
They stimulate each other on so many levels : physically, intellectually, commitment wise, ect…and they stimulate others who think that if you are committed to each other and have love and faith, and honesty toward shared calues and REAL PARTNERSHIP and DEDICATION and COMPROMISE you can have it all if you stimulate each other and share the same dreams.
It seems that being together has risen tremendously the intensity of their respective inner positive energy aimed at doing good.
- Bringing good to themsleves in terms of productive love, family, serenity.
- Bringing good to others because they are at peace with themselves and so enamoured with each other that it releases all the strenght and positive energy so that they invest and get involved in projects that contribute to add to the personal all around fulfillment path they have been taken for the last 2 and a half years.
Just look at how POSITIVELY PRODUCTIVE they have been in a very short period of times in EVERY ASPECT OF THEIR LIFE ! Many of which takes a decade to accomplish. Their love and faith for each other has create that powerful intensity they use in every aspect of their life. they are PERFECTLY MATCHED, PERFECTLY IN TUNE when it comes to FULFILLMENT and are ALWAYS jointly committed to them in terms of support or shared values.

Brad Pitt toured an environmentally friendly home being built in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward on Tuesday.
The home, one of five that Global Green is building in the Holy Cross neighborhood, is based on the winning design in a competition Pitt launched a year ago to help the area recover from Hurricane Katrina.

The home, one of five that Global Green is building in the Holy Cross neighborhood, is based on the winning design in a competition Pitt launched a year ago to help the area recover from Hurricane Katrina.
Wearing khaki pants, a T-shirt and hardhat, Pitt walked through the partially constructed home, pointing out its many “green” features, including blue walls treated with a non-toxic repellant for mold and termites.
Standing in what will be the living room, Pitt noted the light and ventilation in the home. He said a lot of thought has gone into the project.
“We knew we couldn’t bring back the families and friends that were lost, bring back the heirlooms, the pictures. But maybe in the process of rebuilding, we could build something smarter — we could create a better way of life for the people who live there,” Pitt said.
The design, by Matthew Berman and Andrew Kotchen of Workshop APD in New York, includes energy-saving appliances, a cistern, toilets designed for water conservation, soy-based insulation, paperless drywall, solar panels and a roof on the second-story deck designed to help insulate the house and channel water to the cistern.
The house is also designed to relieve some of the burden of bills for low-income families. Pitt said electric bills will be cut by 75 percent; water use, by half.
“I understand the stats, and I understand the technology in what we were after. But I feel something much more different and much more personal when I walk through it, and that is: I feel the family that’s going to live there. And I understand that from a father’s perspective. And he’s going to know that his kids are living in a healthy environment,” Pitt said.
Developers broke ground on the home in May and should be finished in the next month or two.

Thanks for posting this. He is simply amazing and he knows what he is talking about, so very inform and so passionate. I adore this man. He is truly making a difference in so many people lives, and people do appreciate what he is doing so very much. They are people who just talk and don’t take any actions, but Brad and Angie do both.
