Miss South Carolina, Lauren Caitlin Upton, gave the FUNNIEST response during last night’s Miss Teen USA pageant!!!!
Host Mario Lopez stood by as she was asked, “Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?”
Miss South Carolina answered, “I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the US should help the US, uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.”

I don´t like mario lopez, but did you see the look on his face, so funny. It can happen, a person not know where certain countries are located, I mean memorized by heart. But dear lord, the U.S is big.
You can´t generalize, just because shes dumb (or appears), doesn´t mean all americans are.

I didn’t understand what she said…..why was she talking about helping iraq and south africa when the question was about the US?

She should have said “Because in this country we put way more emphasis on looks than on education. I’m a perfect example of that.”

Wow!I actually watched it last night. This is proven that pageant is not about brains- its so about looks. That’s very good to know.
And she represent South Carolina???? Brilliant!
Now, now ladies, she can’t help it if she also thinks that dog fighting is a sport — you know just like Vick and Jamie Foxx think. Right now several of my close friends who are from the south are hiding and won’t come out until this blows over. HA! HA! Somewhere a school teacher has shot herself/himself!!
OK I MUST SPEAK UP FOR THIS POOR CHILD, THE QUESTION SHE WAS GIVEN WAS A VERY THOUGHT OUT QUESTION HOWEVER IN COMPARISON TO THE OTHER QUESTIONS ASKED HER QUESTION WAS ONE MORE FIT FOR A POLITICAL DEBATE NOT A BEAUTY PAGEANT. THE OTHER 4 GIRLS WERE ASKED QUESTIONS THAT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THINGS TEENAGE GIRLS WOULD KNOW MORE ABOUT.
I DONT THINK LAUREN IS STUPID I JUST THINK SHE WAS VERY CAUGHT OF GUARD BY THE QUESTION. IF I WAS HER MOTHER I WOULD SUE WHOMEVER SHE HIRED TO COACH THIS CHILD. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THE CHILD WAS NOT PREPARED TO ANSWER A QUESTION OF THIS LEVEL. JUST A THOUGHT BEFORE YOU JUDGE THIS CHILD YOU NEED TO POST A VIDEO OF THE OTHER GIRLS WITH THEIR QUESTION AND THEIR ANSWERS BECAUSE NONE OF THEM RECEIVED A QUESTION LIKE THIS.
MISS COLORADO DESERVED THE TITLE BUT IT ISNT FAIR TO CALL MISS S. CAROLINA STUPID WHEN THE QUESTION CAME OUT OF LEFT FIELD!!!

Holy Mother Of God!!!!!What was that???if I was Mario Lopez I would have knocked her with the mic on the head just to save her from herself, South Africa has the best learning institutions in Africa, girl needs to go back to school and ask for her tuition money back, its clear she did not learn anything…. come to South Africa we will help you learn something girl!!!!
