Zee is something else — just too adorable and she knows her daddy won’t let anything happen to her. Pax was every where and had a great time. Oh course our little man Mad is doing his own thing. Brad once again shows he was born to be a dad. Finally the BG had his hands full keeping up with Pax. I say they had loads of funny and bet they were wore out by the time they got home.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit the Hamptons last night.

As I was the first to tell you, Tribeca Film Festival cofounders—superproducer Jane Rosenthal and her businessman husband, Craig Hatkoff—threw a dinner party at their Hamptons home to help promote and raise funds for Pitt’s efforts to help rebuild Katrina-devastated New Orleans.

I’m told the intimate four-hour soiree was attended by about 70 people, including Christie Brinkley, Pitt’s Oceans 13 costar Ellen Barkin, Donna Karan, music honcho L.A. Reid and hotelier Andre Balazs. The New Orleans-inspired buffet menu—prepared by Rosenthal and Hatkoff’s personal chef—included crabcakes, salmon, lamb, lemon pound cake and grilled peaches.

Jolie was in white pants and a matching long-sleeve top, a fellow party-goer reports. Pitt wore all black, including a tie.

Cocktails started at about 7p.m. on the deck, followed by dinner under a white tent.

As dinner was winding down, Pitt made a speech. Douglas G. Brinkley, a historian and author of The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, also spoke after being introduced by Pitt, as did environmental architect Bill McDonough.

Pitt and Jolie, I’m told, were the last to leave at about 11 p.m. They apparently left the Hamptons the same way they arrived—by helicopter.

“It was lovely,” the fellow party-goer said. “It was very low-key. It was just a great way for Brad to promote the great things that he’s doing.”

Asked to describe Brangelina, the partyer cooed, “They’re adorable.”

I wish I was better at scheduling when my kids were a lot younger. I always felt guilty about my eldest son might have been sidelined temporarily by my spending much more time with the younger sister when she was a baby.

Oh, I so agree with you. That pix #1 shows so much love between a child and her dad, and the complete trust that child has in her dad. That look on Zee’s little face says it all, “I’m with my daddy and all is right in my world”. Brad, Brad, Brad, you have a supporter for life.

These are just the happiest children, and they are siblings in every way.

Mad is missing a tooth. I think he doesn’t smile so much now. A lot of kids are shame to smile when they are missing teeth.

The answer to New Orleans’s levee woes is painfully obvious: money and willpower. Common sense dictates that the endangered areas — if repopulated (and that is a big if) — demand levees that can sustain Category 5 storms. It’s a national obligation. Entire blocks are moldering away while the federal government lifts only a cursory hand to reverse the desultory trend.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest misperceptions the American public harbors is that Katrina was a week-long catastrophe. In truth, it’s better to view it as an era. Remember, the Dust Bowl of the 1930s lasted eight or nine years. We’re still in the middle of the Katrina saga.

Bold action has been needed for two years now, yet all that the White House has offered is an inadequate trickle of billion-dollar Band-aids and placebo directives. Too often in the United States we forget that “inaction” can be a policy initiative. Every day the White House must decide what not to do.

The stubborn inaction appears to fall under the paternalistic guise of helping the storm victims. Bush’s general attitude — a Catch-22 recipe if ever there was one — appears to be that only rank fools would return when the first line of hurricane defense are the levees that this administration so far refuses to fix.

New Orleans appears to be largely abandoned by the Department of Homeland Security, except for its safeguarding of the Port Authority (port traffic is at 90 percent of pre-Katrina numbers) and tourist districts above sea level, such as the French Quarter and Uptown. These areas are kept alive largely by the wild success of Harrah’s casino and a steady flow of undaunted conventioneers.

The brutal Galveston Hurricane of 1900 may be a historical guide to the administration’s thinking. Most survivors of that deadly Texas storm moved to higher land. Administration policies seem to tacitly encourage those who live below sea level in New Orleans to relocate permanently, to leave the dangerous water’s edge for more prosperous inland cities such as Shreveport or Baton Rouge.

After the 1900 hurricane, in fact, Galveston, which had been a large, thriving port, was essentially abandoned for Houston, transforming that then-sleepy backwater into the financial center for the entire Gulf South. Galveston devolved into a smallish port-tourist center, one easy to evacuate when hurricanes rear their ugly heads.

To be fair, Bush’s apparent post-Katrina inaction policy makes some cold, pragmatic sense. If the U.S. government is not going to rebuild the levees to survive a Category 5 storm — to be finished at the earliest in 2015 and at an estimated cost of $40 billion, far eclipsing the extravagant bill for the entire Interstate Highway System — then options are limited.

But what makes the current inaction plan so infuriating is that it’s deceptive, offering up this open-armed spin to storm victims: “Come back to New Orleans.” Why can’t Bush look his fellow citizens in the eye and tell them what seems to be the ugly truth? That as long as he’s commander in chief, there won’t be an entirely reconstructed levee system.

Shortly after Katrina hit, former House speaker J. Dennis Hastert declared that a lot of New Orleans could be “bulldozed.” He was shot down by an outraged public and media, which deemed such remarks insensitive and callous. Two years have shown that Hastert may have articulated what appears to have become the White House’s de facto policy. He may have retreated, but the inaction remains.

The White House keeps spinning Bush’s abysmal poll numbers by claiming that his legacy will rise decades from now the way Harry S. Truman’s did. But Truman had a reputation for straight talk and bold vision. If Bush wants history to perceive him as Trumanesque, then he must act Trumanesque.

Bush’s predecessors moved mountains. Theodore Roosevelt set aside 230 million acres for wildlife conservation (plus built the Panama Canal). Franklin D. Roosevelt began a kaleidoscope of New Deal programs to calm the Great Depression and Truman oversaw the Marshall Plan rebuilding of Western Europe after World War II. Bush could seize the initiative and announce a real plan to rebuild, a partnership between the government, Fortune 500 companies and faith-based groups.

Unfortunately, right now New Orleans is having a hard time lobbying on its own behalf. Minnesota’s Twin Cities have about 20 Fortune 500 companies to draw in private-sector money to help rebuild the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis. New Orleans has one, Entergy, which is verging on bankruptcy. So besides U.S. taxpayers and port fees, New Orleans must count on spiked-up tourist dollars to jumpstart the post-Katrina rebuild.

But this is where the bizarre paradox of living in a city of ruins comes into play. Out of one side of its mouth the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce says, “Come on down, folks! We’re not underwater!” Yet these same civic boosters — viscerally aware that the Bush administration is treating the desperate plight of New Orleans in an out-of-sight, out-of-mind fashion — don’t want to bite the hand that feeds them large chunks of reconstruction cash. New Orleans is both bragging about normalcy and poor-mouthing itself, confusing Americans about what the real state of the city is.

Recently Mayor C. Ray Nagin, born with the proverbial foot in his mouth, tried to explain why the homicide rate in New Orleans is so appallingly high. When a TV reporter asked, Nagin merely shrugged: “It’s not good for us, but it also keeps the New Orleans brand out there.” This absurd comment — and dozens like it — hurts New Orleans’s recovery almost as much as Bush’s policy of inaction.

Everywhere I travel in the United States, people ask, “Why did you guys reelect such a doofus?” There is a feeling that any community that reelected a “first responder” who stayed in a Hyatt Regency suite during Hurricane Katrina, never delivered a speech to the homeless at the Superdome or Convention Center in New Orleans, and played the “chocolate city” race card at a historic moment when black-white healing was needed probably deserves to get stiffed by the federal government.

And Nagin isn’t the only bad ambassador New Orleans has. It also has City Council member Oliver Thomas, Sen. David Vitter and Rep. William J. Jefferson — all currently in deep trouble for potentially breaking the law. Dismayed by such political buffoonery, Americans have simply turned a blind eye to New Orleans’s reconstruction plight. There is a scolding sentiment around the country that Louisiana needs to get its own house in order before looking for fresh levee handouts.

Then there are egregious contractor crimes such as over-billing and price-gouging. The medical infrastructure has largely collapsed. Mercy and Charity hospitals remain closed. A severe crisis in mental health care has erupted and gang violence is on the rise. The Environmental Protection Agency refuses to clearly state that it’s safe to live in the metro area. Young professionals, recognizing that there are greener pastures all over the nation, are fleeing in droves.

Even with our trillion-dollar debt and excessive military expenses in Iraq, the American people, if presented with a bold plan, might be ready to save the beleaguered city. Perhaps the people haven’t lost their good Samaritan grit.

Let’s, for once, put New Orleans on the front burner. After all, Katrina exposed all the ills of urban America — endemic poverty, institutionalized racism, failing public schools and much more. New Orleans is just a microcosm of Newark and Detroit and hundreds of other troubled urban locales.

How we deal with New Orleans’s future will tell us a lot about our nation’s future. In 2008 it should really be an up or down vote. Category 5 levees or not? An independent FEMA or a FEMA still ensconced in Homeland Security? Do we pour $40 billion into grandiose Louisiana engineering projects or do we instead put up “no trespassing” signs in the areas below sea level? All are hard choices with various merits and pains.
The important thing, however, is for America to decide whether the current policy of inaction is really the way we want to deal with the worst natural disaster in our history

This hater faked her concern that Shi was not seen much. Let me tell you, it’s the AGE !!!! You should read any child developmental book. Children this young, makes a big difference in a lot of the motor skills, and daily schedule. It is this daily schedule which dictates how convenient it is to take them outside the house.
A child 12 months is totally different from a child 11 months or 13 months old even it is only a month apart. Also, sometimes the child may have a cold or ear infection. As any mother knows, it’s better to let the child rest at home.

1) Shiloh, only 15 months old as of today, still takes at least 2 naps a day. Sometimes, it would be very inconvenient to haul her out when it’s so close to her nap time. Ask any mother, they will tell you. But of course, those low life tab magazines which sells to tweenies wont know enough to tell the difference.

2) If you look at the following URL, you will notice that while Mad was in many of the outings , Z was not BECAUSE she was too young at that time . Note her age when she was absent on those outings and also note what kind of outing it was and decide for yourself if that was necessary to bring her along.

3) One hater mentioned that we saw a lot of Z in India. Again, think about Z’s age !!!! age !!! Z was like 21 months old while they were in Mumbai. Still, if you go to the archive, you’ll notice she was absent in the 1st rickasaw ride in India.

4) I’m sure once Shiloh takes fewer naps and has a longer awake time, she will be seen in many of the children’s outings.

5) You haters just want to smear Angie and bring her down. How pathetic !!!

There appears to be two separate sets of pictures. In the auto in the WENN shots do not have the stickers that are on the photos of the other pictures. There three stickers. On WENN there are no photos. Plus when did the man get into the front seat with the driver. In WENN picture the driver does not look Black while in the other you can definitely tell he is black. Just a little confused as to when each were taken. The second group of pictures it appears to be a “Lexus” it is written on the window where Angie is seated. Very difficult to see the WENN picture, not very clear.
Any way, in the second group Brad looks tired but contented. The dinner was a success. The article from E’ said that Brad and Angie were the last to leave, the dinner ended at 11:00 P.M. which means they probably didn’t get home until around 12:30 or 1:00 A.M. I think they both deserve to look tired; especially Angie she had just 2 hours earlier taken the kids to the park for fun and ice cream!

Brad is a great dad. He always has time for his kids.

ya know, maybe Shiloh is not feeling well (little kids sometimes run fevers or catch little tummy bugs) and she can’t go out with the rest of the family. That would not be a stretch. Maybe it is too hot for her because she is so small. Could be any one of a number of things. I think that the quality time these parents spend with their kids is admirable. Four is a lot to keep up with.

They (the paps) would take the pictures anyway, the haters seem to need them (the pictures) to feed their hatred as much if not more than the fans. You look at them with love, like your niece’s and nephews, thank goodness for the love. Love conquers all! Brad evolves and does it well. Brad was ready to be daddy once he got older. X wasn’t, she was career driven and it was her time to truly shine, even though she was the star of Friends it wasn’t enough. X still smoked. I mean Brad kept talking about kids and I was seeing pictures of her smoking every where 2004-2005, cuz people were figuring she would get pregnant and they wanted the pics. Around that time I was really to the show, David Schwimmer studied acting in Chicago I was hoping to the same. X even smoked during her Vanity Fair interview. Yes, that woman really wanted to get pregnant. There is a pic on JJB where X and Brad are in Italy while he films MAMS. Brad is looking at her while she talks on her cell phone and smokes. Yes I have a fire extinguisher in the house, smoke alarm, but what would I do if the fire was on the outside like Greece. Some things you can’t prepare for. What kind of plan can I put in place? Good morning, everyone. My apologies for the later-than-expected report. From my vantage point (and believe me, I was eyeing them both like a hawk!) I’m thrilled to report that Brad and Angelina are together and happy and beautiful and charming and incredibly engaging.

I spoke with both but with Brad at length about his philanthropy (he said after his family, it’s what fulfills him the most), children (the best thing that has ever happened to him. He said Zahara didn’t want him to go to the party and threw a tantrum that he thought was very funny. At first she was hanging on to him. She demanded he pick her up and she wouldn’t let go when he tried to put her down, then as they were practically out the door, she got mad and gave them both the cold shoulder. As he recounted the story, he had this adorable smile on his face that showed just how much he loves her. Very heartwarming.) and the 2008 presidential race (he said he was uninspired by the candidates but he hadn’t chosen yet and would probably not publicly endorse anyone).

He is very normal and funny. Very laid back and like my friend kept saying all night, just “impossibly cool.”

Angelina was very cute in that she was very reverential of Brad. They mingled both separately and together and I spoke to her in a little group of people on one side of the lawn and Brad was on the opposite end and she would talk about N.O. and the 9th Ward and the progress, or lack thereof, and she would always start her sentences with “Brad thinks…” or “Brad believes…” In a good way, not a needy or clingy way. She really built him up. It was nice. She clearly loves him and it was very evident.

I watched her as Brad gave a very good speech about the need for the private sector to do what the government shamefully and inexplicably does not want to do and I could tell she was very proud of him.

As for PDA, I can only remember one brief time when they were eating dinner and talking and he brushed back her hair that had blown across her face.

They are both hands on parents.Look how happy all the 3 of them, even daddy Pitt had a blast. Awesome. Today, probably will be Brad & Ange’s turn, they need a time off from their kids. They deserves it.

Thanks for your efforts last night and today in trying to teach them common sense. But you know it is hopeless with those pea brains. They only want to aggravate us into a response.

All the above URL shows Z was ABSENT in many of the activities. Please note her age of those pictures and the nature of those outings.

There are plenty more occasions, I just dont have time to find those pictures.

I remember one picture in Paris, when Brad and Angie was in the playground (walls with graffitti). Brad was playing a remote control car with Mad while Angie was looking on. Again Z was absent.

There is also another picture which Angie, Brad, and Mad were taken on the way to the airplane. Angie was carrying several children’s book. Again, Z was absent.

All I want to tell the haters is that, when children are so young, sometimes it’s inconvenient to take them out. Young children, even at 15-20 months, still takes a lot of naps.

One more, in Mumbai, Z was clearly absent in the 1st rickasaw ride.

Angie loves all her children. Brad and Angie will make best decisions for their children. It’s ridiculous to say Angie favors Z more just because we dont see enough pictures of Shi .

Wow! I love Brad and seeing him with those kids. He is the greatest dad but i cant say the same about the mother. I just wish Angelina was out the picture.

The kids all looked like the had a great time. Zahara’s facial expression in pic#1 is priceless. :) And Pax smiling is so cute. Mad has that quiet confident aura. I can’t help but cheer for proud papa Pitt and his beautiful family. mama Jolie and baby Shi probably had their own bonding time as well.

I hope the Hamptons fund-raiser raised a lot of money and renewed interest/awareness.

Well weren’t they just among the rich and fmous! WOW Christy and Ellen. Sad they couldn’t get some more famouse people to join them as you guys were so excited that they knew so many famous people. Thank-you rickey for the pictures,the sunday outing in these pictures say it all,the jolie-pitts are good parents,its good to take the kids to the park so they can run that energy off,then feed then ,bathe then, then nap time.and then they will awaken so refreshed.the kids and brad proably went back to hotel put a movie video on,and all crawled in bed with mom to watch a movie.that would complete a good sunday.

I watched her as Brad gave a very good speech about the need for the private sector to do what the government shamefully and inexplicably does not want to do and I could tell she was very proud of him.

As for PDA, I can only remember one brief time when they were eating dinner and talking and he brushed back her hair that had blown across her face.

They personally said goodnight to everyone as they left and more than a few people throughout the night said there was a definite JFK/Jackie aura about them. I didn’t really see it until I saw them see people off at the end of the night.

That’s it. If it means anything to you, I think they’re tight.

They are immensely successful people, not just as ACTORS but also as producer (Brad) and as UN ambassador (Angelina). They didn’t do it by being dumb or self destructive.

It doesn’t surprise me that they are utterly professional and charming. There are many reasons why directors and producers and script writers want to work with Brad and Angelina, but surely one of them is that Brad and Angelina are well liked and well respected. As so many LOSIES have pointed out, Brad and Angelina have not always delivered the box office numbers but still, they keep getting work. Why?? Its obviously not just the money but their talent, their professionalism, and being fun to work with which keeps attracting the work. There may be divas out there but somehow, I don’t think divas survive for as long as both Angelina and Brad have in this highly competitive business.

You know what I was thinking when the kids were small and we took them out I always tried to bring the camera and I would get so pissed off when I forgot it. You just want to capture those moments. Well in JP’s case they don’t have to worry about that, they have a whole slew of them capturing every second :lol:
