Stick it on top of your head - We need more ANGELINA JOLIE !

Whatever Jessica and Nick went to Iraq a few yrs ago, what took Angelina so long?

How about speaking out against the war or taking time to vote?

And how is raising your kids in hotel suites being a good mom?
Why doesn’t the adoption agency look into it?

Those kids come from unstable backgrounds to begin with and Jolie is not providing them with stability.

Also who can hate on someone who is willing do what most of world isn’t. I pray for people and may donate monies but I don’t know if I could challenge myself to do more than that. Could I actually go to such campsites and witness the horros of humanity first hand? Could I leave my comfort zone and go here and yonder for a worthy cause? Could I? Could any of us? I admire Angie, the doctors without borders, United Nations, Red Cross, and so many other agencies. Praying for the release of the Korean hostages who also went outside of their box to help others…God bless all…

So easy to talk about Iraq qhile we’re siting in our houses or offices, so easy to talk, trash and fight about Iraq while we have, clean water, great food, a good computer and LOTS of free times.

So easy to attack and trash people we´ll ever met and pretend we know something.

So easy ….

All while real people are dying, getting raped, losing their homes, getting wounded, etc.

I lived in war zones, part of my family is dead because of war.

I’m not the biggest fan of Jolie but she’s there so I’won’t say a thing. I really don’t car about her intentions, either way no one had clean intentions, not goverments, not politicians, not the UN, not the companies..

That’s how our world works.

Again very easy to talk when you’re sitting in your house probably with a drink and food next to you.

Angelina in Th’Iraq

Were you one of the 3 million + who watched the video of that learning impaired pageant queen bungle up her answer during the Miss Teen USA pageant the other day? If you haven’t the pleasure, click here.

For some reason, she repeatedly refers to Iraq as “th’Iraq”… kills me every time. As does the strategic use of the phrase “such as”. Snort.

Needless to say, Miss Jolie is not Miss South Carolina. And Miss Jolie can not only find th’Iraq on a map, she has actually made the trip to visit. As part of her work with the UNHCR, Angelina flew first to Syria yesterday talking with Iraqi refugees. Then she “crossed into Iraq to meet with 1,200 refugees camped out in a makeshift outpost at the border, because they are unable to leave the country. She also witnessed dozens of Iraqis crossing into Syria.”

Said Angelina:
“I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners. My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq. It is absolutely essential that the ongoing debate abut Iraq’s future includes plans for addressing the enormous humanitarian consequences these people face.”

Very cool. Because as much as it could be construed as publicity and image making, at the end of the day, she’s not flashing her cootie while getting out of a car, or waving from her beach house in Malibu. And if hanging out in a war torn country in the most unglamourous conditions ever guarantees a few headlines … so be it. I personally could never. I am a lesser person. I can’t even camp.

My friend Lara is somewhere in Africa right now on assignment with the kids from Degrassi. They are building a house there for those who cannot manage and shooting the process for an MTV documentary. She’s been living in a tent or some kind of hut for the last week, probably showering with only a litre of water a day, having the experience of a lifetime. If it were me, even if attended by a dozen assistants fanning me at night, hand feeding me grapes, still I couldn’t survive. And coming home to a life with Brad Pitt shuttling from private jet to million dollar residence is still not incentive enough.

If Angelina Jolie gives a **** about refugees why doesn’t she say END THE WAR? Oh yeah because it would mess up her fan base. Duh.

Get a clue people. wake up and think for yourselves, you guys re-elected Bush and the war goes on. Why is that?

The people who do the least complain the most. We can’t solve all the problems, we can try. At the end of the day Angelina Jolie will go down in history as one of the greatest women in America, if not the world, and she’s only 32.

#138: awww, Angie did something good again that made you hurt. Why oh, why can’t she just stay at home so you can say more bad things about her, eh? Why does she have to hotfoot it to a very dangerous place and shine that light on the poor refugees? Doesn’t she know that she is scoring good points with some people and driving the trolls bananas? Now she’ll have more fans than ever and the trolls will have to undo another great deed from the good book. It sucks, man!
