A spokesman for 20th Century Fox recently brushed off questions about Marley and Me, in which Owen is to star in alongside Jennifer Aniston. “It’s a totally inappropriate at this time when all of our thoughts and concerns are with his health and well being,” the spokesperson told Variety.

This is why i hate those magazines. They take every opportunity to exploit a situation.
As the mother of a former addict my heart is breaking for him and his family. My son never attempted suicide but nearly died from a crack cocaine addiction. He was a wonderful, bright happy child who started experimenting in his teens. He finally hit bottom in 1992 and has been clean and sober since. He now owns his own business a beautiful home and family. You can recover but YOU have t want to. Friends and family cannot force you to. My prayers are with him.

I REALLY hope the latest meme isn’t going to be that Kate caused Owen’s suicide attempt. It wasn’t her fault. If someone is in that state of mind, nothing will deter them, not love, not money…nothing. He had his own reasons for doing it, and I truly hope he is able to address them and keep it from happening again. All the best to Owen and his family.

They are really exploited this tragedy by putting Kate’s pic on the cover, dragging her into it.
Life is so precious….
Trustingly, this will be Owen’s wake-up call to get on a straight and narrow path to full recovery….all friends who continue to use substance of any kind will need to be removed from his life after appropriate therapy.
Owen Wilson is loved and supported in, hopefully, a loving and professional recovery environment in the months ahead.

Then you have pics of her kissing her new man in a grocery store looking happy, while her ex is in the hospital. As sad as I feel for Owen the only person responsible for him is himself. No one else can be blamed .
Leave Kate out of this. It is turning this into a tabloid circus when a man’s life is at stake. He is a great actor and a great guy that doesn’t deserve this in what is obviously his darkest hour. Good thoughts and good wishes to him.

i don’t believe he was abusing drugs. if he were a drug addict, he wouldn’t have chosen to slit his wrists. he would rather OD. and i think it’s very cruel to pin the blame on kate hudson. people suffering from depression can lose perspective at times and see suicide as the only way out. he is the only person who knows why he did it, not even those closest to him will really know what went on in his mind that led him to that decision.
My thoughts and prayers are with Owen and his family. I think it’s just awful when someone going through something extremely personal and difficult experiences it along with the rest of the world. It’s going to make it that much harder for him to go through. I really do wish him the best

Can’t we just let him be? I’m guilty as the next, I check celebrity gossip everyday, but this is one situation where I feel the media is out of line. No matter the cause - drugs or not - this man is sick enough to have slit his wrist. He needs to be left alone so he can heal, not a dollar driven cover boy.
The truth of the matter is that we neither know that actor Owen Wilson has had a drug problem, nor do we know that tried to commit suicide. This is all unseemly speculation about what is obviously a completely private matter. This is not a spectator sport. We know nothing of these facts and they are none of our business. Owen Wilson deserves his privacy.
Actress Kate Hudson also deserves her own privacy, and considering their romance ended quite some time ago, she has no relevance to this story.
Owen Wilson needs to heal.

It’s a sad situation for everyone involved and he deserves his privacy to reach the level of peace that he is searching for. I am part of the older generation (baby boomer) and have always been a big fan of Owen Wilson — I have seen all of his movies–but I can not help but wonder why one of his brothers, friends, co-workers, and fellow celebrities did not assist in any intervention before this happened? This has probably been going on for many years and his fans were not aware of it. I really hope he gets the help and intervention that he needs so desperately.

Reading some of these comments is like being in high school again. Some of you come into these threads for the sole purpose of starting or joining some sort of clique-like conflict over a bunch of *ssholes you’ll never meet and who don’t give a crap about you. Grow the f*ck up, will you?
They were reporting today that Owen was regularly attending AA meetings, but stopped going in January. It’s not surprising that he or anyone else in HW has a drug and/or alcohol problem. Suicide is never about another person, so blaming anyone else is ridiculous and hurtful.
I think he’s funny - hello, Zoolander?? - and I hope that he is able to get the help that he needs. I’d like to see more movies in the future where he makes us all laugh.
Let’s set the record straight. Kate and Dax were photographed in the LA market BEFORE Owen tried to die. Kate has nothing to do with them. Owen has dark demons he has to address. He’s a young, strong guy. He can go it. He needs prayers and immense support.
Why can’t people just let people be. If it hasn’t happened to anyone else then how can they possibly comprehend what these people are going through. It is the scrutiny they are under 24/7 and the contant microscope placed beneath their every waking move. They can’t eat in private while out, they can’t drive anywhere, the paparrazi won’t let them make a move without being in their faces constantly. And don’t try telling me they ask for it by being a talented actor or actress, singer or songwriter, why because they made someting of their lives? So they are actors and not Attorney’s. Wow this brings memories flooding back. My brother-in-law commited suicide 2 years ago in a horrible manner due to his long standing addiction to heroine. He couldn’t stand it anymore. Afer numerous attempts at trying to sober up, and repeated detox and clinics he threw himself off a nine story building. I also suffered through a painful divorce due to my Ex being an addict. You can clean yourself up but you have to hit rock bottom. I certainly hope Owen gets the help he desperately needs.
I think it was just a plain & simple Drug Overdose! The media is glamming it up by claiming it was a suicide attempt!
My XBF was very similar in personality & attitude to Owen. And you’d never have known he was an addict. He was bright, hilarious & funloving, but man! when he was jones’n or doing the shiz, he was totally unreasonable, hyper & paranoid to the point of a heart attack, but constantly trying to TOP the last best high.
Coke gets ahold of your brain & takes control so it’s all you think about & crave if you give it an inch, it’ll take a mile. You can’t be a “moderate” or social or occasional user if you have the means; you’ll easily go off the deep end.
It would be nice if all these celebrities who’ve recently been pumped up as party’ers & in/out of rehab repeatedly would just admit the truth — that they are addicted to cocaine, heroin, etc, & not just say they are out ‘partying’ or insinuate that it’s alcohol. It’s hard drugs they’re doing & I think the public needs to know the truth & have it plainly stated.

Poor thing, I bet he hates everyone knowing about what has he has done. He should have used some of his money to get out for a while to reconnect with his soul.
