OlderLuke Wilson Visits Brother Owen
Luke Wilson joins friends and family to be at older brother Owen’s side at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in West Hollywood on Monday. Also pictured visiting the hospital: actor pal Woody Harrelson.
It was recently confirmed that Owen did, in fact, attempt suicide and he has been depressed for the last few months. But it’s not over a broken relationship, reports state.
Extra reports, “The Calls For Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson’s house as an “attempted suicide.” The call was received on Sunday, August 26 at 12:08:16pm. The incident was ‘cleared’ almost five hours later at 5:07:16pm.”
Owen recently released this statement via his rep:”I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.”

Why does everyone turn his depression into a soap opera? The Kate Hudson break-up was months ago. Can’t a guy commit suicide over something other than a girl?
I love coming to this site and looking at celebrity photos, but when an awful thing like this happens and photographers are stalking the hospital to get a new picture….it really pisses me off.
Yeah, celebs make millions of dollars, but do they really deserve to have no human courtesy.

I agree with Susan. You would think that they would leave the Wilsons alone since it’s such a serious thing. I really feel for the family - but at least it seems Owen has a lot of good people supporting him.
I’m so happy to see his family and friends really supporting him. Hopefully now he will realize that he is not alone in the world. There are always people who love you whether they say it to you often or not.

Whatever his issues, my prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time. I can only hope that he has an opportunity to really appreciate life and the love he is receiving from his family.

He looks like he is pleading with the photographers to leave them alone. I love getting gossip, but my heart goes out to the family that is trying to deal with this and get Owen better.

Luke looks so upset, like #13 said, he looks like he’s pleading with the photogs to quit it. So sad. What a horrible thing for a family to have to go through. It looks like Luke is coming with some pizza to cheer his brother up, though. So sweet.

My thoughts and well wishes are with Owen and his family right now. It’s nice to see his family and friends by his side but the whole world doesn’t need to see it. Out of respect, I think these pictures should be removed.
i like the culture of celebrities and looking at their photos, its a fun, mindless thing to do while i eat lunch but it really becomes a bit tasteless and cruel to continue to hassle a family while they are going through such a difficult time.
This is so sad. Luke looks utterly distraught over his poor brother as well any sibling would. I think the media should give them some privacy going to visit Owen, this is just too personal and painful.

I am so saddened by this. As someone who knows those thoughts I can relate.I do hope the media does not run amok with this as it often times is not just about one thing. That empty void has been there far longer then a simple break up.

I really like the Wilson boys. I will be praying for Owen’s complete recovery…There really needs some type of limitations on the paps especially when it comes to children, sickness and death. Looking at Luke’s agony is just heartbreaking…The paps need to bug off…

He is very lucky to be alive (I hope he sees it as that) because researches show that it is mainly women who survive attempted suicides with men usually being successful at first go. He seriously needs to get help and address his issues cause in these early days he’s not out of the woods yet. Most people will go on to attempt again with some being successful. Get help Owen, life is precious and God saved you for a reason.
How awful for Luke to have been the one to find him. Sounds like the three are close and this must have cut his heart to pieces. Shame on the intrusive paps and mags.
I am pretty sure you are not allowed to take these photos in the hospital. I feel for the family because that is total invasion of privacy.
You know what’s sad is that so many homeless people get harassed and asked to leave private property, but these paparrazzi seem to be immune from any lawsuits or laws.
I really think that you should take this down. This is NOT gossip news or something that should be up on a celeb gossip/posting site. This is a serious FAMILY issue and you should RESPECT his and their privacy Jared and take this down. I agree with some of the others who think pictures of visitors for Owen is disrespectful. I’d rather not see them and it’s worse when I can see the pain on Luke’s face. No, I didn’t want to see the pictures. A simple report that Luke visited his brother is enough. But more, I feel so much for Owen and hope he has a full recovery - both physically and emotionally. I’ve always liked Owen both on screen and of what I’ve seen him away from films.
I won’t look at any more invasive pictures related to Owen’s current condition.

From having a family member who commited suicide when I was young and knowing what it is like and knowing what they must be going through. Seeing this picture is gut-wrenching. Seriously, this is bad taste. Take it down.

We constantly hear from magazine editors who defend their publications, in regards to intrusive pap photos as required because everyone else is doing it and the public’s appetite demands. I agree with everyone else who posted comments that this photo is in such bad taste, is completely unnecessary for a show of Wilson Family support, and only further torments and frustrates a family who are probably going through one of the possibly worst situations. I gain nothing from this photo but disgust for the pap who went to such scummy lengths and sadness because I thought Jared was above posting such tabloid pics and had at least some respect for the celebs. By posting these photos, it makes Editors feel warranted in printing them and pap’s feel justified in finding more instrusive and destructive ways to seek the elusive shot. PLEASE TAKE THESE DOWN.
Wow, the paparazzi really are animals, aren’t they? Luke Wilson found his near-dead brother a couple of hours ago and this is the sympathy he gets; “smile I want make easy money by putting a photo of your sobbing, bewildered mug in a gossip rag”. People who support this type of callous behavior should be…oh, wait.
Yeah, not even Perezhilton stooped this low by posting these pics of Luke and that’s saying a lot.

Suicide is a desperate act; to attempt suicide is a personal tragedy that deeply affects the victim and his family. It’s not for us to decide what or why, nor should we judge Owen. He is a multi-talented man who obviously is dealing with some personal issues, and we should respect his privacy and hope that he will be okay. It’s obvious that he didn’t want publicity from this situation, and we have no right to intrude.
If you want drama, attack the celebutantes and the bizarre antics of the partying pop tarts. But allow this man to heal in private and to reconnect with those who love him the most.

I actually don’t feel bad for him. I find it hard to be sympathetic towards someone with that much money, he could afford the best drugs that money could buy. He has the opportunity to receieve everything he wants. He has been one of my favorate actors for so long, but I lost all respect for him. He has so much going for him and he could make a huge difference for so many people, and its selfish to try and kill yourself just because things aren’t going your way. Hopfully he realises how many people he has hurt in this process of hurting himself. I wish his family luck and peace.
