Angie is so beautiful I have to remind myself to breathe sometimes when I look at pictures of her. And she’s also so breathtakingly beautiful to me because of what I know about her, not just how she looks.

All you people with your granny talk. If today’s grannys in the US looked liked what Angelina looked like, their children and grandchildren would not be walking around in freaking flipflops, yeast infestion making jeans and wearing thongs. You all know dam well that most of the grannys are car sized, missing tooth and wearing “clothes” made by Omar the tent maker. Many people today will go an entire lifetime without wearing actual shoes. Just sneakers and flip flops or barefoot. There was a time when all American women were dresed even in rural areas. On Sundays everyone had their Sunday best on. Today mention Sunday best to someone they look at you and say “what”? LOL!!!!!! they are clueless.

I am getting excited. I am thinking already that Angelina might be coming too in Toronto. Hope so. If they stay in Europe for few more days then they will surely be coming in Toronto & then proceed to New York after since it is only 50 minutes by plane.
If the family ever go here, there are good stuff for kids to enjoy. The Ontario Science Centre has excellent exhibits for children. Also, there is an animatronics of Dinosaurs at the Toronto Zoo & another dinosaur bone exhibit at Royal Ontario Museum.

I’m a grandmother 5 times over and I wear a size 4 and I couldn’t like this in a month of Sundays.

This is a major “art western” of the first order — one of the most immaculate and uncannily “right” time-machine visits into a bygone world ever put to the screen. As far from a post-modern shoot-em-up as you can get and not even a contender in the ways of the rousing, rip-snortin’ Wild Bunch, this is one of those awesomely assembled visitations that just sinks in like a sunovabitch. It makes you sit right up and forget everything except for the novelistic richness and aliveness of what’s filling the screen. Either a movie like this is “in the zone” or it isn’t, and Jesse James’ worth is unquestionable in this respect. Any film maven who doesn’t recognize this simple fact has, no offense, his head up his ass.

Tis true…once you make a generic commercial hit film like Mr. & Mrs. Smith. You can ride that gravy train of commercial success for at least 5 years before you get the pressure to make another commercial film. That’s why you do these type of films, so that you can do films you want to do. Johnny Depp and Matt Damon says this all the time. Do the commercial ones then do the really good films for a few years. I do think that with Jesse James, unfortunately being an icon in some parts of the country, will do well with a certain demographic. People love stories of outlaws and gangsters.

I love pearls. They feel luscious against the skin. I love that triple strand.
Not a fan of lace because it looks fussy but as someone said in the earlier thread, it works if you keep it simple, as Angelina has done. No bows, not furlows (what are they??) no complicated pleats and darts. Jewelry is also simple - pearl studs and pearl necklace. Very elegant, very understated.
I like it when Angelina pulls her hair up into a chignon. Its a very elegant look and shows of the beautiful facial bone structure. You need beautiful facial bone structure to pull off this chignon look as there is no where to hide any imperfections, like a too big nose or asymetrical jaw.
I like the white on Bradley too. No other guy on the red carpet wore white so Brad really stood out.

#98 Lisa, Matt Damon was hopping from one country to another since shooting and promoting BU, he was in Australia a fews weeks ago, in Berlin last week, and was now in France opening BU. he will be back to TIFF next week and the week after he might start shooting another movie as well as promoting BU in othr parts of the world. His wife and kids were always with him all this times but never heard anyone complaining about dragging his kids all over thw world. Lucie was with Matt side in every movie promotion, but never heard anyone complaing Lucie was not aprt of the cast. I think it became so natural to the haters and the big bad biased media to have another set of standard when anything is connected to Angelina Jolie.

A poster on the other thread wrote that she was watching italian news. Angelina and Brad had a laugh when a couple of fans gave her pictures of a shirtless Brad to autograph. So maybe this is what this picture is all about.
Guys, I was watching Much Music Station & they showed Britney Spears wearing almost the same material used on Angie’s dress but Brit’s one is sort of mini & since Angelina is on a top notch film festival it is much more appropriate to have it like a gown style. But she carries that dress like a pro.

Haven’t you noticed that since Angie hooked up with Brad & got 4 kids she dresses conservatively. Before she’s more daring & upfront sexy. I think that this film will actually do quite well at the box office - a western with a new spin on the great story of Jesse James, and the world’s biggest film star in the lead. Not to mention coming out in late September. When they do the re-release of AMH later this fall it will do quite well too. Can’t wait for awards season and a possible baby bump! sigh…

I like it when Angelina pulls her hair up into a chignon. Its a very elegant look and shows of the beautiful facial bone structure. You need beautiful facial bone structure to pull off this chignon look as there is no where to hide any imperfections, like a too big nose or asymetrical jaw.

Just notice one more thing about that dress. I do a bit of sewing and I have to say, Angelina’s dress is a beautifully cut and constructed piece. Every little dart will show up as a heavy line on the lace. Notice how there are NO DARTS where the boobs are. It’s very difficult to shape and fit a piece of fabric over the boobs (unless you are flat chested) without darts and not have pieces of fabric sticking out. You essentially need to shape a cone to cup the boobs. Try doing it on a piece of tissue paper and you’ll see what I mean.
Same with the skirt as it falls from the empire line. Looking at the drape of that lace fabric, the lace looks like it was cut on the bias. I remember reading that Edith whats her name (can never remember names) the great hollywood costume designer, loved to cut her evening gowns for the stars on a bias because it gives such beautiful drape and movement to the wearer, but it shows off every curve (or lump!!!).

Oops, clicked too soon. Want to say, as a bit of a tailor myself, I’m starting to love the way this dress and really appreciate the craftsmanship required to make that dress. It is really beautiful.

lylian– if I can pick your brain on JJB people feel the dress is undone inthe back. I am not a tailor — or a dressmaker — just do a bit of sewing over the years. I think it is just a bit too big or gappy and that it is vintage haute couture and not made specifically for Angelina — do you have an opinion on this?

coal, I think Angie’s dress is made from an Italian tailor. It is well done. This seemed to compliment any figure. It reminds me of those old veils used by women when they go to church.

Julianne - I agree with you - I think it’s more of a ‘friendly rivalry’ that he, MD, and GC have goin’ on… they are all A-List stars, freaking millionaires, and get all the love and attention they could ever possibly need from their families, friends, and fans. Give Matty some credit people - he is damn relieved that he isn’t under the same 24/7 klieg lights that Angie and Brad are.
