OlderJames McAvoy is Quite the Looker in London
The always dapper James McAvoy arrives at the UK premiere of Atonement at the Odeon in Leicester Square on Tuesday in London, England.
Other pictures include James arriving at Excelsior Hotel late last week for the Venice Film Festival.
McAvoy’s father, also called James, has told UK’s The Daily Mail of his heartfelt plea for a reunion after a 21-year estrangement from his son.
“I would meet him any time, any place,’ he said. “But I would never want anything off James and never take any payment for interviews.
“I backed out of his life because I was told that my visits were upsetting him. But with all the years that have passed, I feel I could not now make the first move. Any reconciliation has to be in his own time.”

No way, Dad. Any parent who really cared for their child would NEVER “back away” from them. No matter what anyone else “told” you, you would never agree to walk away. You are looking for a way to cash in. Very obvious. Would you be so interested if your boy was just a cashier at the drug store? Doubt it.

i don’t understand why estranged parents who are trying to “respect” their child’s boundaries go blabbing to newspapers and tabloids.
isn’t it obvious? james is getting more famous and probably more bank in his pocket, so his dad comes a crawling. i think it’s pretty embarrassing for his dad to be like that. or maybe we all know about it because he is becoming more famous and his dad has always wanted to reconnect, but couldn’t get the info out there cause james wasn’t as well known. either way i think it’s kinda shady to do that to james while he’s having all this success. but i don’t know either one so i’m just going of speculation like the rest of us.
