Nicole Kidman bares all for the October 2007 cover of Vanity Fair, as photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. Here are some highlights:
On her miscarriage while still married to then-husband Tom Cruise: “From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies. And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that’s when it came that we would adopt Bella.”
On hubby Keith Urban’s rehab stint: “I’ve learned an enormous amount having a relationship with someone who is in recovery. I’m more than willing to walk it with him. … We were in a very, very, very bad, painful place and have managed to step through it, and I hope that gives some people some hope who may be in the same place. And that’s enough said. Anything else is overindulgent and unnecessary right now.”
On handling a long-distance relationship: “Two weeks is still too long for us (to be apart). We like one week. We start to hurt after seven days.”
On having kids with Urban.: “I’m yearning to have one. I think I would be very sad if I wasn’t able to have a baby. Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly.”
On her children with ex Tom Cruise: Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12: “I called Tom (from Australia) and said, ‘Guess what? Bella wants blue hair.’ I go with my daughter to the hair salon to get it dyed blue, and I look at her and I think, My God, it’s cool!”
On her personality traits: “I get engaged and I get married — that’s my thing,” Kidman says after revealing that she was engaged to a man she declined to identify after her split from Cruise and before she hooked up with Urban. “I wasn’t ready. We weren’t ready.”
Nicole’s Vanity Fair issue hits newsstands in NY/LA on Wednesday and nationwide September 11. The baby-in-the-jacket shot is the hotness!!!! (It’s her niece Sybella.)

Yes, she was too smart for Tom Cruise. He was also threatened by her acting skills. Now he has someone that is not smart, cannot act, and is not beautiful like Nicole….
She is so classy - NOT! Her children must be proud. What a great role model for Bella. Nice comments about the marriage - ah yeah - it sounds like it is a real solid marriage - what a joke! She is also a big fat liar - they don’t see each other every week. KEITH flies out to see her every two weeks. She hasn’t gotten her **** on a plane to see him once while she is filming in Oz, and please don’t use that as an excuse - she films for three weeks and has a week off!
Interesting that she is going to try to have a baby with Keith. Why didn’t she have one with Tom. I mean obviously he can get someone pregnant right? That’s his baby with Katie. pr person - since you admire her so much, please share with us why she would have to exploit her niece again? I can see Tom and Paul posing with their children, but why did she have to bring her niece into the picture - why not have her children since you seem to think they have spent the whole spring and summer there? (By the way, they have been at CofS camp while Tom has been in Germany.) She uses the words yearning and that she would be very sad if she didn’t have a baby - I call that a guilt trip on Keith if she doesn’t have one!

Based on VF, at age 23, that would have been 1990. Nicole wanted to have babies, but suffered a miscarriage.
Some women I know who had miscarriages would wait a little while before trying again. Different women react differently to the trauma of a miscarriage.
So two years after her miscarriage,in 1992, she might have given that interview to Hello! “I’m not opposed to having children. I definitely want them at some stage. Just not right now.”

I love Nic, I think she’s a classic beauty, and as far as the cover of the magazine is concerned, not my favorite, although she’s already, or nearly 40, if you’ve got it flaunt it I suppose :)

I have talked to people who have worked with her (I work in a related media). They say she is one of the hardest working actresses in the business. Always does her research and knows her lines and gracefully does take after take without complaint.
They also said she talks to her kids daily, emails them constantly (although both she and Tom do limit internet access because of the cruel things that are written about them both), and with regards to Keith and the kids–she sees them a lot more than the press documents. She either owns or rents a private jet and can be with them or Keith in an instant and vice versa.
You know if she had physical custody of the kids, no one would say a word about Tom not seeing them every day. In fact, most of the blog comments don’t say a word about Tom not being with the kids. How hypocritical is that. After the divorce she had the kids until as a unit (Tom, Nicole and Bella and Connor) they all decided Tom was the better parent to live with. What is wrong with that? Much better than an acrimonious custody battle. And she apparently according to my sources and reading between the lines is really happy they have Katie as a stepmother. Bravo Nicole for taking the high road.

Before my mum had me,she had a misscariage,which was of course very painful!After a while she got me but sometimes we still talk about it so she can get it of her chest,so I don’t see why still talking a bout it after a long time is wrong.Every women deals with it in a diffrent way with it but there just is no “Right”way to do it!So nothing wrong with Nicoles statement!

and i really don’t think she had work done, high quality close up pics of her always show her definite signs of aging, esp with a good amount of wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, i would hope if someone were to spend so much money getting something done, they wouldn’t bother to leave the wrinkles

What you wrote is consistent with what I heard from a friend in the entertainment field. I might add that she’s known to be ALWAYS showing up on time on her film sets, and is very courteous to her co-workers.
Nicole should have been married to Prince Albert of Monaco in first place. She was perfect match for him, BLOND, graceful, very beautiful and eternal young (thanks for botoxs).

Nicole’s sister is going through a divorce right now and obviously Nicole is trying to spend as much time as she can with her sister to help her through the divorce. I don’t get this obsession people have thinking she’s botoxed. I just watched an interview over at Access Hollywood site with Nicole which looks like it took place around 1997-1998. In it, she hardly moves her forehead. Before everyone says BOTOX! let me just say BOTOX was not approved by FDA for cosmetic use and available until April 2002 so I doubt she was using it before then. People have just got BOTOX on the brain and it seems to have frozen their brain cells so whenever they see a picture they automatically shout BOTOX! LOL! Nicole has always been called elegant and very reminiscent of Old Hollywood. Why? If you watch actresses from yesteryear they too hardly moved their foreheads. Many conveyed emotion through their eyes, just like Nicole. They didn’t need to scrunch their foreheads and grimace like many expect the actresses to do today. Emotion through the flick of the eyes is much more powerful. She’s just different and people should let her be her self. She’s too white? So. That’s how God made her. Some of you sound like bullies in a schoolyard.

Anybody would look good with a glam team and an airbrush. As far as talent, her latest “epic”, and I use that term loosely, is being pulled out of theaters this week after being released what - two weeks ago? One bomb after another.

Nicole is a beauty through and through. Botox does not make her beautiful; the person inside Nicole makes her the beauty that she is. She has beauty inside and out, that is why she radiates and that is why she is classy.

Natalie, what is your problem? You obviously are obsessed with her. Are you secretly in lust/love with Keith and can’t stand that she got him? What gives? You know “everything” about her because you read? How strange is that to read compulsively about someone you dislike?
And yes I have children and I often was out of town working and they stayed with my parents. I had children to support and a great paying job and a dead husband. My company graciously allowed me six weeks off after he died, but was I suppose to give up a six-figure job and stay home and use their college funds and run the life insurance out to live on? Should I have taken a much lower paying job and put us in poverty–moved them out of everything they knew just so I could be home. Like Bella and Connor, they knew they were deeply loved by me, by their dad, my grandparents, aunts and uncles. They never took drugs, were promiscous, drank much at all, and were never in trouble. Like the Jolie-Pitts, I was often able to take them with me when I worked and they went to Europe several times and most of the larger cities in the U.S. They are all “world” citizens and productive human beings. Just like Bella and Connor.
Not everyone wants the life style you push, some like Cruise-Kidman or the Jolie-Pitts, know that the quality of their love, their respect for their children as individuals, and the quality of their time spent with the kids is what counts. Not just being there constantly in a superficial way.

I felt very very sorry when Tom Divorced her because he said “Nic knows EXACTLY why we are divorcing. I wanted to cry for her. I do not like the exposure-I think it’s a bad idea. there are some really good, classy photos in this shoot - they could have used a photo of her in a white swimsuit, she looks like Grace Kelly in it. Instead they made her look cheap-it’s not even the bra, it’s her expression. I bet she regrets trusting the photographer here. There is no need for an actress of her caliber to do the dumb blonde routine in order to get the cover–we expect Nicole to exude class and glamour. I wish she really opened up about Cruise–THAT would sell papers, guaranteed!

She doesn’t really talk about how many miscarriages she had but I’m sure it must be a few, seeing that she wanted a bio child so bad. The fact that she had a miscarriage early in her fist marriage isn’t news, if you google it you will find she suffered an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage and infertility problems in the past and that makes it more difficult for her to get pregnant.

So what if the cover shot was photoshopped? It was the magazine editor’s decision to do that. At least this is proof that she has not gotten a boob job, contrary to what some naysayers have been saying.
Also the magazines are notorious for airbrushing all their cover shots and glossy pictures. They do that to almost all the actresses. So all you NK haters out there, the next time you spout that ‘botox’ word, think ‘photoshop’ and ‘airbrushing’ instead. Nicole has some very faint wrinkles in her candid photos and in person, but she looks beautiful nevertheless.
Her forehead doesn’t move in those “non photoshopped” pics either. She is the queen of botox! I remember my favorite pic. Christmas in OZ. Her and Keith at the movie theater. I don’t understand the whole “I had one miscarriage” Kasey Kasem’s wife had something like 15 miscarriages & they kept trying!!! If you want to have a baby you try more than once. I don’t like that people USE adoption & OTHER PEOPLE’S CHILDREN when they can’t have one themselves. If someone actually wants to love a child who has no home that’s one thing but to try & substitute an adopted child for one because you’re steril doesn’t float with me. Some people who do that are selfish and really have no genuine feeling for the child. I am glad they chose a BLACK kid to adopt also. That says something.
