Nicole Kidman bares all for the October 2007 cover of Vanity Fair, as photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. Here are some highlights:
On her miscarriage while still married to then-husband Tom Cruise: “From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies. And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that’s when it came that we would adopt Bella.”
On hubby Keith Urban’s rehab stint: “I’ve learned an enormous amount having a relationship with someone who is in recovery. I’m more than willing to walk it with him. … We were in a very, very, very bad, painful place and have managed to step through it, and I hope that gives some people some hope who may be in the same place. And that’s enough said. Anything else is overindulgent and unnecessary right now.”
On handling a long-distance relationship: “Two weeks is still too long for us (to be apart). We like one week. We start to hurt after seven days.”
On having kids with Urban.: “I’m yearning to have one. I think I would be very sad if I wasn’t able to have a baby. Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly.”
On her children with ex Tom Cruise: Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12: “I called Tom (from Australia) and said, ‘Guess what? Bella wants blue hair.’ I go with my daughter to the hair salon to get it dyed blue, and I look at her and I think, My God, it’s cool!”
On her personality traits: “I get engaged and I get married — that’s my thing,” Kidman says after revealing that she was engaged to a man she declined to identify after her split from Cruise and before she hooked up with Urban. “I wasn’t ready. We weren’t ready.”
Nicole’s Vanity Fair issue hits newsstands in NY/LA on Wednesday and nationwide September 11. The baby-in-the-jacket shot is the hotness!!!! (It’s her niece Sybella.)

I don’t get this obsession people have thinking she’s botoxed. I just watched an interview over at Access Hollywood site with Nicole which looks like it took place around 1997-1998. In it, she hardly moves her forehead. Before everyone says BOTOX! let me just say BOTOX was not approved by FDA for cosmetic use and available until April 2002 so I doubt she was using it before then. People have just got BOTOX on the brain and it seems to have frozen their brain cells so whenever they see a picture they automatically shout BOTOX! LOL! Nicole has always been called elegant and very reminiscent of Old Hollywood. Why? If you watch actresses from yesteryear they too hardly moved their foreheads. Many conveyed emotion through their eyes, just like Nicole. They didn’t need to scrunch their foreheads and grimace like many expect the actresses to do today. Emotion through the flick of the eyes is much more powerful. She’s just different and people should let her be her self. She’s too white? So. That’s how God made her. Some of you sound like bullies in a schoolyard.
Miller - thank you! I guess nobody has seen her when she has gone out and about on her own without her glam team. She looks no different than any other woman. Anybody would look good with a glam team and an airbrush. As far as talent, her latest “epic”, and I use that term loosely, is being pulled out of theaters this week after being released what - two weeks ago? One bomb after another.
Dancer, do you have children? If so, would you like the only daily contact you have with them through email? You seriously think this is a healthy mother/children relationship? How about attending a sports event for your kids once in a while - I know mine would be hurt if I ever missed one of their games. This must be some new parenting via the world wide web. I am really impressed with her now!
Natalie you are obviously not a NK fan but it’s scary how much you follow and post news on NK. Surely that’s not normal? There are actors I don’t like but I can’t muster the time to post put down comments. Why should I waste my precious time on people I don’t care about. I find it it scary how many mentally unstable people are roaming this world.

Natalie, Kidman already explain why she passes few time with her children.
They study in LA, and she and Tom tough it wouldn’t be good to them be all the time flying all over the world, so when Kidman is out of America they stay with Tom, when she is there, they stay with Kidman.

Nicole is a beauty through and through. Botox does not make her beautiful; the person inside Nicole makes her the beauty that she is. She has beauty inside and out, that is why she radiates and that is why she is classy.
Yeah, she is getting old, but she is getting old beautifully. What is wrong with that. What is wrong with getting old. She will grow into roles that befits her age, just like Meryl Streep. Nicole will not be knocked out from movie industries. Her talents and screen presence will see her through.
Years from now, women will benefit from a much more advanced age-defying beauty products…. there is no shame in it. Some are being advertised now everyday. Even Scarlett Johansson at a young age admits that she is already using anti-aging products because she has very fair skin. The younger generations stars benefits from these age-defying technologies right now, and as a result, they will look younger for a long long long time.

Hasn’t she said all along that she compares herself to Audrey Hepburn? Well I bet Audrey would NEVER do something this cheap.
Collin - NK is the LAST person I would EVER want to be! She is somebody I would NEVER look up to. After this cover shot, I am sure UNIFEM is very proud to have her as their ambassador as well. Not really sure what that last sentence means Collin, and you are calling me stupid - reread what you wrote there!

Tom is an ASS! She is so lucky that he dumped her so self righteously thus beginning the end of his composure and carefully created PR image. The man is coo coo for cocoa puffs (emphasis on puff).
Between his psycho behavior on the Today show.. telling people to go **** themselves if they do not beleive in the importance of scientology, claiming there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance (ever) or the need for psyche meds to treat schitzophrenia, to having scientology tents on his movie shoots to covert the crew, to claiming to be able to cure NYC firefighters from ground zero with sauna treatments(and then trying to convert them), to his mother going MIA from her husband and friends.. (kinda like a sweet little catholic girl and self proclaimed virgin gwtting knocked up, turning her back on her religious beliefs, friends and film commitments to become a stepford robot..poor Katie)the man is crazy.
Say thank you every hour on the hour Nic! Thank God every day for shaking that weight off your shoulders.
wow, come back to another nicole is great, nicole is not great fight. she looks so plastic in these pictures. that one where she’s holding the baby, she looks like she is saying, wtf is this and how do i hold it? seriously, why does she have to be photographed with a baby? she is so unnatural looking holding that little baby. is it because the picture is staged picture or not? who knows. but i know if i had a photo shoot taken and it included me looking like THAT while holding a baby, i would definately not want it used.
and why does she have to have her shirt open showing her bra? do they think it’s sexy? it’s not. i’m not saying she’s old, because 40 is NOT old, but for someone her age, she shouldn’t have to resort to tricks like this. she should say NO to this. she has her own mind and she can make her own decisions, yet they seem to be “bad” ones. a woman should not have to resort to taking her clothes off partially or completely to have attention. so sad. i know she’s an “artist” and all (if you want to call her that), but i wonder, what do her kids think? how does Connor who is of an age when he is very impressionable, how does he look at his mom who is always taking her clothes off for movies and magazines. what kind of image does that portray to him? and her daughter. it says “it’s ok to do this”. that’s just not right.

Natalie, what is your problem? You obviously are obsessed with her. Are you secretly in lust/love with Keith and can’t stand that she got him? What gives? You know “everything” about her because you read? How strange is that to read compulsively about someone you dislike?
And yes I have children and I often was out of town working and they stayed with my parents. I had children to support and a great paying job and a dead husband. My company graciously allowed me six weeks off after he died, but was I suppose to give up a six-figure job and stay home and use their college funds and run the life insurance out to live on? Should I have taken a much lower paying job and put us in poverty–moved them out of everything they knew just so I could be home. Like Bella and Connor, they knew they were deeply loved by me, by their dad, my grandparents, aunts and uncles. They never took drugs, were promiscous, drank much at all, and were never in trouble. Like the Jolie-Pitts, I was often able to take them with me when I worked and they went to Europe several times and most of the larger cities in the U.S. They are all “world” citizens and productive human beings. Just like Bella and Connor.
Not everyone wants the life style you push, some like Cruise-Kidman or the Jolie-Pitts, know that the quality of their love, their respect for their children as individuals, and the quality of their time spent with the kids is what counts. Not just being there constantly in a superficial way.
I also think it’s disgusting the way she undermind Isabella:
like ‘I try to have a baby but coldn’t, so that’s when we adopt Bella. and just after say: “There’s a complicated background to that, given that I never speak much about many things. One day maybe that story will be told.”

Man, at first glance I thought it was Madonna.
And then I looked again and thought it was a slight haggard ScarJo.
But it is just Nicole. Man she’s looks like she’s been rode hard and put away wet. I liked her better when she had a slighly fuller face and the red wavy hair. Much prettier and very different than the same ol’, same ol’ Hollywood blonde. Now She just looks hard, fake and washed out.
