Brad Pitt takes the Fall 2007 cover of V Magazine, as photographed by the wonderful Mario Testino. Here are some highlights from the V magazine interview by Christopher Bollen:
I know you’re in Prague right now, but the Fourth of July was yesterday. Did you celebrate it? No, we missed it here. But when you have four kids, every day is the Fourth of July.
Has becoming a father transformed your life? Yeah. It’s hilarious. It’s the funniest, most lovely thing I’ve ever taken on. And the biggest pain in the ass as well [laughs] And I couldn’t go back. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
Do you find it upsetting how the media still has an obsessive interest in linking Jen and Angelina? It’s so manufactured. We don’t pay attention to it. I hear that they drag my mo into it. She doesn’t deserve any of this. She is the most open, loving woman you’ll ever come across. They make things up and make money off of it. I am surprise about that.
There is a popular idea that you lured the paparazzi to Africa when Angelina gave birth to spotlight problems there. Was that really purposeful? It’s fourfold. For one, we know that’s going to happen so it becomes a plus. It’s all about cost and gain, plusses and minuses. Two, and most importantly, we loved the idea of our daughter being born on another continent, something she’ll be able to have roots in as well and want to explore as she gets older. That was the preeminent factor for us. Three, we knew that they had very strong privacy laws there. And we knew there was going to be a huge bounty on our heads and we were going to get very little peace unless we went to a place like that. And four, it happened to be a place that we loved.

I just saw on Yahoo News that opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti has died. Even an opera hater like me could appreciate Pavarotti’s voice.

and all the others that want to know what exactly Jen does well. Why don’t you put that question to Brad, because clearly, he is the one that can not let that relationship go. I believe she has been topping a lot of charts in the past couple of months from favorite Actress, to one of the highest earning Actress, I believe, I can be wrong about that. Now, you all are going back to 2005 when her movies flopped, and still did not bomb like that laughing stock we continue to laugh about AMH. Don’t get upset with me for telling the truth, your anger should be at Brad, he is the one using Jennifer for good PR, lord knows Angelina will not get it for him. He is the one leaking info about there make-believe friendship, so your anger should be at Brad. Go ahead live in your denial, believe that Shiloh is beautiful. Believe that Brad and Angie have nothing to do with the press hounding them. Its Ok sometimes denial is a good thing. But you really shouldn’t pretend that they are so popular when no one sees their movies anymore, and no o ne watches their interviews, and well they can’t even sell a people magazine well anymore. At least admit some truth!

Hope everything gets sorted out with your Mom - my G&G just went to a care home less than a year ago and so far, so good! Do you guys, the veteran posters here at JJ, really believe it when Brad says that he and Jen still maintain a deep friendship? I mean some sort of a friendship for old times sake may be, but a deep friendship? What is that? Give me a break!!!

Thank you again and again JJ for posting this thread. For those who are dissecting every sentence that Brad said, just remember that an interview is a Question and Answer style. If he mentions JA or his past life with JA, is because the QUESTION was brought up or ASKED. If he mentions, Paris Hilton, it is because it is part of a message in general or in passing or an example. If you are insinuating that Brad and Angie are trying to bring the “triangle” back to sell their movies, it is the opposite of what they intended and you are reading too many tabloid fakes. And Brad mentioned his mother in the tabs because of her recent visit to his ex-wife which the tabs sensationalized by saying that Jane wanted Brad to leave Angie for Jen. So that is still harming the family not only Angie. And Brad does not need to defend Angie because she can defend herself. She told Anne Curry that she knows the truth and she lives her life the way she wants to live it. And has it ever occur to some people that it is Angie who can also leave Brad instead of the normal fear of the other way around? She is very independent and strong willed. You are treating Angie as someone weak, who needs to defend herself. If she gives an interview, then answers it, is because the interviewer asked the question. Also, the interviewer edits and filters some parts of the interviews. Do you think they include everything that were said?
And if you dislike Brad, his family, his past, please leave this blog and do something productive with your life.

I can only speak for myself in saying that of course I don’t take that statement in the literal sense of “we speak on the phone all the time”. I took what he was saying as being more like “I honour the time we spent together and maintain a feeling of deep frienship TOWARDS her”. I think his mom going to visit her is an example of that, because I just don’t think that she would have if Brad felt strongly against it.
I should add that that is about as much thought as I have put into it. I’m much more focused on him calling Angie his “great love” and a “fantastic mother” and all the other good stuff going on this week. It’s unfortunate that so many are focused on that one part of the interview and what is going on in his life, when it is the least important!

Where was the poll that shown Maniston was the favorite actress ? Glaad award which was bought by Huvaniston or the pity award GC woman of the year or Publicist campaign People’s award ?
For your information, Nicole Kidman was the highest paid actress follow by Reese W. Aniston was no. 10 behind Charlize , Angelina , Drew and Cameron.
The interviewer brought up X and instead of hiding this topic for the last 3 yrs., Brad answer. it with dignity and respectful, despite the fact , his X was backstabbing him in all her movie promotions interview from VF, Oprah’s , Vogue, GC , Elle, JLeno talk show and the last one was her pimping her yoga DVD.
I hardly ever pay Sam much attention. I think people really believe that Angelina ended his marriage. I am tired of hearing it. Sam I am not sure why your so obsessed with how much money they make at the box office, its not like they even keep the money. Also INDEPENDENT films don’t make that much money at the box office. AMH and Jesse James are both independent films, how come you don’t know that? You seem very informed on box office numbers yet you don’t know that these films tend to make less money.
When award season arrives, you’ll see how much box office matters in Hollywood. Spider-Man won’t be nominated for any acting awards.

Well she didn’t. Its not about sex, I remember Brad’s QG interview where he said that kinda stuff wasn’t that important to him, you know chasing women and sex. Brad seems very level headed though. So I don’t believe for a second he would cheat. I know Angelina wouldn’t. Then if you say it was about sex then you TARNISH Brad’s relationship with Jen. Brad wants to remember it fondly and so does Jen according to her VF interview an others she gave. You make the assumption that it was sex. When Brad, Jen, and Angelina all have denied anything happening until he was free. You need to accept the fact that they grew apart.

I have had such a horrible day at work because my IT department was kind enough to switch out my computer with a brand new one that kept crashing, freezing and driving me absolutely crazy all day and night. So, thank you Jared for this new thread and posting portions of the V article, and particularly the great quote below from Brad. It’s made a terrible day much brighter.
