Jude Law Arrested!!!

Jude Law was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted paparazzi outside his London home. The British actor turned himself in, was fingerprinted and bailed to return next month.

A police spokesman said: “A 34-year-old man from Maida Vale was arrested yesterday on suspicion of actual bodily harm after voluntarily attending a London police station.

“The arrest followed an allegation of assault yesterday at a residential address in Maida Vale.

“The 34-year-old man was released on bail to a date in October pending further inquiries.”

UPDATE: Jude’s rep tells Us Weekly that Jude was not arrested: “I can confirm that Jude Law voluntarily attended Marylebone Police Station yesterday following an alleged incident outside his house earlier in the day. Mr Law provided police with a statement regarding his denials of allegations by a ‘paparazzi’ photographer against him and made his own allegations concerning the photographer. Jude has the utmost respect for the police and whilst this is an ongoing matter no further comment will be made.”

I can’t blame him. Paps should know the difference between public life and private life, and concerning his kids he defendded them fiercely, (mabye not in the wrigth way)’cause you don’t know the use those stolen pics will have.He has never sold a single pic of him&his children to any magazine, so if he considers that he’s suffering an intrusion on his privacy, I understand his reaction.

#3:
yeah, I’d say he’s real troubled about having cameras shoved in his face everywhere he goes…I think the paps are slightly above hyenias in the evolution chain…

Also, great psychoanalysis, #3…are you psychoanalyst to the stars or something?

The paparazzi count this:

The snapper claims Law viciously assaulted him earlier today outside his north west London home, punching him in the face and kicking him to the ground. Police were called after the incident, which left the photographer needing hospital treatment. He says, “I was at a bus stop near Jude’s house but I wasn’t taking pictures of him. My camera was still in the bag. He was by himself when he recognised me and started accusing me of being a paedophile and that all I wanted to do was take pictures of his children. “He then punched me in the face and started kicking me. I was shocked at his behaviour. You would expect that sort of behaviour from a yob not from a big Hollywood actor.” A police spokesperson says, “Police were called out in to the Maida Vale area after reports of a disturbance and inquiries are being made.”

The paparazzis follow the three kids of Jude. This isn’t the way, but one father is right defend his kids. And the law don’t defend them.
And… Jude deny the assault.

Ok, I get that the paps are extra crazy with their tactics but come on. Let’s have some self control here. Everytime I turn around, some celeb is going psycho with the paps. Don’t they realize that when they do retaliate that it just aids the paps?? They get all of shots of a celeb losing his shite. You know what, celebrity is a pain, but they knew what they were getting into when they were chasing the fame beast so I can’t feel too badly for any celebrity.

And I forget… If Brad or others actors or public person want, or don’t care if his kids are in the covers magazines, perfect, but they must respect when the fathers don’t want.

Well, “me”, but I talk the children. They must’n follow the children.

The way paps get their pictures is NOT acceptable, and it should not be a price of fame to have yourself stalked so intrusively day after day just so somebody can get a picture of you. I think there should definitely be some personal space, and I don’t know why laws allow this to go on.

If an attractive woman is stalked by a photogapher on the street who jams a camera in her face everyday as she’s going to work, going home, going to the store, do we blame the woman because she is attractive or do we get the a**hole arrested for stalking and violating her personal space?

To say that celebs should expect this treatment is like saying an attractive woman who dresses seductively deserves to be raped.

The day before this same pap took pics of Jude and Iris and Rudy-they were outside playing/minding their own business. You never know where these pics will end up. He and Sadie have always been protective of their children. Maybe he could have handled it differently but it has to be intrusive with the paps there all the time.

I can totally see why celebs lose their temper. I guess sometimes they just take it and take it until it finally builds up.

ooooh tough guy, I would love get in a fight with Jude Law. Smack him around a bit.

Frenchy ,Brad empkloys a security force because of the paparazzi and
lives his life shielded from them in this manner. Jude wants h private life to be the normal one that any young family might have. He has reitrated that again and again and has been foillowed\
by the British tabloids since he teamed up with Sadie and through the
years they have gotten more disrespectful and more of a threat to the chilren. When he is in a public place with his kids it’s OK for them to take pix. But in his private life with his kiids he wants just that his privacy. YOu and I get it. NO, a celebrity doesn’t owe evERY moment of their lives to anyone. Privacy shoiuld be guaranteed thing just as freedom of speech is. I don’t believe this guys story and I think they may have had words before ahd this was setup. I think in protecting his children I will not criticize Jude for this but applaud him. THis has been such a big problem in his life. The intrusion of people in his face wherever he goes requires legal action in enforcing rules and regulations that must be set by the law and themkedia industry to control these men who will do anything for a buck,.and have no shame or conscience about it.

Ok, I don’t want anyone to misread what I have written. I never said that it was ok for the paps to take pictures of celeb children. The kids never asked for the fame or the fortune. What I did say is that these folks go in with their eyes fully open to the fact that if they do make it to the A-list, that the paps are part of the deal. It’s not illogical to state that celebrities should expect that when they do become famous that they’ll be chased around by photogs. Paps have been around for a long time, it’s not a new phenonmenon. Either way, Jude had no right to assault the photographer.

I don’t condone the behavior of the photographer either, but we can’t dismiss the fact that Jude assaulted another person. There are other ways to handle the situation without resorting to violence. If as you say this was the same photographer that was following Jude around the previous day, I would have suggested that Jude visit the authorities and make them aware of the situation. What the photographer is doing does boil down to stalking and there are laws against that.

Number 16…I don’t know if your comment was directed towards me, but I don’t see how you can make such an analogy. Dressing seductively is not synonymous with rape because it does not always lead to an attractive woman being violated. Women have been raped even when they were dressed conservatively or frumpy. The same can not be said for being an A-list celebrity because being that famous will always and without a doubt equate to being hounded by the paps. It comes with the territory.

Sandy:

Privacy from photographers for celebrities is not legally guaranteed at this point. I really cannot applaud Jude’s actions. It will do no good and it may do more to damage his reputation. What legal action could be taken? There are no rules and regulations concerning the media industry and paparazzi in any country that I know of. Physical violence against them will not cause shame or a crisis of conscience in these guys. In fact, they’re probably absolutely elated that this has happened. It will fuel more paparazzi coverage of Jude at least for a while.

If the photographers are such a problem for Jude and his children(and I believe that they are) then he probably needs to resort to what Brad and Angelina and Tom and Katie and Britney and quite a few others do and hire private security and bodyguards. I think that he may find that it is worth it.

Meanwhile, maybe laws can be passed but that takes a LOT of time and legal wrangling especially in countries that guarantee freedom of the press.

Great job Jude..i’m your side..

Jude, I’m with you, too. There has to be a limit to the amount of crap that paps get away with.
