Sarah Wayne Callies Nixed By Prison Break

Sarah Wayne Callies is not returning to Prison Break this season, reports TV Guide.

The 30-year-old actress, who plays Dr. Sara Tancredi, was reportedly on maternity leave but apparently that’s not the case!

This doesn’t make much sense creatively for the show as Prison Break spent two years building her relationship with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), but we’ll see how the writers spin this one. Who’s going to be Michael’s new love interest this season???

Back in January, it was announced that Callies would be expecting her first child, with husband Josh Winterhalt, in late summer. No news about the birth has officially been announced yet but the baby is reportedly a girl.

UPDATE: A publicist for FOX just issued a statement exclusively to JustJared.com: “Actually – the network and studio has not confirmed that Sarah Wayne Callies has departed the series this season. Dr. Sara Tancredi plays a significant part in the storyline this year.” So the question still remains — will Callies return as Dr. Tancredi?

I have always thought that SWC didn’t seem comfortable with the intrusion in her private life that being a celebrity brings. And I always got the impression she didn’t like being the love interest because her husband maybe didn’t like her being in such scenes. I wish she hadn’t taken on the role of Sara if she was planning a family so soon. I think she wants to be a fulltime mother and that’s her prerogative. So many fans are going to be disappointed if the rumour is true. Her character’s relationship with Michael has been bulit up over the last 2 seasons and to lose it would be damaging to the show. If she’s not returning I would rather they recast her role rather than kill her off. I need Michael to fight to be with a live woman rather than fight for a dead one.

Well she have to respect her contrat right i don’t get it. Fine she have a baby but that not a reason to quit the show who made you famous. I just so angry and i don’t want to whatch the show anymore. MiSa or nothing. And another actress to play her caracter will suck.

This sucks big time if she’s out what they are going to write in as Mike’s new love interest the new dark tranny looking woman on the show or Jodi the ****.I think this is maybe another commotion like at the end of season 1 oh she may not be back on season 2 and it was all to stir the audience.If this is true and it was her decision to leave the show to make movies who is she kidding she’s no movie star or has the appeal of one.She should just stick to the show and to tv as long as possible like Wentworth, he is sick of PB but he is still hanging in there so should she!

I hope this is a rumor. If it’s not, I’m going to vomit in my shoes. Granted, while I am a huge fan of the show–and the boys–I really started to respect her character towards the end of season two. (She could definitely hold her own with the guys). I also liked the relationship between the Doc and Michael. I hope she’s not out. I’ll wait and hold on vomiting until I hear officially from Fox.

I love MiSa and the character of Sara. She and Michael are as perfect as any couple I’ve ever seen on TV or in film. Wentworth and Sarah are so beautiful together and they seem to instinctively understand each other. They are a lot alike in real life, and I think they are very good friends too. If Sarah doesn’t come back, PB will not be the same and I won’t ever get over my disappointment!!! If Sarah wants to extend her maternity leave that’s understandable, but she could at least return in the second half of the season or work part time, whatever it takes! Please keep MiSa!! Sign the online petition ereryone! PB will be ruined without Sara.

I’m not sure what you mean……were you talking about the flashback scenes? Anyway, I’ll be happy if this is true. I never cared for her at all, her storyline needs to end.

Alright. if this is the truth?! I wont “tune in” and watch one more prison break episode. i hate that Dominic actor anyway. I loved Prison Break with Sarah in it and this “news” just sucks and well (only) one less (forein) viewer so it ain a great loss. but still. it’s a damn shame (mostly for me.. )

I’m frankly glad. The whole ‘MiSa’ thing sucks.

Btw, I can’t help but wonder if the recent gossip about Went had something to do with this. Fox probably thinks the public would not accept him with a female. And they’re probably right. I’ve known about Went so I never saw chemisty between MiSa.

Oh for goodness sake! It’s pretty obvious from the reaction to this possible news that ‘the public’ feels no such way, and I’m sure Fox don’t think any such thing.

Her leaving or wanting more time off is obviously to do with the fact that she’s just given birth - it’s hardly for no evident reason whatsoever.
